RUSH: Grab audio sound bite number 1. Donald Trump\u2019s approval numbers in the CNN poll — and, remember, the objective of all that has been going on since the Trump campaign, since the election, since the transition and into his presidency, the objective of all of this has been to get Trump out of office, to have him removed from office.<\/p>\n

But since there isn\u2019t any Russian collusion, since there isn\u2019t any crime that Trump has committed, that they can find and then prove, what they\u2019ve been trying to do is just flood the zone with one anti-Trump story after another, sometimes five a day, all designed to weaken public support for Trump. To cause his base to abandon him. They are totally invested in this. And, as such, when they fail, they are beside themselves.<\/p>\n

So CNN just released one of their latest polls today, and it shows Trump\u2019s approval numbers at a level they can\u2019t believe. We have here the fill-in host Poppy Harlow talking to the political director David Chalian just this morning on CNN about Trump\u2019s strength in their poll.<\/p>\n

HARLOW: We do have a brand-new CNN poll this morning on how Americans feel about the president. The president\u2019s approval rating stands at 40%. I\u2019m fascinated by this poll. His approval is slightly higher.<\/p>\n

CHALIAN: Take a look at how he stacks up to his predator as they were about to give their third State of the Union address. Take a look here. Only Ronald Reagan in 1983 at this point in his presidency was below where Donald Trump is now. Now, that may give Donald Trump hope. You\u2019ll recall Ronald Reagan went on to win a resounding victory for a second term.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Beside themselves. They can\u2019t figure this out because they have devoted their existence to this. And I am not exaggerating that. The reason for CNN being in bed with the intel community and the FBI and the DOJ and all these other nefarious sources around the world that want to get rid of Trump has been his public opinion numbers, his approval numbers.<\/p>\n

Not only was that the way they got rid of Nixon, they drove his number downs to the twenties, they drove George W. Bush down into the mid- to high thirties. It\u2019s become an objective. The thirties are the line of demarcation. If they can get below that, then they can get rid of the guy. And that\u2019s what they have been singularly devoted to.<\/p>\n

And I want to give just as a heads-up, the Mueller report is going to be purposed the exact same way, folks. If you read — and I don\u2019t expect most people will — if you read the indictment of Roger Stone, it becomes crystal clear what Mueller\u2019s report is going to be. And I\u2019ll just sum it up for you. There isn\u2019t a crime. There is no crime that Trump has committed, not the least of which is collusion with Russia. There isn\u2019t any. There is no collusion. There is no proof of collusion. The report is not going to say there is.<\/p>\n

The report… But this indictment of Stone… My friend Andy McCarthy pointed this out to me<\/a>. You read that indictment of Roger Stone and you know what it is? It\u2019s a story. It reads like a chapter in a novel. An indictment doesn\u2019t have to prove anything. A narrative indictment — and there is an actual term for that in legal circles, and that\u2019s what this is. A narrative indictment is where… Rather than offer the evidence all of crime and what you think is the proof of the crime and the perp who committed it, a narrative indictment is where you just tell a story where the person indicted is a figure, is part of the story.<\/p>\n

And the way this is gonna work… Like the narrative in this indictment is that Donald Trump wanted to know what WikiLeaks had on Hillary Clinton and the Podesta emails. So Roger Stone was dispatched to find out. It doesn\u2019t say Trump told Stone to go visit. Roger Stone was dispatched to find out. Roger Stone then got hold of his buddy Jerome Corsi who then got hold of his buddy Credico, who then got hold of Assange. They create this whole narrative that doesn\u2019t prove anything. It just continues the story that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.<\/p>\n

Imagine a report that is hundreds of pages of this, and then you\u2019re the media. So you report, “Mueller\u2019s report says that this and that went on, collusion with Russia — and they got guilty pleas! They got guilty pleas from Manafort. They got guilty pleas from whoever they got convictions on, Flynn…” So what you end up with is a gigantic narrative of something that did not happen that is substantiated with either pleas or convictions of all the people you got in process crimes!<\/p>\n

When CNN, for example, reports on the Mueller report, they\u2019re not gonna say that Roger Stone pled guilty to something unrelated to the premise. They\u2019re just gonna say, “Roger Stone pled guilty,” after telling the story of what we think happened but we can\u2019t prove it but we\u2019re pretty sure and here\u2019s what we think happened and this was going on — and in the midst of it we found and secured guilty pleas from them. So the media is gonna say, “There was collusion! It says there right in the report! Look, Stone pled guilty! Flynn pled guilty!” Or whatever. “Manafort pled guilty!”<\/p>\n

It\u2019s clear as day what they\u2019re doing here. Even though there\u2019s no collusion, they\u2019re gonna write a report that tells the story of what it would have been had it happened, and then you go get these pleas from people. You charge people like Manafort and Stone and Flynn just so that you can report on convictions or guilty pleas, which then frees the media to relate the two, even though they won\u2019t be related in the report. So the report gets written that there was possible collusion, and we think we got pretty close \u2019cause look at the people we convicted or pled guilty to it.<\/p>\n

The purpose of this is to continue to create doubt. “The idea that Trump colluded with Russia? We may not have been able to prove it here, but he clearly wanted to and he clearly set the stage for the Russians to have an impact on the election because of his incompetence and his inexperience.” It\u2019s all gonna be designed to, hopefully, cause people who currently support Trump to abandon him. They were hoping for this to happen before the midterms. The reason Mueller hasn\u2019t closed up shop is because there\u2019s now a new election, 2020.<\/p>\n

In fact, I have it on good author… Well, I don\u2019t know. Should I tell you? Yeah. I\u2019ve got it on good authority that Mueller\u2019s mostly (sigh), not checked out, but that he\u2019s not the driving force of this things right now, that Weissmann is. But it\u2019s pure politics, folks. This whole report, this whole indictment — all of this — is 100% pure politics under the guise of serious law enforcement. It is exactly what we have always thought it was. It was a hoax and it is a cover-up of the people who actually did collude with Russia and authorize that collusion like Obama and Clapper and Brennan and all that.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s insidious. It remains totally… Everybody, everybody involved in this, from Mueller to Weissmann know that there was no collusion. They know it. Their indictment of Stone, contrary to their dreams, proves there\u2019s no collusion. Why would Trump need Stone to go find out what Julian Assange had? If he was colluding with Russia, he would know what Assange had because the Russians supposedly gave it to Assange. Assange denies it, but the report\u2019s gonna say that he did.<\/p>\n

The Russians did, and that Trump was colluding and knew. So why would he have to have anybody go find out what Julian Assange had and what was coming? He would have known. Why use Roger Stone? I mean, this is all… The point is, these people don\u2019t care about Manafort. They don\u2019t care about Stone. They don\u2019t care about Flynn. These are just people who will either plead guilty or be convicted of something unrelated, just so the report can secure guilty pleas when matched against the narrative they\u2019re going to tell about collusion that did not happen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
