RUSH: Hi, Denise. How are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m fine. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Never better.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good. (chuckles) I\u2019m just calling because I\u2019m saying, ‘Are you serious about this statement by Clark?\u2019 Like, no one cares about what people are saying about McCain or Obama? (giggles) We are suffering as American people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I might have missed something here. Nobody cares about McCain or Obama?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, what… Nobody is saying what (whispering) Nobody is — Nobody cares about what they\u2019re saying about McCain or Obama. This is what I\u2019m saying.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute. Nobody…? You mean nobody cares who the next president is going to be?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. That\u2019s not what I said. I said, ‘Nobody is caring what people are saying about McCain or Obama.\u2019 People are interested in who\u2019s going to be the next president.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, if nobody cares —<\/p>\n

CALLER: So — so — so what I\u2019m saying is nobody cares about these little statements people are saying. Nobody cares about that as American people. We\u2019re suffering as American people. People are losing their jobs.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, my problem here is, ladies and gentlemen, I\u2019m a literalist, and Denise here is speaking, uh, ‘female\u2019 to me. I don\u2019t speak female.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it — it — it doesn\u2019t matter how you think I\u2019m speaking, because —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — it\u2019s the point of what I\u2019m saying is —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No! (sigh)<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and I\u2019m going to get my point across — (garbled). <\/p>\n

RUSH: I hope so.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think that you\u2019re spinning. You need spend less energy on what people are saying about each other in this (garbled). Let\u2019s speak to the politics of each candidate. What politics of candidates work to your advantage? That is the ideal independent.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, it\u2019s… (sigh) Heh, heh, heh.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m just saying. I\u2019m just saying.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Now you\u2019re saying… Now you\u2019re doing the sexist female.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, I\u2019m not doing the sexist — like I don\u2019t — <\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m just saying.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t speak ‘cat,\u2019 either.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I\u2019m just — I\u2019m just saying. This is what I\u2019m saying.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Denise, I really want to understand what you\u2019re saying. My problem is, I\u2019m telling you I\u2019m a logical, literalist, and what you\u2019re saying is nobody should pay attention to what people like Wesley Clark or anybody else is saying about Barack or —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Let\u2019s stick to — let\u2019s stick to — let\u2019s stick to the politics.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me finish!<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s what I\u2019m saying. It\u2019s not about all this. We are suffering as American people, and this is what I\u2019m saying. It doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Um, I\u2019ll try again. What I hear you saying is that nobody… Maybe I should start, ‘Because the American people are suffering, because there\u2019s real pain and hurt and suffering in America, that nobody should pay attention to what anybody says about Barack Obama or John McCain?\u2019 Is that right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, well, all I\u2019m just saying is, you know, I\u2019ve covered this —<\/p>\n

RUSH: (sighing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and I\u2019m an independent, and I\u2019m looking —<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and I\u2019m looking and I\u2019m seeing, which candidate I\u2019m going to vote for, because I do need a president that\u2019s going to do something.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, you do. No, no, you don\u2019t need a president.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, we could —<\/p>\n

RUSH: If you think you need a president we\u2019re in deep doo-doo. But bottom line is this. You\u2019re going to vote for whoever you\u2019re going to vote for but nobody is supposed to talk about them! We\u2019re not supposed to react to what anybody says about them, which follows then we\u2019re not supposed to talk about them ourselves.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, because you guys are reacting. You\u2019re reacting as the media. You\u2019re reacting. You reacted a whole lot. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh! Oh! Oh!<\/p>\n

CALLER: So now you want to say (chuckles) <\/p>\n

RUSH: I think now you have reached me. I think now you are suggesting that reacting to what the media reports say about Wesley Clark saying about McCain is a waste of time, because nobody cares about Wesley Clark.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Nobody is saying anything about the statement of Clark. <\/p>\n

RUSH: (groans)<\/p>\n

CALLER: This is what I\u2019m saying. It\u2019s not important. We\u2019re suffering as American people, and this is all I\u2019m saying.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So let\u2019s stick to — let\u2019s stick to the policies of each person. I haven\u2019t heard you say anything about these policies so I can vote —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, come on, now. Don\u2019t start with me on that, Denise.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — so that I can vote for the right candidate, right?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Denise? You want to know who to vote for?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I know who you going to say I\u2019m going to vote for, but I\u2019m saying give me the policies. Give me the policies is all I can say.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I have! I do it every day on this program. We can\u2019t afford Barack Obama. You\u2019re already suffering. You want to suffer some more, vote Obama. You want to suffer financially even more, vote Obama. <\/p>\n

CALLER: So, so, so you think — <\/p>\n

RUSH: I do discuss the policies. There\u2019s no question about it. But in discussing what people say? This is a campaign, and the Obama people are trying to destroy McCain. It is not irrelevant what Obama\u2019s little hack surrogates are saying. It is not irrelevant whatsoever. The idea that we\u2019re suffering? Yeah, I know. But this is all part of the mix. This is… This is… Well, I don\u2019t want to get sexist here. If I say what I\u2019m going to say, people are going to think it\u2019s just a sexist reaction. It\u2019s not a sexist reaction. It\u2019s just men and women\u2019s brains are different, and they just hear things differently. I just don\u2019t want all this confrontation. I just don\u2019t want all this, ‘Can\u2019t we stick to the issues? Can\u2019t we just get along? Can we just be nice to each other.\u2019 I admit that one of us is going to lose and be happy about it and move on. Can we just do that? Do we have to have all these arguments all the time? Can I just turn on the TV and have it work rather than understanding how? <\/p>\n

Can I just elect a president without understanding what he\u2019s going to do? Can\u2019t we just do this so we have as little consternation as possible \u2019cause we\u2019re suffering out here? I don\u2019t mean that as a sexist comment, but frankly, it\u2019s why the soccer mom phenomenon works. It\u2019s why the NASCAR mom thing works. It\u2019s why the liberals continually, every election, try to identify a certain middle-, upper-middle-class female archetype and suggest that she will be the primary beneficiary of Democrat policies because she\u2019s suffering, too, and her own husband doesn\u2019t care. Bill Clinton loved those soccer moms more than their own husbands. He understood the challenges of their lives, getting \u2019em dressed, fixing breakfast, taking \u2019em to school, picking \u2019em up, going to soccer practice — and the whole while driving a gas-guzzling SUV and feeling guilty as sin about it. Somebody had to help these women, was the Democrats that were going to do it. It\u2019s the same thing now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
