RUSH: This is funny.  A journalist, a female journalist walked into Bloomingdale\u2019s the other day and got triggered and tweeted, “Hey, Bloomingdale\u2019s, this is not funny.  This isn\u2019t fashionable.  It further delegitimizes hardworking journalists who bring real news to their communities.”<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a mannequin wearing a T-shirt that says, “Fake news.”  A mannequin in Bloomingdale\u2019<\/a>s.  And it\u2019s androgynous.  No, it\u2019s a female.  I take it back. It\u2019s a bald female wearing a yellow T-shirt with “Fake news” on it and the journalist is Allison Kaden, and she says, “This isn\u2019t funny, it\u2019s not fashionable, it further delegitimizes hardworking journalists who bring real news to their communities.”  And there\u2019s… Oh, this is good.<\/p>\n

\"\"You know this guy Tom Steyer, this left-wing billionaire from California who has been funding and underwriting any organization promising to try hard to impeach Donald Trump? He is getting fed up.  He\u2019s getting frustrated.  He has dumped hundreds of millions of dollars into this.  He\u2019s a hedge fund manager, big liberal activist.  He\u2019s committed to seeing Trump impeached and removed from office<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He wants top Democrats to act now to impeach the president.  If they don\u2019t, he\u2019s gonna spend some of his money to get \u2019em removed.  “According to Politico, Tom Steyer plans to target a number of Democrat committee” chairmen and women.  “He\u2019s also considering going after the three highest ranking Democrats:” Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, and Jim Clyburn the Congressional Black Caucasians. “In an interview that he gave to…” Let\u2019s see.  Who did he give the interview to?  I hate journalism.  These people can\u2019t write.  “In an interview…” Who cares where he gave it?<\/p>\n

He “sent out a clear warning shot to powerful Democrats … ‘There\u2019s a gigantic cost to not listening to your constituents. There\u2019s a gigantic cost to thumbing your nose at democracy.'” This guy has spent millions of dollars trying to get Trump impeached.  He has just thrown it away!  He\u2019s a gigantic environmentalist wacko, and now he\u2019s gonna spend even more money to fund primary challengers to Pelosi, Hoyer, and Clyburn.<\/p>\n

A question: Why do so many news stories, so many ideas that the left propose sound like parodies and satire and spoof? “Forbes Contributor Urges \u2018Marshall Plan\u2019 to Save Journalism<\/a> — Journalism, particularly newspaper journalism, is a struggling industry \u2014 beset by lost advertisers and layoffs. Trust for media also ‘is at an all-time low,\u2019 according to the Knight Commission on Trust, Media, and Democracy.<\/p>\n

“Forbes contributor Michael Posner reacted to the Knight Commission report urging a ‘domestic Marshall Plan for journalism.\u2019 He added that ‘democracy demands it.\u2019 The Knight report argued that philanthropy ‘must play a more significant role\u2019 in the future of journalism.” Basically, what this guy is realizing is that journalism as currently practiced can\u2019t cut it in a free market.<\/p>\n

Journalism can\u2019t cut it in a competitive free market.  Journalism can\u2019t figure out how to adapt to the ongoing technological innovation that is occurring throughout this country, and so they want donors. They want the government to come up with money, a Marshall Plan to save journalism. He “called the Knight Foundation\u2019s $50 million American Journalism Project ‘commendable but insufficient.'” That\u2019s no where near enough money.<\/p>\n

\"\"He said, “What is needed is a domestic Marshall Plan for journalism, in which substantial new resources are invested to save traditional newspapers and journalism. This would need to be a bold major initiative on a scale resembling the plan to rebuild post World War II European economies.”  Do you believe this?  This is a parody, right? No!  The guy is dead serious! Every time I see something like this, I look at myself.  What medium am I on?  Radio.<\/p>\n

What have I had to do here to remain a factor in the midst of all of this massive technological innovation? Today, there are more ways that people can reach content that they want than they\u2019ve ever had.  You can try to find it over the air, you can try to find it via podcast, you can try to find it via streaming — and because of this, everybody and their uncle now thinks that they can broadcast over some medium and attract and acquire an audience and become a factor.<\/p>\n

There are more people than ever before engaging in the overall concept of journalism or media.  Some do it in the area of tech.  Some do sports.  Some do politics.  Some do just straight news reporting or media.  Some are in the gaming biz. But it\u2019s everywhere.  Now, why can\u2019t these clowns in print journalism find a way to adapt?  Why can\u2019t they stay relevant?  You know what the answer to this is and has always been? Content, content, content.<\/p>\n

If these clowns in print journalism cannot make it, it\u2019s because people don\u2019t want to read or see or watch what they\u2019re producing!  Pure and simple.  If you have something people want, if you provide something people like and enjoy, they will go wherever they have to to get it.  These people want to be subsidized because they\u2019re lazy, un-adaptive, and couldn\u2019t care less about their customers.  It\u2019s one of the most amazing things about print journalism that I have noticed.  It\u2019s one of the only businesses where the customer is always wrong and doesn\u2019t know diddly-squat about what he\u2019s talking about when he complains.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, if you ask me, Donald Trump is the Marshall Plan for journalism. Try to imagine where these clowns would be without him. Donald Trump has single-handedly focused eyeballs on dryball news outfits. If they can\u2019t make it during this, then they can\u2019t make it. I mean, they are totally opening up and exposing themselves as who they really are, and if they can\u2019t make it being honest, oh-ho-ho. And all these print people.
