RUSH:\u00a0 Let me… I\u2019ll tell you what.\u00a0 Let me stay state what that is, because I was gonna get to this yesterday and I didn\u2019t. That\u2019s why I\u2019m glad you called about it.\u00a0 Let me make sure people know what you\u2019re talking about.\u00a0 Brokaw was on Meet the Press Sunday, and he said that Hispanics need to work harder at assimilation. Illegal immigrants, Hispanic immigrants to America need to do a better job of becoming Americans.\u00a0 He was tarred and feathered on Twitter.<\/p>\n

Twitter did what it does, it “blew up,” and Brokaw was being called a racist and a pig.\u00a0 He said, “It\u2019s one of the things I\u2019ve been saying for a long time.\u00a0 You know, they ought not just be codified in their communities.\u00a0 Make sure that all their kids are learning to speak English, that they feel comfortable in the communities. They need to assimilate,” and he has now apologized.\u00a0 He didn\u2019t mean to offend.\u00a0 He\u2019s totally taken it back.\u00a0 Now, what is your comment? This is not… This is not insignificant at all.\u00a0 This is big.\u00a0 What is your point on this?<\/p>\n
CALLER:\u00a0 Well, I just was, like, I couldn\u2019t believe that he had to apologize for being correct.<\/p>\n
RUSH:\u00a0 Exactly!\u00a0 He was exactly right.\u00a0 This is what every immigrant to America used to do!\u00a0 It\u2019s what they wanted to do.\u00a0 They wanted to become Americans.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 He\u2019s from a generation where that happened. He said it\u2019d be fine if that\u2019s what they were doing. He got tarred and feathered by his own side, had to get his mind right.\u00a0 He apologized rather than suffer the grief, rather than suffer…<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 When you\u2019ve got to apologize for being right, when the left is able to force you to apologize for being right and force you to say, “That\u2019s not who I am.\u00a0 I not what I really believe. I\u2019m…”\u00a0 People need to stop being afraid of this, but that\u2019s easier said than done.\u00a0 You know, it dovetails with something I was hoping to get to today but I\u2019m not gonna have time to.\u00a0 I\u2019ll just give you a little hint, \u2019cause I\u2019m gonna do this tomorrow.\u00a0 It dovetails exactly with what I was just talking about here with Brokaw.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s time to blow up the bureaucracy that\u2019s killing America, the bureaucratic mind-set.\u00a0 Instead of feeling free to do what we think is right, we go through the day looking over our shoulder scared to death of the authorities.\u00a0 “Are they monitoring? Are they watching? Is everything I do legally correct?” All this. They\u2019ve created this among the citizenry, this fear, and I can\u2019t tell you how that frustrates me every time I encounter it!\u00a0 It bugs the hell out of me, in fact.\u00a0 But I have to wait \u2019til tomorrow to talk about that.<\/p>\n
