RUSH: Lisa Page continues to be a gold mine of information. She also testified that Peter Strzok Smirk believed the special counsel investigation could end in impeachment and would boost his career! She is just full of information that the Congress has known, the committee has known for a year, that hasn\u2019t leaked, that hasn\u2019t found its way to the public domain. Now it is, as we are winding down here.<\/p>\n

But she was the lover. They had an affair. They were doing the textual tango, if you will. And she said that Peter Strzok Smirk believed that the Mueller investigation could end in impeachment and thus boost his career.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let\u2019s move on to the Lisa Page news here today because it\u2019s voluminous. The first story here from the Washington Examiner<\/a>. Lisa Page said the FBI discussed charging Hillary Clinton with gross negligence in 2016 and the Department of Justice, the Obama DOJ, told them “no.”<\/p>\n

\u201cPage testified last year that officials in the bureau, including then-FBI Director James Comey, discussed Espionage Act charges against Hillary Clinton, citing \u2018gross negligence,\u2019 but the Justice Department shut them down. \u2026 Page told the committee that the FBI \u2018did not blow over gross negligence.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cResponding to a question from Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, Page testified the FBI, including Comey, believed Clinton may have committed gross negligence. \u2018We, in fact \u2014 and, in fact, the Director \u2014 because, on its face, it did seem like, well, maybe there\u2019s a potential here for this to be the charge. And we had multiple conversations, multiple conversations with the Justice Department about charging gross negligence,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cPage further testified the DOJ put a stop to that: \u2018The Justice Department\u2019s assessment was that it was both constitutionally vague, so that they did not actually feel that they could permissibly bring that charge.\u2019 The specific statute being referenced, 18 U.S. Code \u00a7 793, deals in part with \u2018gross negligence\u2019 in the handling of national defense information, which Clinton came under scrutiny for possibly violating. Page said Comey and the FBI spoke with DOJ about a gross negligence charge for Clinton multiple times, but that the DOJ\u2014\u201d Those two paragraphs are saying the same thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cRatcliffe asked if the decision not to charge Clinton with gross negligence was a direct order from the DOJ. \u2018When you say advice you got from the Department, you\u2019re making it sound like it was the Department that told you: \u201cYou\u2019re not going to charge gross negligence because we\u2019re the prosecutors and we\u2019re telling you we\u2019re not going to,\u201d he said. Page responded: \u2018That\u2019s correct.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Now, this is viewed as the biggest revelation from the 370-page transcript of her testimony. What\u2019s interesting here is that even Comey believed Hillary may have committed gross negligence, but then it was McCabe — you know, when Comey had that July 5th press conference, he was actually going to reference her having committed gross negligence, and McCabe scratched that out and replaced it with “carelessness” or some such thing.<\/p>\n

So it was clear that the DOJ was the one standing in the way. But the idea that Comey also thought this, that she had committed gross negligence — you know, this explains a lot. It explains a lot. Now, we\u2019re gonna assume her testimony is truthful, 370-page transcript that they weren\u2019t going to treat Hillary as exempt because she was the Democrat nominee, but in fact they did.<\/p>\n

And Comey, in his July 5th press conference, took it all on himself and made it look like he was the one that made these decisions. Remember, Loretta Lynch had met with Slick Willie on the tarmac at an airport in Phoenix on Slick Willie\u2019s private jet. So she had to recuse but she basically turned it over and said, \u201cLook, I can\u2019t be involved in this now.\u201d<\/p>\n

So Comey goes out on July 5th, does this press conference, lists all the crimes, not gross negligence, talked about just careless and then made the point that they couldn\u2019t find where she intended to do any of this so that they weren\u2019t gonna charge her. The transcript reveals also that Page testified that everyone at the FBI opposed letting Hillary\u2019s lawyers attend her FBI interview.<\/p>\n

Now, remember, Hillary was accompanied by nine lawyers. She was interviewed, and she was even exonerated before the interview. The interview happened on a Saturday. She\u2019s exonerated the following Tuesday. They let her bring nine lawyers in, including Cheryl Mills, who was not a lawyer, and Heather Samuelson. Then they took Cheryl Mills\u2019 lawyer and they destroyed it because it had evidence. It was obvious at this point they were doing everything they can to protect her, and Lisa Page\u2019s point is that all of this was demanded of them from the DOJ.<\/p>\n

Now, that would have been Loretta Lynch, gang. I mean, she was the attorney general at the time. It would have been Loretta Lynch with a pipeline to Obama. This had to be a pipeline to the White House telling them, Comey and the bunch, “Leave her alone.” And obviously, I mean, she\u2019s the Democrat nominee in waiting, all practical purposes.<\/p>\n

And Obama wasn\u2019t gonna take her out. They didn\u2019t want Crazy Bernie in there. They already rigged the Democrat primaries for Hillary, if you remember. I mean, you want to talk about election rigging and meddling, it was the DNC meddling in their own primaries to make sure Crazy Bernie was never gonna get enough delegates to be a factor.<\/p>\n

Now we learn that nobody at the FBI wanted to let that many people in her interview to act as lawyers. And then the latest reveal from Lisa Page today is that Peter Strzok was excited about the Mueller investigation because he was certain it would lead to impeachment of Donald Trump, which would give him,, a tremendous career boost, which, of course, that hasn\u2019t happened, and Strzok Smirk is now out.<\/p>\n

Now, this testimony occurred over a year ago, and it has not leaked. It occurred when the Republicans ran the committee — what\u2019s the specific committee where she\u2019s testifying before here? This was the House Judiciary Committee. It was last summer. And that was obviously before the Democrats took over, and it\u2019s only coming out now. It\u2019s fascinating to put all this in perspective here in the aftermath of the Manafort sentencing today.<\/p>\n
