CALLER: Yeah. Hi, Rush. Yeah, the reason I\u2019m calling is, I… You know, I\u2019m not a big supporter of John McCain, but one of the things that\u2019s kind of getting me to think about voting for him is my concern that Michelle Obama will be the next Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Not true, because Michelle Obama has slave blood. Hillary doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s what makes her better, because of the fact…<\/p>\n

RUSH: What do you mean, the next Hillary Clinton?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hmm?<\/p>\n

RUSH: What do you mean, the next…?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You mean a woman trying to take over when her husband gets someplace?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I think the thing of it is now that the media kind of threw Hillary under the bus, it\u2019s hard to kind of go back after they trashed her and they\u2019re going to need a woman to replace her, and as you well know for the Democrats the only qualifications — well, Barack has none, and so… But, you know, so I think the thing of it is that they\u2019ll need to — I\u2019m maybe talking about not only eight years if Barack were to win, and could win again, but just like Hillary going afterwards. Because the one biggest fear I have, Rush, is this. Let\u2019s say Barack Obama wins.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes?<\/p>\n

CALLER: And then the governor of Illinois — you know, (Obama) is not going to be senator anymore. Who\u2019s going to take his place?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you think they\u2019ll put Michelle Obama in there?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, as I said, she has the ‘qualifications,\u2019 just like Barack did.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They\u2019re not going to… No, no, no, no. They wouldn\u2019t. By the way, given the fact — I forgot to ask a question. I\u2019m not trying to take away from your call. We\u2019ll get back to it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: A quick question here. If the Southern Christian Leadership Conference guy in Atlanta says that Obama has no ‘slave blood\u2019 — <\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — but Michelle does.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, ain\u2019t got no blood. She got blood, slave blood.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Then is Obama going to have apologize for slavery at some point?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I would imagine he would, but it wouldn\u2019t be for — \u2019cause the only slave blood he has, doesn\u2019t he have relatives on his other side that owned slaves?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, ah, ah, bleep that! You can\u2019t talk about that. Who you talking about on the other side? What other side? What do you mean?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, one side of his family.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Which side? Which side? Be specific.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, his, uh, mother\u2019s side.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The white side? <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, we can talk about that. There\u2019s no slave blood on the white side.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right. Well, except they might have owned them. <\/p>\n

RUSH: The other question: Will Obama have to pay reparations if he authorizes them?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well…<\/p>\n

RUSH: To Michelle!<\/p>\n

CALLER: You can get the same write-off there, I imagine, but, you know, yeah. There you have it to her, but, you know, I really think that with Michelle they might really think about grooming her to take over the place that Hillary Clinton had, and even the threat — as I said it scares me to think about if Barack Obama were to win —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s one thing about it. If you\u2019re having trouble, if people are out there with this worry, if you think $4, $4.50 a gallon gasoline is expensive, you can\u2019t afford Obama. I mean, that is the way to run this campaign.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I agree 100 percent.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You can sit here and talk about policy this and that. We can\u2019t afford Barack Obama. We personally, individually cannot afford Barack Obama. Our lifestyles cannot afford him. The tax increases, the price of fuel that\u2019s going to go up, the punishment that he\u2019s going to wreak on the true entrepreneurs in this country, we can\u2019t afford it. We simply can\u2019t afford Barack Obama right now.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Only one problem, though.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What?<\/p>\n

CALLER: John McCain says almost — except for the drilling offshore, he\u2019s almost — the same on many issues. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, except taxes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Except taxes. McCain\u2019s going to make permanent the Bush tax cuts, or is going to try anyway, and he\u2019s not going to raise taxes other than this global warming stuff. We\u2019ll work on that. But we really cannot afford Obama. It\u2019s just that simple.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no, I agree, but the problem of it is, and you\u2019ve talked about this many times, McCain doesn\u2019t differentiate himself enough, and that\u2019s the problem.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hey?<\/p>\n

CALLER: He\u2019s losing a wonderful opportunity.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hey, hey, come on. We\u2019ve gotta give McCain credit. He\u2019s trying. He has shifted on the offshore drilling. He\u2019s taken a position here that will allow a direct contrast between himself and his party and Barack Obama and the Democrats. He says he\u2019s open to perhaps changing his mind on ANWR and so forth. I think he\u2019s going to realize soon that he needs some issues to contrast himself with Obama, and the more Obama makes speeches and policy recommendations, it\u2019s just going to break everybody\u2019s bank. McCain is going to have an opportunity here to draw distinctions between himself and Obama, and he took advantage of it. So, you know, let\u2019s cool it here for a minute and see what follows, and what happens next. In terms of it being very simple, we cannot afford Obama. I would not say that about McCain. Seriously. I would not say we cannot afford John McCain. <\/p>\n

I\u2019m talking about financially, folks. I\u2019m talking about your back pocket. I\u2019m talking about your family budget. I\u2019m not talking about the country\u2019s security. That\u2019s a whole different thing, but you can throw that in there if you want. But I\u2019m speaking economically. If you\u2019re having trouble… Look, there\u2019s a story in the Washington Post today. In Montgomery County, diesel has gone so high that they\u2019re going to start making more kids walk to school when school starts this fall. They\u2019re going to expand the distance kids can walk. We can\u2019t afford Barack Obama! Who\u2019s given us these high prices? Who gas stood in the way of exploration and drilling already that would have allowed us to have our own supply? The Democrat Party! (interruption) I know. Montgomery County is one of the wealthiest counties in the area. I know it is, Mr. Snerdley. I didn\u2019t fall off the turnip truck.<\/p>\n

I know that, but that\u2019s the point. But they\u2019re going to expand the distance that kids can walk school. Now, some people might be saying, ‘Good! I walked to school ten miles in the snow with no shoes when I was a kid.\u2019 We\u2019ve all heard that from our parents and grandparents. You know, walking never hurt anybody except me; I hate it. I\u2019m not in a position where I have to walk to school because I don\u2019t go to school. But kids, that\u2019s what they\u2019re actually talking about doing because the diesel costs have gotten so high. We can\u2019t afford Barack Obama. I\u2019ll tell you, you might want to sit there and blame George W. Bush for high gasoline prices and so forth. It ain\u2019t the Republicans here. Bush has been trying to get ANWR drilling passed for the longest time. Bush has tried to come up with an energy policy that actually produces more energy. The people standing in the way of this are the Democrats, the leftists, and Barack Obama. Paul, thanks for the call. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here is Obama Friday in Jacksonville, Florida, at a press conference, talking about drilling for oil.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: Believe me, if I thought there was any evidence at all that drilling could save people money who are struggling to fill up their gas tanks by this summer or this year or even the next week few years, I would consider it. But it won\u2019t, and John McCain knows that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) What\u2019s John McCain got to do with it? Once again, we are faced here with questions for Senator Obama. When I hear this attitude from him, what I want to say is, who are you, pal? The last thing you did was organize communities in Chicago, and we all know what that means. Then you spent some time in the Senate. You haven\u2019t done much of any substance whatsoever, and now all of a sudden you are the oracle around whom all ideas flow for judgment, Barack gives a thumbs up, Barack gives a thumbs down, and that\u2019s it? ‘If I thought there was any evidence at all that drilling could save people money who are struggling–‘ This is striking in its ignorance. ‘By this summer or this year or even the next few years, I would–‘ Senator Obama, can you tell me what of anything in your energy plan — I assume there\u2019s an energy plan he\u2019s got — what in your energy plan\u2019s going to reduce prices? And what, Senator Obama, is going to produce more energy tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, even the next few years? <\/p>\n

You know, Senator Obama, if I thought there was any evidence that you have the slightest clue what you were talking about when it comes to energy then I might consider what you have to say. But I don\u2019t think anything you\u2019re proposing is going to cut prices or increase supply at all, and you know it. To hell with what John McCain knows. Anti-progress, anti-liberty, anti-freedom. They want you hurting, they want you suffering, they want these prices up even more. They want kids walking to school. They think that\u2019s gonna equal their being elected president. But this is ignorance personified, coupled with arrogance, and arrogance is one of the most off-putting human characteristics, at least to me personally, that I run into. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
