RUSH: Here\u2019s a little side light here. This is happening on C-SPAN or it did happen moments ago. The House immigration committee was having a hearing, and the secretary of Homeland Security was being grilled, was being interrogated, Kirstjen Nielsen.<\/p>\n

\"\"Apparently from my spies who have been watching C-SPAN on this, Democrat representative from Illinois Luis Gutierrez started making fun of and ridiculing people who say “Christmas” instead of “holiday season.” It used to be the other way around. It used to be “Merry Christmas.” It used to be the Christmas season. It used to be Christmas this, Christmas that, and then the politically correct crowd got in gear and said, “That\u2019s discriminatory! Not everybody believes in Christmas. You\u2019re insulting people by saying Christmas.”<\/p>\n

So it became “the holiday season” and became “happy holidays,” and if you said, “Merry Christmas,” somebody climbed in your chili, got mad at you claimed you\u2019re being selfish and discriminatory and you\u2019re bringing other people down, being exclusionary, all these horrible, rotten things. So everybody dutifully started wishing everybody, “Happy holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas,” and it got to the point when you saw somebody or heard somebody say Merry Christmas, it was unique, when it used to be standard operating procedure.<\/p>\n

So now Luis Gutierrez for some reason at this hearing started mocking people who say “Christmas” instead of “holiday season.” And then he said that Donald Trump “would share responsibility for killing Baby Jesus because Baby Jesus had to flee.” It\u2019s a reference to open borders. And then he said, “Thank God there was no wall when Mary and Joseph needed to go to Bethlehem.” For crying out loud!<\/p>\n

Just yesterday this nutcase at New York Magazine, Olivia Nuzzi<\/a> reported that people in the White House, she\u2019s hearing from people in the White House that Donald Trump doesn\u2019t like Christmas parties. You know why Donald Trump doesn\u2019t like Christmas parties? ‘Cause he\u2019s jealous. He\u2019s jealous that all the attention\u2019s focused on Jesus instead of him. Yeah. Donald Trump jealous of Jesus. And that\u2019s why Trump doesn\u2019t like Christmas parties.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s actually reported and it was actually discussed on CNN. The infobabe that she was telling this to, the anchor, believed it. (summarized) “Well, we\u2019ve heard some stories about Trump\u2019s ego. I guess, yeah, he could be jealous of Jesus. It\u2019s a strange thing to hear, but, yeah, I guess it\u2019s not outside the bounds of possibility.” Come on. This is just. (laughing) So now Luis Gutierrez says Donald Trump “would share responsibility for killing Baby Jesus.” Immigration didn\u2019t kill Baby Jesus.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s he talking about here? Jesus had to flee? Thank God there was no wall? And then he accused Kirstjen Nielsen of lying on the policy of separating mothers from their children at the border, which is another made up lie by the Democrats that the media dutifully report as though it\u2019s common practice every day. And that\u2019s worked too. I\u2019ve had, I can\u2019t tell you the number of Republicans say, “The pictures are really bad, Rush.”<\/p>\n
