Who is she?\u00a0 She\u2019s a meteorologist at the Today show.\u00a0 That\u2019s right.\u00a0 Now, this is interesting theory, what she\u2019s gonna say.\u00a0 Dylan Dreyer just from the Today show today.\u00a0 Listen to this…<\/p>\n

DREYER:\u00a0 We bought a thermometer.\u00a0 We had it in the car earlier this morning.\u00a0 But look at how quickly the temperature has dropped since the thermometer\u2019s been placed outside.\u00a0 It is now, uh, inching closer and closer to 10 below zero.\u00a0 The cold that we\u2019re forecasting hasn\u2019t been felt in more than 20 years, and that means some Millennials have actually never been this cold.<\/p>\n
RUSH:\u00a0 Now, why would you throw that in there? Why would you…? Obviously, she is a Millennial.\u00a0 So we know that they are self-focused, but that\u2019s not unusual.\u00a0 Young people are all self-focused.\u00a0 Young people all think it\u2019s all about them.\u00a0 The Baby Boomers never outgrew that, in fact.\u00a0 We\u2019ve got 70-year-old Baby Boomers today still thinking it\u2019s all about them.\u00a0 But why throw that in there?\u00a0 “Oh, Millennials have never seen it this cold,” and she\u2019s right.\u00a0 You have to go back 20 years.\u00a0 Twenty years ago, everybody was warning about global warming.<\/p>\n
I think the point that Millennials have never been this cold…? (laughing) Millennials have never been this cold, and they\u2019re gonna be shocked because they don\u2019t believe this would ever happen! They believe — I mean, in toto — global warming.\u00a0 They buy it, folks.\u00a0 They buy it hook, line, and sinker.\u00a0 They are convinced.\u00a0 That\u2019s why they go nuts when they get a story that the Chinese have grown seeds on the Moon.\u00a0 They were celebrating!\u00a0 That means there\u2019s gonna be someplace to go once Earth becomes uninhabitable because of climate change.<\/p>\n
“So we don\u2019t have to go to Mars now. We can go to the Moon. The moon\u2019s much closer. We can grow seeds! That means we can grow food and we can colonize the moon.”<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not making any of this up.\u00a0 That\u2019s how they reacted to it.\u00a0 So in midst of all this, the Earth gonna get so boiling hot that life can\u2019t be supported.\u00a0 They\u2019re gonna experience this kind of deep freeze they\u2019ve never experienced.\u00a0 Real-life circumstances have much more impact on people and their thinking than all of the commentary that they would read or hear in their lifetime, and I don\u2019t know if this meteorologist was aware of that herself or if it was just, “My gosh.\u00a0 We Millennials have never been this cold before!\u00a0 This isn\u2019t fair.\u00a0 This so unusual.”<\/p>\n

Here is Bob in Bismarck, North Dakota, as we get back to the phones. Welcome, Bob. I appreciate your patience in waiting.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Thank you. Rush, just checking in from North Dakota. The high today is gonna be 13 below.<\/p>\n
RUSH: That\u2019s the high? That\u2019s the real temp, it\u2019s not the wind chill, that\u2019s the real temp?<\/p>\n
CALLER: We don\u2019t talk about wind chill up here, Rush. That\u2019s nothing. Who cares about that.<\/p>\n
RUSH: He-he-he-he-he.<\/p>\n
CALLER: It\u2019s windy every day up here. You know. Low tonight\u2019s gonna be about 29 below. Tomorrow the high is gonna be about 17 below and tomorrow is gonna be about 31 below. But you know, Rush, what we do in North Dakota when the weather is like this?<\/p>\n
RUSH: No. I mean, I could guess, I could guess, but I want you to tell me.<\/p>\n
CALLER: We get up, we go to work, we go to school. If we need something, we go to the grocery store, we go to the restaurants, we go to the bars. We help each other out. If a lady across the street needs her driveway shoveled out, we go over there and do it. If somebody has a dead car in a parking lot, I have jumper cables in my backseat. We go over and we help her out.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Bob, Bob, hang on, grab sound bite number three. Bob, I want you to listen to this. I want you to tell me if this the kind of stuff you don\u2019t do in North Dakota.<\/p>\n

JOHN DICKERSON: Millions of Americans are at risk for hypothermia and frostbite.<\/p>\n
JENNIFER GRAY: This is incredibly dangerous cold all the way through the Midwest.<\/p>\n
AL ROKER: Five minutes exposed flesh could suffer from frostbite in Chicago, 30 minutes in Cleveland, 30 in St. Louis, 10 in Pierre, five in Minneapolis, and Thursday morning in Syracuse, a half hour you could have frostbite.<\/p>\n
EVA PILGRIM: Try not to breathe so deeply and really limit the amount of talking that you\u2019re doing outside.<\/p>\n
DYLAN DREYER: Your eyeballs can freeze when it\u2019s 40 to 50 below wind-chills. That\u2019s actually true.<\/p>\n
RUSH: So you in Bismarck, you don\u2019t mess with that, you just get up and go about your lives is what you do, right?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, that\u2019s what you have to do, Rush. You know, what else are you gonna do? I mean, if you don\u2019t want winter, don\u2019t live in North Dakota.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, you could stand inside and stand in the corner next to the fire here and lament the suffering that you are enduring.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, and that\u2019s what we do a lot, but at the same time we don\u2019t run around saying, “Why isn\u2019t Trump helping us?” You know, we don\u2019t care about that. We take care of ourselves. And I wish people could kind of learn a little bit.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, I\u2019m gonna be addressing — Bob, I\u2019m running out of time here. I\u2019m sorry — but I\u2019m gonna be addressing this as the program unfolds, this fear of, this dependence on, this, “If government isn\u2019t doing something for us then we\u2019re not safe,” this kind of a mind-set. I know exactly what you\u2019re talking about.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 Let me grab one more phone call here to the polar vortex, the weather that is gripping the Upper Midwest the next couple days.\u00a0 It\u2019s Kathy in Schroeder, Minnesota.\u00a0 Welcome.\u00a0 Great to have you with us.\u00a0 I\u2019m glad you called.<\/p>\n

CALLER:\u00a0 Hi, Rush.\u00a0 Well, mega dittos.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been a fan since you had Punkin the cat, so big fan of yours.<\/p>\n
RUSH:\u00a0 Thank you very, very much.\u00a0 I appreciate that.<\/p>\n
CALLER:\u00a0 I have to say, in 2013 and \u201914, we had the polar vortex.\u00a0 They had it in Chicago, too, I\u2019m pretty sure, and it affected the lower 48 states. We had record lows, record snowfall and record ice cover on the Great Lakes. So Millennials, I\u2019m pretty sure, would remember that.\u00a0 It was only a few years ago.<\/p>\n
RUSH:\u00a0 Now, the National Weather Service is putting out that temperatures have not — real temperatures have not — been this low for 20 years, that the last such polar vortex as this was 20 years ago.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Which would, of course, be way back before 2013.\u00a0 I know there have been polar vortexes between now and 20 years ago, but they\u2019re claiming that this one has… But I still think that the idea that a lot of Millennials have never experienced weather this cold is probably gonna be true, and it\u2019s gonna shellshock \u2019em.\u00a0 It\u2019s gonna shock \u2019em in ways that you and I can\u2019t imagine. Where did you grow up?\u00a0 Minnesota?<\/p>\n
CALLER:\u00a0 In Minnesota.\u00a0 Yep.\u00a0 Born and raised in polar vortex central.<\/p>\n
RUSH:\u00a0 This is nothing new to you.\u00a0 Once you get to 10 to 15 below, it doesn\u2019t matter what\u2019s below.\u00a0 It\u2019s just you don\u2019t want any part of it.<\/p>\n
CALLER:\u00a0 It\u2019s just cold and you deal with it.<\/p>\n
RUSH:\u00a0 You do.<\/p>\n
CALLER:\u00a0 Yep.\u00a0 My husband and I deal.<\/p>\n
RUSH:\u00a0 Well, I grew up in Missouri, and I lived in southeast Missouri; I lived over in Kansas City.\u00a0 The thing about Missouri is it gets the extremes of all four seasons.\u00a0 Tornadoes in the spring. Massive, massive lightning and thunderstorms in the summer with 110-degree heat with high humidity. And then in the winter, we can get 14 to 15 below and 25 inches of snow.\u00a0 And I grew up in all of that.\u00a0 It\u2019s still, though… When you say actual temperatures of minus 25 or 30, I\u2019ve never experienced that.\u00a0 I think the lowest I\u2019d ever been through is minus 14 and whatever the wind chill was.<\/p>\n
But a lot of people haven\u2019t.\u00a0 But you couple this, Kathy… This is really, really not something to downplay.\u00a0 Remember what these young people have grown up thinking.\u00a0 Remember how they have been programmed or inculcated.\u00a0 They really believe the earth is boiling.\u00a0 The people that believe climate change — and it\u2019s not all of them. But those who believe it, really think that we are burning up, that it is getting worse by the year and that by the time they\u2019re 65, the earth will no longer be able to be habitable.<\/p>\n
That it\u2019s gonna get so hot that sea levels will rise! They believe all of this radical insanity.\u00a0 And in a way, you can\u2019t blame \u2019em.\u00a0 It\u2019s all they\u2019ve heard.\u00a0 Saturday morning cartoons (when they were watching those growing up) featured this kind of stuff.\u00a0 The professors, the teachers that they have had have all been drilling stuff into their heads.\u00a0 And so the idea of wind chills of minus 50 and real temperatures of minus 30, I guarantee you they don\u2019t even… I don\u2019t think they know how cold… They think the North Pole is heating up!<\/p>\n

They think the North Pole and the South Pole are melting, Kathy!\u00a0 I am not exaggerating here.\u00a0 They think Greenland is about to melt away like one giant ice cube in a glass of scotch.\u00a0 They believe this stuff.\u00a0 So that\u2019s why that meteorologist babe was going on and on about, “Millennials have never been this cold,” and they\u2019ve never pondered it possible to be this cold.\u00a0 Now, what, if any, impact — and, by the way, it\u2019s not gonna hit the Millennials in California, and it\u2019s not gonna hit them… I mean, Missouri is the bottom of the polar vortex here.<\/p>\n
For example, New York and Boston are gonna be in the twenties.\u00a0 They\u2019re not gonna get a dime of this.\u00a0 This really is a… They call it a vortex because the shape of this thing is a V, and it goes from Montana and Wyoming. Down into Iowa is really the bottom of the worst.\u00a0 And then the line on the west side would go up through Chicago and into Canada.\u00a0 It\u2019s gonna include Minnesota, upper Illinois.\u00a0 But where I grew up in Cape Girardeau, they\u2019re barely gonna hit zero, which is not unusual.<\/p>\n
Nobody in Missouri\u2019s freaking out over this.\u00a0 But the Millennials who live in these places that are gonna be affected by this are going to be shocked by it.\u00a0 And, by the way, Millennials just dealing with it is not how they\u2019ve been raised.\u00a0 To deal with it?\u00a0 No! They\u2019ve been raised to be blaming somebody for it and demanding a fix for it, that somebody do something about it.\u00a0 And if nobody does anything about it, they must be Republicans.<\/p>\n
If nobody does anything about it, it must mean nobody cares.\u00a0 What they\u2019re gonna be told now is that, “Well, this polar vortex is doing nothing different except moving Arctic air south.”\u00a0 And they\u2019re gonna say, “This is because of climate change!”\u00a0 They\u2019re gonna bombarded with continued lies about what a polar vortex is, as though it\u2019s something that hasn\u2019t happened before, it\u2019s new to global warming — and, in effect, it\u2019s being caused by CO2 and fossil fuels.<\/p>\n
Because that\u2019s how they\u2019ve been raised and educated, that every weather pattern that appears to be the slightest bit abnormal (which is every one of them) is due to climate change.\u00a0 But it\u2019s still true that they will not have experienced these kinds of temperatures.\u00a0 And when you put it together with they think the North Pole and the South Pole are melting, that they don\u2019t even think these kinds of temperatures are there, it is a shock to their systems in more ways than one.\u00a0 Thanks for the call.\u00a0 I appreciate it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
