RUSH: This is just a tune, a song recorded by the artist Ludacris who is — I guess he\u2019s on Obama\u2019s iPod. Obama likes the guy. Let me translate some of this for you in case you weren\u2019t able to hear it all. ‘Hillary hated on you so that [b-i-]itch is irrelevant,\u2019 is how it began. ‘McCain don\u2019t belong in ANY chair unless he\u2019s paralyzed. Yeah, I said it, \u2019cause Bush is mentally handicapped. I do. We need more of this. McCain does have an ad. Let\u2019s go sound bite 23 here. This ad has video of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. But it\u2019s not them endorsing McCain. This is an ad that questions whether or not Obama is ready for leadership, and it\u2019s a juxtaposition of photos of the throng of 200,000 in Germany at the Victory Column with little shots of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. It\u2019s designed to make the audience appear to be just a bunch of pop culture bozos who have no substance to them whatsoever. Here\u2019s the audio of the ad.<\/p>\n

FEMALE ANNOUNCER: He\u2019s the biggest celebrity in the world. But is he ready to lead? With gas prices soaring, Barack Obama says ‘no\u2019 to offshore drilling and says he\u2019s raising taxes on electricity? Higher taxes, more foreign oil. That\u2019s the real Obama.<\/p>\n

MCCAIN: I\u2019m John McCain, and I approved this message.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Just imagine the pictures of the throng of 200,000 there at the Victory Column with it made to look like Britney Spears and what\u2019s-her-face, Paris Hilton, are part of the mix. <\/p>\n

Ladies and gentlemen, quickly, a story today from TIME Magazine. Now, I\u2019ve seen this referenced a number of times. There might be a lazy gene. Those of you who are couch potatoes, there may be nothing you can do about it. You may be genetically wired for that. ‘Have you ever wondered why you can\u2019t get off the couch and exercise — despite paying for an expensive gym membership, despite your New Year\u2019s resolutions, even despite the doctor\u2019s scolding at your last check-up? Turns out that your inertia may be coded right into your genes.\u2019 They\u2019re studying this, ‘J. Timothy Lightfoot, a kinesiologist, and his team at University of North Carolina, Charlotte, suggest that genetics may indeed predispose some of us for sloth. Using mice specially bred and selected according to their activity levels…\u2019 It\u2019s like a pretty long story. <\/p>\n

It talks about how the mice behaved, some genetically predisposed to exercise and some not, and it pretty much (according to the mice behavior) substantiated the findings and the theory behind all of this. But the last paragraph here is what posed the interesting question. ‘Chemistry is not destiny, of course. Lightfoot hopes to use his research to help determine which patients may need a bigger boost to get moving — he thinks that perhaps close supervision by trainers or rewards for exercising will encourage genetic lazybones to get the gym. And maybe one day, he speculates, there might even be a drug to compensate for\u2019 laziness, and then the question is: ‘A drug that makes you want to exercise?\u2019 Would I take such a drug? If they ever have a pill that makes you exercise, makes you want to exercise, would I take it? ‘Cause I hate exercise. I despise it. I hate walking, as I\u2019ve shared with you on many occasions. It\u2019s just a pain all the way around. But if somebody gave me a pill and made me want to exercise? I don\u2019t even want to want to exercise. I don\u2019t think I would take it.<\/p>\n

The Times\u2019 eagle-eyed Harriet Ryan spotted Phil Spector, the famous rock entrepreneur and infamous date showing up for a court hearing in Los Angeles wearing a very obvious ‘Barack Obama Rocks\u2019 pin.\u2019 So from Ludacris (we will continue to play that song, by the way, during the course of the upcoming days) now to Phil Spector endorsing The Messiah, the Most Merciful Lord Barack Obama. <\/p>\n

RUSH: I want to go back to this Ludacris song. Ludacris, of course, a rap artist admired by Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama. This is a song endorsing Obama, but it is the attitude that\u2019s in this song that I think is actually representative of the attitude of many in this country on the left, and perhaps even among those that would serve in an Obama administration. <\/p>\n

The rap artist Ludacris, a giant supporter of Barack Obama. Now, what is the attitude here? I know it\u2019s rap, and the attitude of rap is anger, it\u2019s anger and rage. But isn\u2019t that also the attitude of the Democrat Party today? Elected officials, high-ranking Democrat officials, Democrat voters, kook fringe bloggers, they\u2019re angry, and they\u2019ve been angry since 2000. They are enraged. So the change that Obama talks about is basically, ‘We\u2019re gonna pay you back. We are gonna pay you back for what you stole from us in 2000. We\u2019re going to pay you back. We\u2019re gonna get even. We\u2019re gonna right the injustices that have happened to us, because of what happened in Florida in 2000.\u2019 The change that Obama is talking about is being interpreted by many of the dingbats that want to support him as vengeance, as revenge, and is rooted in hatred. Now, the Ludacris song is a standalone thing, but I think it is exemplary representative of the attitude throughout. It is callous, cold, it is mean-spirited, it\u2019s insulting, and of course this just carries forward the attitude of much of the Democrat political hierarchy, especially since the Iraq war began, but really after Florida 2000. It\u2019s been seven-and-a-half years of it now, if not more. So that\u2019s the change. But when you talk about real change, what would be real change in this country? What would be real change? I have the answers, of course, as I always do. <\/p>\n

This song has been responded to. It\u2019s a rap song. It\u2019s typical. There\u2019s nothing surprising about it. But here\u2019s the statement from the Obama ‘campaign.\u2019 Ahem. ‘As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn\u2019t want his daughters or any children exposed to,\u2019 said spokesman Bill Burton. ‘This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual, he should be ashamed of these lyrics,\u2019 and everybody is going, ‘Oh, wow! (clapping) Man, Obama, they shut this down!\u2019<\/p>\n

Obama didn\u2019t say anything! As usual, Obama hasn\u2019t condemned anything. Bill Burton did! By the way, it may have happened, but I haven\u2019t heard Obama condemn all those rap lyrics that often. Have you heard him condemn rap lyrics? Now, I don\u2019t read People, and I don\u2019t read US Weekly, and I don\u2019t watch E! Entertainment Weekly or whatever these 6:30, 7:30 p.m. little mindless entertainment shows are. So, you know, when the Obama family was exposed on television, he may have said he didn\u2019t like rap lyrics. He may have said it in his book. I haven\u2019t read the books. But I haven\u2019t heard him making these statements. He may have said it at the NAACP convention. I haven\u2019t heard it. All I know is Obama did not condemn this, Bill Burton did. Obama met with Ludacris in 2006, in November of 2006 to discuss things, and then in Obama Chicago office. They discussed things. They had many important things to discuss. Ludacris\u2019 political activism and some programs, typical mindless pap charities.
