OBAMA: Everybody\u2019s watching what\u2019s going on in Beijing right now in the Olympics. Think about the amount of money that China has spent on infrastructure. Their ports, their train systems, their airports are all vastly superior to us now, which means if you\u2019re a corporation deciding where to do business, you\u2019re starting to think Beijing looks like a pretty good option.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There he goes again running down the United States. Do you know the United States of America\u2019s economy is more than that of Germany and Japan combined, but here he is, infrastructure, they\u2019re doing it right, the communists, ladies and gentlemen, the communists are doing better than we are at infrastructure, airports, train systems, sports, and if you\u2019re an American corporation, why, it makes sense to go over there. Hey, Obama, what do you think they\u2019ve been doing for the last number of years? Where do you think Nike makes its shoes that you wear playing pickup basketball? Where do you think Apple is making the iPhone? <\/p>\n

OBAMA: Everybody\u2019s watching what\u2019s going on in Beijing right now and the Olympics. Think about the amount of money that China has spent on infrastructure. Their ports, their train systems, their airports are all vastly superior to us now, which means if you\u2019re a corporation deciding where to do business, you\u2019re starting to think, Beijing looks like a pretty good option.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, this is breathtakingly politically stupid. I don\u2019t care how hateful you are of America, there are just certain things that you\u2019re not going to be able to pass off to people. China, a better place to live than the United States of America? Well, maybe if you don\u2019t mind pollution controls that don\u2019t exist. Maybe if you don\u2019t care that people are employed at slave-labor wages — and maybe, if you don\u2019t care that construction standards in the countryside are so slipshod and shallow that they allow of collapse of thousands of buildings, including schools, so that when an earthquake hits it killing tens of thousands of people — if that stuff just doesn\u2019t bother you, then I guess maybe China does look pretty good to you. <\/p>\n

Now, the Anointed One has said a lot of stupid things recently, but the idea that totalitarian eye candy engineering proves that Beijing is better than America is near the top of the list. This guy got all of his information from watching the Olympics. Of course, the stuff that they have put on the Olympics, the venues that they built, yeah, ‘eye candy\u2019 is exactly what it is, like that Birds Nest stadium and the swimming cube and all these other places, but who in the world\u2019s out here telling The Messiah that China\u2019s living standards are far away better than ours, infrastructure is far better than ours? Well, who\u2019s telling him this? Or does he just think it? Lorie Byrd today, Townhall.com, has a really good column, the case against Obama in his own words, and she says that some of these gaffes that he makes are not really gaffes. They\u2019re stupidity. <\/p>\n

‘Last May, he claimed that tornadoes in Kansas killed a whopping 10,000 people: ‘In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.\u2019 The actual death toll: 12. Earlier this month in Oregon, he redrew the map of the United States: ‘Over the last 15 months, we\u2019ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I\u2019ve now been in 57 states. I think one left to go.\u2019 … Last March, on the anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Ala., he claimed his parents united as a direct result of the civil rights movement: ‘There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Ala., because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.\u2019 Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965.\u2019<\/p>\n

So his gaffes go beyond simple slips of the tongue and confusion, and just display a lack of knowledge on important issues. As the case when he commented on the war in Afghanistan, the ‘lack of translators.\u2019 You all remember that. And, you know, here\u2019s something else. Actions speaker louder of words. Lorie Byrd did some research here. ‘According to Obama\u2019s tax returns from 2000-2006, the Obamas have given far less to charity than John McCain has. In all but the two most recent years reported, the Obamas gave around 1% or less of their income to charity. Their contributions increased in 2005 and 2006 to 4.7% and 6.1% respectively, but still are far short of those of McCain who gave 28.6% in 2006 and 27.3% in 2007.\u2019 But what about his concern for ‘the least among us.\u2019 <\/p>\n

Words, words, words, but no deeds, no actions. By the way, in terms of living conditions in China, hundreds of millions of Chinese live in the countryside without regular access to utilities, education, or clean water and modern farming equipment. About half of the Chinese hover right around malnutrition and no education. They cannot feed a billion people! They cannot feed their population. They can put on a good eye candy show and somebody as simpleminded and as oriented toward America loathing as Barack Obama, can come out — and once again, audio sound bite number one, listen to this one more time. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, they don\u2019t have any environmentalist wackos to deal with! They don\u2019t have any big government regulations. They can put up cheap buildings. They can put up all kinds of cheap infrastructure, eye candy. But this guy is salivating over a totalitarian system and the power that the Chinese government has, and he is using that to say they are a better country than the United States. Well, why don\u2019t you go over there and seek the presidency of that country, sir? This next Obama sound bite\u2019s outrageous. This is yesterday in Lynchburg, Virginia.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: We\u2019ve got to send a clear message to Russia and unify our allies that they can\u2019t charge into other countries with impunity. Of course, it helps if we are leading by example on that front.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. So once again, Obama compares our incursion into Iraq as a similar moral equivalent example of the Russians going into Georgia. You have to ask the question: ‘Is he just stupid, or is he pandering here to this wacko, nutcase fringe base of his?\u2019 We spent a year and a half there at the UN. There were 14 resolutions, maybe more. We had allies going into Iraq. We also had some people opposing us. But we just didn\u2019t march in under the cover of darkness when nobody knew it. Hussein knew we were coming. Everyone knew. We had built up the whole thing for a year and a half. We had given Hussein ample time to show that he didn\u2019t have weapons of mass destruction. And this man, the Democrat presidential nominee — who did not even consider Hillary Clinton as his number two, this man — has the audacity, twice in one day, to compare the United States to both Russia and China, and in both instances finds the United States failing, finds the United States in second place. The country that has given him a life and an opportunity he could have found in no other country on this planet, and he is not grateful for a single thing this has done for him. He has a sense of entitlement, apparently. I don\u2019t understand the lack of gratitude somebody like Obama has for the greatest place on earth. I can certainly understand there are America haters out there and he is obviously one of them, but it makes no sense politically to seek the presidency of the United States broadcasting the fact that you hate your own country. That\u2019s why I question the political acumen and general baseline intelligence here that this little man-child operates from.<\/p>\n

First, you sort of beat me to it, but I wanted to make the point that China is a nation that\u2019s filled with starving rural people that barely have enough food to eat. And they have terrible medical care, if they get any. That\u2019s my first point. Barack Obama just conveniently doesn\u2019t know his facts. He\u2019s living in a fantasy world, like most of the liberals out there. Number two, I wanted you to know, and your public to know that I just went into a Borders bookstore today on the north side of Chicago to buy some books to take on vacation. Not one on John McCain. The first floor has many Barack Obama books. In fact, there\u2019s a special section in the store with a sign dedicated to Obamamania.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, of course, it\u2019s Chicago. Everybody knows that Mayor Daley runs the bookstores and the magazine stands. Mayor Daley runs everything, runs Obama, for crying out loud. One other thing about China, and this is I\u2019m sure something else Obama really admires. The one-child policy. Chinese couples are allowed one child because they can\u2019t feed all of their people, and most people want a son, and if they are pregnant with a daughter, what do they do? They abort! And they keep aborting until they get a son. Now, that\u2019s a policy Obama can support! That\u2019s a policy Obama likes. He\u2019s for infanticide. It is not an overstatement to say so. He\u2019s got two daughters, I know, but liberals, Snerdley, they exempt themselves from their own stupidity, from their own danger. Now, somebody ought to ask him, ‘Senator Obama, when did you and your wife Michelle (My Belle) Obama decide that your daughters were human beings? At what point did they have human rights, Senator?\u2019 This guy is a dangerous joke, an absolute dangerous joke. I\u2019m sitting here, folks, I\u2019m loving this. I still can\u2019t get over the fact that this diss of Hillary and Bill Clinton is the largest show of disrespect the Democrat Party has shown these two ever in their lives. I\u2019ll tell you something, there\u2019s tension between these two, and you know it ain\u2019t about policy, \u2019cause they don\u2019t disagree much on policy. It\u2019s personal, and it\u2019s only going to get worse. When this gets out, once the Hillary babes find out the true nature of this show of lack of respect, what a time to be a spectator in politics. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s out there praising China with rampant abortions, no labor unions, child labor and slave wages, and he compares favorably China to the United States. ‘Look at all the money they spent on infrastructure.\u2019 Look at the money we\u2019ve spent on people in the last 30 years, Obama. Look at the money we spent on people all over the world. Look at the money we spend on ourselves. He\u2019s an ingrate. He\u2019s an uninformed ingrate. CALLER: First time I\u2019ve been able to call in and finally get hold of you. My name is Mike from Mansfield. I am a registered Democrat but I consider myself I guess more middle of the road. I\u2019m for who\u2019s the best guy for the job, or I should say best ‘person.\u2019 My comment is this. I don\u2019t trust Obama at all, and, you know, he\u2019s very articulate when he has paperwork in front of him that\u2019s written for him, but you get him on a conversation where he doesn\u2019t have anything in advance, and he\u2019s lost.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, he\u2019s not lost. Well, he\u2019s lost, but we get the real Obama. That\u2019s what we get. We don\u2019t get the script; we get the real Obama. We find out — when he makes comment like he made about China — the real Obama. That\u2019s the real Bill Ayers. That\u2019s the real Jeremiah Wright. That\u2019s the real Harvard professor class that taught him. That\u2019s the real Obama.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, he brings up a comment about — or tries to make a correlation between Iraq and Russia. Number one, Russia invaded Georgia. We liberated a country. We took care of Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hold on! Hold just a second. Somebody get the nitroglycerin. Heart attack! I just had a Democrat on this program praise and get right what happened in Iraq. <\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is a first. It is a first. I\u2019m now starting to question whether you\u2019re telling me the truth about being a Democrat.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know, I believe what I believe, and not all Democrats are necessarily —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Kooks?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — have all the same beliefs. (laughter) But myself, I believe in people\u2019s rights. I think Obama gets in there, we\u2019re going to lose a lot of rights, especially if he thinks China has it going on. And secondly, I wanted to correct you on something. I\u2019ve heard you call Obama ‘The Messiah\u2019 many times.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think you\u2019re mistaken on what he would be classified as. I think the best term would be ‘antichrist.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I don\u2019t want to go there. <\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Don\u2019t want to go there. The Messiah is a humorous term and used in this context because that\u2019s what he\u2019s trying to portray himself as: The Anointed One. ‘I\u2019m the one you\u2019ve been waiting for,\u2019 is what he means when he says, ‘We\u2019re the ones we\u2019ve been waiting for.\u2019 I\u2019m the one you\u2019ve been looking for. He\u2019s full of it. This guy has bought it. He\u2019s bought it all. It\u2019s an amazing thing to watch. Look, Mike, it\u2019s great to hear from you out there. You\u2019re right about pretty much everything you said.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is a political moron. You don\u2019t say this! Even if you think, this you don\u2019t say it. Yeah, if you like child labor laws, if you like slum housing, if you like cheaply built housing that will not stand a category three earthquake, if you like people being kicked out of their houses to build these little eye candy Olympic venues for television, and if you like forced labor, if you like the one child per family policy; well, then I guess you would like China. But to sit here and put China ahead of your own country and try to make people think they care more about their people than Bush cares about us \u2019cause look at all the money? Obama, let me tell you, George Bush has done more for the people of Africa than you have done combined for all of your half siblings that live there. <\/p>\n

The least among us, sir? By the way, do you know, who runs the ports in Hong Kong and in China? Who do you think runs the ports? (laughing) That\u2019s right! A whole bunch of those fabulous ChiCom ports are run by Dubai Ports World! ‘Based in Hong Kong, the Asia-Pacific regional headquarters is responsible for all existing operations and development throughout the region. Uniquely, it has responsibility for three logistics centered in Hong Kong, Yantian, and Shanghai.\u2019 Dubai Ports World runs the ports that Obama praises in China. Oh, and one more. You need to hear this if you didn\u2019t hear this. This is Obama yesterday in Lynchburg, Virginia. This is audio sound bite number two, Mike. (silence) You\u2019re looking for audio sound bite number two.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: We\u2019ve got to send a clear message to Russia and unify our allies that they can\u2019t charge spew other countries with impunity. Of course, it helps if we are leading by example on that front.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Once again, the political neophyte man-child moron, Barack Obama, compares our incursion to Iraq with the Russians\u2019 invasion of Georgia — and there are no moral equivalences, and there are no similarities. Did the Russians go to the United Nations? Are the Georgians in violation of 15 or 16 UN resolutions? Did the Russians seek allies at the United Nations for this invasion? There\u2019s no comparison whatsoever. They went in to conquer Georgia and South Ossetia. We went to liberate the Iraqi people. And this moron doesn\u2019t know the difference. This is why senators make lousy presidential candidates. This is the kind of thing you can say all day long in the Senate and nobody will hear it. <\/p>\n

But after you\u2019ve been in the senate for three or four terms, about that point, you have enough experience and smarts to know not to say something like this. Joe Biden would still say something like this, but he\u2019s about the only guy who would. Essentially, what Obama is saying is that Russia is learning from our example! They\u2019re just following our example. In truth, Russia is not responding to the Iraq war or Afghanistan. What\u2019s really got Russia mad in terms of our foreign policy is Kosovo. Kosovo was not a situation where the US was helping and supplying one side in a civil war. The US charged militarily into that country without any UN approval and carved a country away from Russian influence! <\/p>\n

That\u2019s exactly what we did, under the guise of NATO and to end ethnic cleansing. Russia opposes the spread of Western democracy and those newly democratic countries desiring to come into the NATO umbrella. We are trying to spread democracy, Obama. You know, it\u2019s easy to laugh at this stuff but if you stop and think about it, you get seriously mad. So I guess we need to ask Obama if he opposes the Kosovo campaign or the spread of democracy, and the desire of these countries to have some relationship with NATO. ‘Cause he\u2019s just equated Georgia and Russia in a moral sense, they\u2019re both guilty. Of course, we\u2019re the only ones guilty when it comes to Iraq. <\/p>\n

RUSH: It does, the phrase does apply to a lot of American leftists. He may be at the top of the list today, though, but the problem with him is that he\u2019s close to being in a position of power to implement this kind of ignorance. It is really frightening some things this guy said just this week. But this business about China, look to China, they\u2019re the ones doing it right, look at all the money they\u2019re spending on infrastructure while our infrastructure is falling apart. There\u2019s nothing in China that the average Chinese citizen wants to live in, it\u2019s so shoddily constructed. It\u2019s outrageous and offensive, and dumb. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello, Rush. I was into Rush before Rush was cool. Hey Rush, I work for an international shipping company. Obama I think said — I\u2019m paraphrasing — I think he said US companies would be looking to Beijing?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, he did. <\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s absurd, Rush. Nobody\u2019s looking to Beijing. All the manufacturing base in China is in inland China, number one. Number two, the infrastructure. He said that China\u2019s infrastructure was better than the USA\u2019s. This guy really scares me, Rush. It scares me to death. That is absurd, absolutely absurd.<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: I know. I know it is. Look, you know, if you like these eye candy little construction projects for the Olympics, if you like people being kicked out of their homes to have these eye candy projects built, if you like no pollution controls whatsoever, if you like constant smog, if you like construction policies so inept they can\u2019t stand a category three earthquake or something, where 10,000 people die, China might be the place for you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But, Rush, what scares me the most is he has no idea of international business. I don\u2019t need to tell you, it may sound rudimentary to say that the world is getting smaller. But it is, and any business manager, any manufacturing manager knows that now is the time to look to India and Vietnam, not Beijing. Nobody looks to Beijing. I hope I\u2019m not splitting hairs Rush, but he did say Beijing, didn\u2019t he?<\/p>\n

RUSH: He did say Beijing, but to him Beijing is the seat of government, and that\u2019s how Obama sees countries. He sees governments; he doesn\u2019t see countries. So he doesn\u2019t see the outskirts. He just sees Beijing is where the people like him live.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Nothing\u2019s manufactured in Beijing. Hey, but this is one of my points, Rush. This scares me to death. He\u2019s talking about change. I am scared. I don\u2019t want things to change. He just does not know what he\u2019s talking about. This is unbelievable that a presidential candidate would make a statement like this. China\u2019s infrastructure is better than USA? Has he ever been there? Did you know that the last time I was in China I did not go to the outlying areas? You know why? Because one of my customers was 75 miles away from Hong Kong, but it takes about three or four hours to get there. I didn\u2019t have that much time.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, they\u2019ve got people starving. They can\u2019t feed all of their people. As I have mentioned on this program, the biggest challenge that the Chinese, the ChiCom premier has is creating 25 million new jobs a year precisely in these outlying provinces that you\u2019re describing. He\u2019s got to keep those people there. His cities are overrun. He cannot afford more people coming into the cities, there isn\u2019t work for them. He can\u2019t control them if they leave the countryside, they get educated and so forth, the worst thing could happen to the ChiCom leadership. Look, you join the crowd here on everybody being scared, angry, just mystified that this guy has become the Democrat Party\u2019s presidential nominee. Folks, I\u2019m going to tell you, there have to be some Democrats that are scratching their heads over this, too. And I mean Democrats that are going to be at this convention. He may be saying things a lot of them agree with, but some of them know you don\u2019t say this stuff. We\u2019re lucky to have this because the cameras had shut down yesterday when he said this. They\u2019d all broken down. That little town meeting he had with The Eyebrow, Tim Kaine, was near its end. This was one of the last things that he said.
