The bottom line is this: &#8216;Despite persistently high oil prices, global energy demand will grow by 50 percent over the next two decades with continued heavy reliance on environmentally troublesome&#8230;\u2019 This is AP, by the way, H. Josef Hebert writing it\u2019s &#8216;environmentally troublesome fossil fuels.\u2019 Environmentally troublesome? What else is there? I get so frustrated here reading this stuff, because here you have a truth: energy demand and growth is going to skyrocket. There\u2019s no other way around it. That makes total sense.<\/p>\n<p>There are more people and societies and populations that are becoming modernized. It makes total sense that this would happen. We can\u2019t conserve our way out of this, and the rest of the world is going to do whatever it has to do to find the energy that it needs to sustain its growth, because they all want growth; because growth equals prosperity, and prosperity equals power, and they all want more power than they\u2019ve got. In the meantime, we\u2019re in the middle of being slaughtered by many members of our own nation here, Democrat Party leftists who are doing everything they can to help everybody else cut us down to size. While the rest of the world is guiltlessly walking down the path trying to figure out how to get more energy so they can use it, what are we doing? We\u2019re being told to back up. We\u2019re being told to reduce our lifestyles. You can conserve all you want &#8212; you can go get the plastic bags and you can go change your lightbulbs; you can unplug your chargers &#8212; it ain\u2019t going to matter a hill of beans. You can put a windmill in your backyard, and put solar panels on your house. You can go buy some of these electric cars, plug them in, and hope they work. You can do all that, and it isn\u2019t going to matter because conservation does not equal growth. Conservation may make good sense, and I\u2019m not against it, but as a policy for economic growth? Not a chance. Also, from H. Josef Hebert at the Associated Press: &#8216;Majority Democrats in the House of Representatives failed yesterday to resurrect a bill to punish price gouging at the gas pump while maneuvering to block Republican attempts to expand offshore drilling.\u2019 So once again, they wanted to bring up punishing. There have been investigations, after investigations, after investigations. Nobody has ever found instance one of price gouging. They wanted to bring it back up.<\/p>\n<p>Why? They need a villain! That\u2019s Democrat Party politics. That is liberalism. They need a villain. The villain happens to be speculators right now, but they need a villain. Big Oil is not a villain right now. They\u2019ll come back in due course. But they want to bring back this price gouging to make you think they are going to punish who\u2019s responsible for this. In the process, you\u2019re not going to find more gasoline at the pump at a cheaper price. It isn\u2019t going to happen. In the process as well, they tried to stop offshore drilling again, brought up by the Republicans. That\u2019s your Democrat Party. Meanwhile, &#8216;The Bush administration indicated yesterday it had no plans to interfere with negotiations between Iraq and several Western oil giants to boost crude production in Iraq, despite concerns by some Democrats the deal could inflame anti-US sentiments.\u2019 What? The deal could inflame anti-US sentiments? Where? And who cares? This was part of the original Iraq plan! Let them become self-sufficient. They get to do with their oil whatever they want. They\u2019re an oil services company. They don\u2019t drill. It isn\u2019t going to Cheney; it isn\u2019t going to Bush. So now Bush is saying, &#8216;Iraq, you want to make deals with some Western oil companies? Go right ahead,\u2019 and some Democrats worry &#8216;the deal could inflame anti-US sentiments. &#8216;Iraq is a sovereign country, and it can make decisions based on how it feels that it wants to move forward in its development of its oil resources,\u2019 said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. &#8230; The administration\u2019s position puts it at odds with Democratic Sens. Chuck Schumer of New York, John Kerry of Massachusetts and Claire McCaskill of Missouri&#8230;\u2019 Who wrote this? Anne Flaherty of the Associated Press. Once again right in the mix, right in the middle of the disinformation and the attempt to make everything good look sour, we find the Associated Press. I don\u2019t care if it\u2019s H. Josef Hebert. I don\u2019t care whether it\u2019s Anne Flaherty. I don\u2019t care whether it\u2019s Nedra Pickler. Their existence is to pollute the minds of this country in such a way that nobody feels good about their own country.<\/p>\n<p>Who cares what John Kerry thinks? Name me a drop of oil the son of a gun\u2019s ever produced. Chuck Schumer, ditto. Claire McCaskill, ditto. These are oil experts? These are energy experts? &#8216;The administration\u2019s position put it at odds with the Democrat senators [Schumer, Kerry, and McCaskill,] who warned that the deals could fan the perception that US involvement in Iraq was motivated by oil.\u2019 (sigh) You know, I remember the first Gulf War: &#8216;No blood for oil!\u2019 These leftists are going to say that anyway. They\u2019re going to criticize, as they always have, anyway. And, by the way, part of going into Iraq was about getting control of those oil fields for the Iraqis. It\u2019s all part of making them self-sufficient; it\u2019s all part of the Democracy Project. You can agree with that or not, the Freedom Project. You know, it is clear, folks, the Democrat Party and the American left hate oil. They despise oil. Is that rational? No. Why hate oil? John Kerry couldn\u2019t fly around on his wife\u2019s jet without it. He couldn\u2019t drive one of her 14 SUVs without it.
