Beto O\u2019Rourke, Robert &#8220;Beto&#8221; O\u2019Rourke, after saying he wasn\u2019t gonna run for the presidency, today went to Iowa and flailed around with his arms gesticulating, wildly claiming he is gonna run. He\u2019s got the craziest agenda. I hope these people keep talking.<\/p>\n<p>Every time these Democrats open their mouths, they are creating more Trump voters. Do not doubt me on this, folks. Do not doubt me. We have not become a socialist nation yet. These people are not appealing to a mass or majority of people in this country.<\/p>\n<p>Only in the Democrat Party could somebody who loses a Senate race be said to be the front-runner in the presidential contest. But what\u2019s happening, the Democrat Party\u2019s not digging Beto. Beto is too white. And there\u2019s all kinds of commentators and media people that are livid at people for being so excited over Beto! Where was this excitement for Kamala Harris, they\u2019re saying. Where was this excitement for Cory Booker? There wasn\u2019t any of this kind of excitement, proving there\u2019s even racism on the Democrat side. Yet Beto gets in and all bets are off?<\/p>\n<p>The Club for Growth has put together an ad or two on Beto O\u2019Rourke video ads. They run about two minutes. They are awesome. And they are devastating. They make mincemeat of the guy. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/club4growth\/videos\">We\u2019ll link to a couple of them at RushLimbaugh.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AFkXBprH9wY\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>They asked Trump &#8212; Trump had an Oval Office meeting today with the Irish prime minister &#8212; did you see Trump\u2019s tie? What a great tie Trump had on. Normally he wears solid colors. He was wearing a Foulard tie today with the dominant color being green. He had a little green pocket square in there in honor of the Irish prime minister in town. His name is Leo Varadkar.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, it was a mess. When Trump opened it up to the media, it sounded like 6-year-old Romper Room asking for ice cream. They went bonkers in there. You couldn\u2019t even hear individual questions. But Trump was able to. And I guess they asked him at some point about Beto, and this is what Trump had to say.<\/p>\n<p>THE PRESIDENT: He\u2019s got a lot of hand movement. I\u2019ve never seen so much hand movement. I said, \u201cIs he crazy or is that just the way he acts?\u201d So I\u2019ve never seen hand movement, I watched him a little this morning doing, I assume it was some kind of a news conference, and I\u2019ve actually never seen anything quite like it. Study it. I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll agree.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 I love that.\u00a0 &#8220;I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll agree.&#8221;\u00a0 He\u2019s right.\u00a0 Beto was all over the place here.\u00a0 It was odd. It was odd. But aside from that, folks, I\u2019m just telling you: When these people announce what they\u2019re for, they are creating more and more Trump voters, even among people who may be even lukewarm toward Trump.\u00a0 Let me just give you a summary of what Beto said today.\u00a0 Beto O\u2019Rourke&#8230; He &#8220;released a video alongside his wife, Amy, announcing his candidacy.&#8221;\u00a0 In the video he talks about &#8220;interconnected crises in our democracy,&#8221; &#8220;the economy and climate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He &#8220;promises to unleash the genius of the United States&#8221; to fix them.\u00a0 In his first-ever visit to Iowa, he starts off with this apocalyptic notion about global warming.\u00a0 He said that &#8220;large parts of the world will soon be uninhabitable.&#8221;\u00a0 You thought I was making this up.\u00a0 You thought that I was exaggerated a bit every time I\u2019ve told you that there\u2019s a bunch of Millennials out there who really believe the earth is not gonna be habitable by the time they\u2019re 65.\u00a0 Here comes Beto!\u00a0 He says: Illegal immigration? No big deal!<\/p>\n<p>And you better get ready for even more because mass migration of &#8220;climate refugees&#8221; will mean tens of hundreds of millions on the U.S. border.\u00a0 You think people want to vote for somebody that thinks this is gonna happen?\u00a0 Climate refugees, tens or hundreds of millions of people on the U.S. border &#8212; and what\u2019s happening down there now is nothing compared to what\u2019s gonna happen?\u00a0 He then &#8220;praised the Green New Deal as the best proposal to address the singular crisis we face, a crisis that could at worst lead to human extinction&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p>Could you just see people running to the polls to vote for this?\u00a0 He\u2019s got a website.\u00a0 It\u2019s got merchandise and fundraising buttons.\u00a0 No issues or position phrases on the buttons.\u00a0 Here\u2019s a summary of what Beto is for, his policy positions.\u00a0 He\u2019s against a border wall.\u00a0 He voted against ICE.\u00a0 He voted against Kate\u2019s Law &#8212; that\u2019s Kate Steinle &#8212; on sanctuary cities.\u00a0 He voted against the Trump tax cuts.\u00a0 He is in favor of single-payer health care, Medicare for all.\u00a0 He voted against sanctioning Iran, and he has calls the cops &#8220;the new Jim Crow.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-302473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/APP-031419-Beto-Orourke.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/APP-031419-Beto-Orourke.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/APP-031419-Beto-Orourke-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/>This guy has determined that the electorate on the Democrat side is leftist insane, and he\u2019s making a beeline for them.\u00a0 This has caused others in the Democrat Party to react with some caution.\u00a0 Michael Avenatti. Just after Robert O\u2019Rourke announced that he\u2019s running, Avenatti tweeted&#8230; Now, he\u2019s the lawyer for Stormy Daniels &#8212; well, is the ex-lawyer for Stormy Daniels. He fired her.\u00a0 He fired his client.\u00a0 The odds are that she didn\u2019t pay him.\u00a0 The odds are that there was no gigantic payday for Avenatti.<\/p>\n<p>The odds are that Avenatti may have thought he was gonna be in the front running or in the lead for the Democrat presidential nomination.\u00a0 Do not discount that.\u00a0 These people are that deranged.\u00a0 Anyway, none of that has materialized.\u00a0 None of the wealth, none of the riches, none of the acclaim, none of the fawning. None of this happened to Avenatti.\u00a0 So now he tweets, &#8220;If the Dems nominate a weak glorified cheerleader candidate to face Trump, then we deserve the outcome, which will be a Trump re-election. Trump is not to be underestimated.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nominating a candidate who is not battletested [sic] and a fighter will ensure he wins again.&#8221;\u00a0 So the Democrats&#8230; This is something that we don\u2019t see very often.\u00a0 We do see it occasionally, but not much.\u00a0 The Democrats are now engaged, in the process of critiquing each other.\u00a0 And I\u2019m telling you, Beto has brought a bunch of them out of the woodwork, and they are launching into him.\u00a0 African-American media people are livid at all the excitement that\u2019s greeting Beto O\u2019Rourke\u2019s announcement.\u00a0 They can\u2019t stand it!<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You know how much I care about Beto O\u2019Rourke right now?\u00a0 A big, fat zero.\u00a0 But I opened the program talking about Beto O\u2019Rourke because it\u2019s one of these things I think I should do.\u00a0 Because he is being treated, he\u2019s being greeted by some in the media and some in the Democrat Party as the next great hope, the next great hope for admonishing and getting rid of Trump.<\/p>\n<p>But he\u2019s being met with his own degree of controversy within the Democrat Party, which is what I want to explore.\u00a0 It\u2019s not that I don\u2019t care about Beto.\u00a0 It\u2019s just that it\u2019s&#8230; To me, this is so far out now, and it just&#8230; You know, I\u2019m a nonconformist, and I refuse to look at the narrative every day on cable news and have that determine what I talk about here.\u00a0 So all morning long on cable news it was Beto, because Beto was out in Iowa and he did his announcement for the presidency.<\/p>\n<p>And, of course, the press dutifully falls in line and covers it and so forth.\u00a0 But there are other things out there to me which interest me more.\u00a0 But I have made a judgment that I should talk about this nevertheless.\u00a0 In fact, we\u2019ve got&#8230; Let\u2019s see.\u00a0 We have a couple callers. People want to talk about it.\u00a0 So it\u2019s a wise decision to get back to it.\u00a0 I want to start here with audio sound bite number 9.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Nia-Malika Henderson on CNN New Day today was asked&#8230; She\u2019s African-American. (interruption) I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 She\u2019s a &#8220;person of color,&#8221; okay?\u00a0 I don\u2019t know who\u2019s African-American, Jamaican-American, Indian-American. I don\u2019t know anymore.\u00a0 She\u2019s a person of color, and John Berman said, &#8220;You wrote a piece,&#8221; Nia-Malika Henderson. &#8220;You wrote a piece about how Beto is treated differently than other candidates and specifically female candidates.\u00a0 What can you tell us about this?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-302460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/NIAMALIKAHENDERSONBETOWHITEDUDE.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"537\" height=\"306\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/NIAMALIKAHENDERSONBETOWHITEDUDE.png 537w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/NIAMALIKAHENDERSONBETOWHITEDUDE-300x171.png 300w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/NIAMALIKAHENDERSONBETOWHITEDUDE-536x306.png 536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 537px) 100vw, 537px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>HENDERSON:\u00a0 The point of that piece was to talk about the ways, uh, in which Beto O\u2019Rourke benefited from white privilege, uh, the idea that he could go off on this excellent adventure. I think he &#8212; he only felt, uh, emboldened and free enough to do that because he was white and because he was male, and (snickers) because his wife could, in fact, uh, stay home and look after the kids.\u00a0 There couldn\u2019t be, I don\u2019t think, a female candidate or an African-American candidate, uh, who could do that kind of exercise and get so much praise for it.\u00a0 The freedom, uh, that he could feel, uh, really, uh, I think has a lot to do, uh, with the fact that, uh, he is white and male.\u00a0 I haven\u2019t seen, uh, Stacey Abrams on the cover of Vanity Fair.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:\u00a0 Oh, man!\u00a0 You see? The long knives are coming out!\u00a0 She\u2019s jealous.\u00a0 She jealous.\u00a0 Beto O\u2019Rourke apparently has a slave wife at home that will stay there and raise the kids and cook and do whatever\u2019s necessary.\u00a0 Beto can go out and be free and be this guy with all this white male privilege.\u00a0 So he\u2019s got freedom that African-American female candidates don\u2019t have.\u00a0 Plus the fact that he\u2019s got the cover of Vanity Fair, and so he\u2019s benefiting from &#8220;white privilege.&#8221;\u00a0 This is an amazing statement, actually.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-302463\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Screen-Shot-2019-03-14-at-1.18.08-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"365\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Screen-Shot-2019-03-14-at-1.18.08-PM.png 365w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Screen-Shot-2019-03-14-at-1.18.08-PM-219x300.png 219w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 365px) 100vw, 365px\" \/>&#8220;[T]he idea that he could go off on this excellent adventure. I think he only felt emboldened and free enough to do that because he was white and because he was male, and because his wife could, in fact, stay home and look after the kids.&#8221;\u00a0 What about Cory Booker?\u00a0 Why can\u2019t he engage in the same kind of freedom?\u00a0 Does the fact that he\u2019s black and bald mean that he doesn\u2019t have a wife at home taking care of the kids and he\u2019s not as free?\u00a0 What am I missing here?\u00a0 Why is it that Beto is white is the reason he has all this freedom?<\/p>\n<p>Does Kamala Harris not have some slave husband at home willing to do whatever\u2019s necessary to &#8212; (chuckles) yes, she does, by the way &#8212; enable her to do whatever she wants to do whenever she wants to do it?\u00a0 Same thing with Elizabeth Warren.\u00a0 I mean, Elizabeth Warren (impression), &#8220;Hey, honey, grab me a beer!&#8221;\u00a0 And he lazily&#8230; &#8220;Never mind, honey! I\u2019ll get that beer myself,&#8221; and she goes to the fridge, grabs the beer and opens it with her teeth.\u00a0 &#8220;Hi!\u00a0 Want to join me in a beer?\u00a0 I am Cherokee Nation number 1, Elizabeth Warren.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s stopping these people from exercising their privilege and their freedom?\u00a0 Why is it only Beto O\u2019Rourke who had freedom ? In fact, I\u2019ve got a story here from Breitbart: &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2019\/03\/13\/left-mocks-betos-messiah-esque-born-to-run-remarks-peak-white-male-privilege\/\">Left Mocks Beto\u2019s \u2018Messiah-Esque\u2019 \u2018Born\u2019 to Run Remarks: \u2018Peak White Male Privilege.\u2019<\/a>&#8221;\u00a0 These are liberals come down to poor Robert.\u00a0 &#8220;Left-wing activists and liberal journalists were quick to mock former Rep. Robert Francis O\u2019Rourke (D-TX) on Wednesday evening after he told Vanity Fair that he was &#8216;born\u2019 to run for president.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;O\u2019Rourke told Vanity Fair, &#8216;You can probably tell that I want to run&#8230; I do. I think I\u2019d be good at it.\u2019 &#8216;I want to be in it,\u2019 O\u2019Rourke said. &#8216;Man, I\u2019m just born to be in it, and want to do everything I humanly can for this country at this moment.\u2019 Hours after Vanity Fair published its fawning cover story, O\u2019Rourke confirmed to KTSM in Texas that he would announce on Thursday that he is running&#8230; &#8216;I\u2019m really proud of what El Paso did and what El Paso represents,\u2019 O\u2019Rourke [said]. &#8216;It\u2019s a big part of why I\u2019m running.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&#8216;This city is the best example of this country at its best,'&#8221; and it is a &#8220;gushing Vanity Fair profile.&#8221;\u00a0 They love the guy. It &#8220;framed O\u2019Rourke as someone who, in contrast to President Donald Trump, &#8216;can appear almost too innocent\u2019 and &#8216;decent\u2019 to be a politician.&#8221; He\u2019s just&#8230; He\u2019s too potted plant.\u00a0 You know, he\u2019s just&#8230; He\u2019s too nice.\u00a0 He just too innocent.\u00a0 But his &#8220;critics on the left immediately pointed to his &#8216;white privilege\u2019 and mocked his &#8216;weird as hell\u2019 &#8216;Messiah-esque\u2019 tone that they predicted &#8216;will not serve him well\u2019 in a presidential run.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>We&#8230; (interruption) In the Democrat Party, you mean? (interruption) &#8220;Whites need not apply&#8221;? (interruption) Except he\u2019s got his supporters in the Democrat Party.\u00a0 It\u2019s not just&#8230; (interruption) Snerdley says, &#8220;Why don\u2019t they just have a sign: &#8216;Whites need not apply\u2019 in the presidential nomination in the Democrat Party.&#8221; (interruption) White males! White males.\u00a0 Here\u2019s Kirsten Powers.\u00a0 This gets even better now.\u00a0 She\u2019s on CNN this morning, and they\u2019re having a discussion about Beto running for president.\u00a0 She\u2019s now a columnist at USA Today, by the way, and this is what she said&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-302461\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/KirstenPowersBetoWhiteDude.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"628\" height=\"351\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/KirstenPowersBetoWhiteDude.png 628w, https:\/\/www.rushlimbaugh.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/KirstenPowersBetoWhiteDude-300x168.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 628px) 100vw, 628px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>POWERS: Can I just say one thing, though, about what\u2019s bothering me about this isn\u2019t so much about what he\u2019s doing, it\u2019s what the media is doing. So the fact that he gets this Vanity Fair cover and I &#8211; and I feel like, you know he is getting kind of this special treatment that\u2019s not proportionate to what he\u2019s done. He\u2019s had a big accomplishment, but so did Stacey Abrams. There are a lot of other candidates who\u2019ve accomplished a lot. Like, it\u2019s not clear to me why he\u2019s on the cover of Vanity Fair and Kamala Harris isn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>HARLOW I want to know why &#8211; why do you think it is?<\/p>\n<p>POWERS:: Well, \u2019cause I think that there is still a &#8211; an issue in this country where people just get very, very excited about white men.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Holy smokes, folks, this is the Democrat Party! They\u2019re supposed to have fixed all over this! There aren\u2019t supposed to be these tensions and this divide. But do you hear these people? They\u2019re just jealous! How does this guy get Vanity Fair and Stacey Abrams hasn\u2019t? How come Kamala Harris hasn\u2019t gotten it? Why is Beto? I\u2019ll guarantee you &#8212; Beto lost, too, that\u2019s another thing they\u2019re not saying. They\u2019re thinking, this guy loses, he loses to Ted Cruz, and he\u2019s the biggest thing we\u2019ve got?<\/p>\n<p>But the jealousy here, the jealousy over the media. Isn\u2019t it just delightful to listen to leftists whine about an unfair, unrealistic media? (imitating Powers) &#8220;I\u2019m upset by what the media\u2019s doing. So he gets this cover. I feel like, you know, he\u2019s getting kind of this special treatment that\u2019s not proportionate to what he\u2019s done.&#8221; She has no idea what it\u2019s like to be a conservative or Republican in media. You talk about getting criticized for things, how many media enterprises that have no audience are labeled as hot and number one in the media if they\u2019re left wing or liberal?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s establishing a point. They can\u2019t deal with adversity in the media. They can\u2019t. People on the left, they\u2019re so unaccustomed to getting it that, when it happens &#8212; but now the divisions, all of these women. And Kirsten Powers is not a woman of color except for her red hair. She is a white woman from Alaska out there. And even she\u2019s ticked off. (interruption) What makes Stacey Abrams so attractive? Don\u2019t make me answer that. I don\u2019t want to have to &#8212; see, I can\u2019t do anything other than tell the truth, and there\u2019s nothing to be gained by answering your question.<\/p>\n<p>Snerdley wants to know why &#8212; we\u2019ve had two people now, Nia-Malika Henderson and Kirsten Powers compare Beto to Stacey Abrams. Beto gets his Vanity Fair cover, Beto gets star treatment by Drive-Bys, and why hasn\u2019t Stacey Abrams? Why are they angry Stacey Abrams isn\u2019t &#8212; well, again, I can\u2019t answer this. I mean, I could, but I don\u2019t know how much it would serve or assist me in doing so. (interruption) Well, Kamala\u2019s not gotten the cover of Vanity Fair, though.<\/p>\n<p>And, by the way, what\u2019s Kamala\u2019s great claim to fame? She had an affair with Willie Brown that he has confirmed. She was the front-runner when she was the only runner, yeah, she was the front-runner when she was the only runner. Well, her dad did some dirty deeds too. Well, her dad got mad because she portrayed a bunch of Jamaicans as just sitting around blowing weed all day.
