It was a great speech! It was really wonderful out there. The crowd loved it more than I thought they would, Mr. Limbaugh.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125110.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"287\" class=\"alignright\"\/> I read the speech in advance, and wasn\u2019t that crazy about it. When he gave it the audience really seemed to like it in spots. Now, Harry Reid and everybody\u2019s come out, Bill Richardson. Well, they\u2019ve just thrown him overboard, but they actually did that back in 2004. So he sought his life raft, life raft with the Republican Party. Here\u2019s my problem with Lieberman. I love Lieberman, as I\u2019ve told you. Human being, as individual. But would you ever believe that at a Democrat convention you would see Dick Cheney show up and make a speech to Democrats saying, &#8216;You guys gotta work together with the Republicans. The American people want us to work together and get rid of all this partisanship.\u2019 I don\u2019t think you would ever see it. The way I feel today (and this is not new) with all due respect to Joe Lieberman, I don\u2019t want to compromise with these people that are trying to destroy people who believe in God. <\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re trying to destroy. Every stellar individual of our movement has been targeted for character destruction, for professional destruction. What in the world is there to compromise with these people? It is a silly notion to believe that the number one thing on American people\u2019s minds these days is, &#8216;Why can\u2019t Democrats and Republicans get along?\u2019 It\u2019s one of these mantra myths that I do not believe, because I know that the Democrats couldn\u2019t care less about &#8216;getting along\u2019 unless we change our minds and unless we become subservient wives to them. That\u2019s the only time they would care to get along. I don\u2019t see mavericks in their party. I see people like Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller. I see carcasses. I see dead bodies. Even after Zell Miller and Lieberman are gone from that party, I see all-out efforts to destroy them. Lieberman\u2019s going to have to have somebody start his car from now on and the rest of his life, and taste his food. He\u2019s going to need security detail. <\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I\u2019m going to play one sound bite of Joe Lieberman from last night that just has the Democrats frosted today.<\/p>\n<p>LIEBERMAN: Senator Barack Obama is a gifted and eloquent young man who I think can do great things for our country in the years ahead. But, my friends, eloquence is no substitute for a record (cheering) not in these tough times for America.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: There, Lieberman guaranteeing a food taster for the rest of his life by basically telling the Republican convention and all the Democrats that Barry just isn\u2019t qualified. In fact, let\u2019s play number 22 next instead. We\u2019ll get one more Lieberman in here. He basically told the world that old Barry hadn\u2019t got a record; he\u2019s got no experience. And then he appealed directly to Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>LIEBERMAN: &#8230; I want to speak directly to my fellow Democrats and independents who are watching or listening tonight. I want to speak directly to you out there. I know many of you are angry and frustrated by our government and our politics today, and for good reason. You may be thinking of voting for John McCain, but you\u2019re not sure yet. Some of you may never have voted for a Republican before &#8212; and, frankly, in an ordinary election, you probably never would. But I want you to believe with me that this is no ordinary election.<\/p>\n<p>MAN: Yessss!<\/p>\n<p>AUDIENCE: (cheers and applause)<\/p>\n<p>LIEBERMAN: And it\u2019s no ordinary election because these are not ordinary times. And trust me: John McCain is no ordinary candidate.<\/p>\n<p>AUDIENCE: (cheers and applause)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Now he\u2019s guaranteed that he also needs (in addition to the food taster) somebody to start his car every day. So he appealed to Democrats and independents: Please vote for McCain. Obama doesn\u2019t have a record.
