CALLER: Hi, Rush. Good morning.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: First of all, I promise I won\u2019t be one of those silly rambling females that irritate you so.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute. Who ever said this, that females are silly and rambling and that they irritate me?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Because I listen to you a lot, and the ones that giggle and don\u2019t let you talk, you cringe. You get irritated.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s not because they\u2019re women, that happens if they\u2019re men, too. It\u2019s just a matter of, you know, politeness. But those are generally liberal leftist filibusterers.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, they\u2019re just silly girls. But, anyway, I\u2019m calling to tell you that I think you\u2019re being a little hard on Obama during his Memorial speech.<\/p>\n

RUSH: For what?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Let me tell you why.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. I\u2019d love to hear why.<\/p>\n

CALLER: He sees dead people!<\/p>\n

RUSH: You think he really does see dead people? You mean when he was giving the speech he actually saw dead soldiers?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Really?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m just making a joke because he\u2019s really a pinhead, in a good way. But on a serious subject, Rush, can I ask you another question?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, by all means. This must be some reference to the fact that he\u2019s from Chicago and dead people vote? Is that the joke. He\u2019s from Chicago, dead people vote so he sees a lot of dead people, why not see dead people in the Memorial Day speech?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I\u2019m just referring to the movie when he said he saw dead people during his speech.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What movie?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know, but there was a famous movie where someone said, ‘I see dead people,\u2019 and so I was just referring to that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, you\u2019re talking about The Sixth Sense with Bruce Willis, the M. Night Shyamalan movie.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, I guess so.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Yeah. I know what it is even if you don\u2019t. I\u2019m host. What was the other topic that you wanted to discuss.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, the other topic is that I have heard you mention numerously that you have to be a good receiver?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And I\u2019d like you to receive something from me.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughter)<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m not kidding.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughter) Yeah, we\u2019re going, ‘Uh-oh.\u2019 What would it be, Julie?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have sculpted a clay art sculpture for you, and I\u2019d like to give it to you, and I don\u2019t expect you to get it directly but I\u2019d like to find out who I can send it to so you can receive it and appreciate it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s very sweet. What is it a clay sculpture of? (Stand by on the dump button.) What is the clay sculpture of?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it\u2019s hard to explain. I call them cellar dwellers, but there\u2019s no two alike, and I made an extremely special beautiful sculpture just for you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Cellar dwellers.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Trying to figure out how this relates to me.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You will not be able to explain it unless you see it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s not vulgar. It\u2019s not evil. It\u2019s not. It\u2019s just —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Just sweet, just really nice?<\/p>\n

CALLER: And it\u2019s repaying you for all that you have done for me.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that is really nice. That really is.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, Rush, after that last rambling female, I hope I have time to make my point. I called a while ago. I don\u2019t know if you remember me, but I called awhile back and ran out of time. But this time I\u2019m so upset with McCain, I don\u2019t know whether it\u2019s better to vote once for McCain or I could possibly vote twice because if I vote for Barack Obama… I\u2019m a staunch Republican. I\u2019ve never voted anything but Republican, and I figure if I vote for Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton, either one, that\u2019s one vote from the Republicans and one vote to the Democrats, because I\u2019m so disgusted, I\u2019d rather vote for the wolf instead of the wolf in the sheep\u2019s clothing. <\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think if the Republicans, the wimpy Republicans, would stand up and fight —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Did I hear you right? You\u2019re going to vote twice?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, yes, because —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re in Chicago?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: If I vote for Barack Obama, and I\u2019m a Republican — I am a die-hard conservative Republican — then I am taking one vote from the Republicans, and I\u2019m giving one vote to the Democrats, which essentially is two votes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I see what you mean.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My whole entire family may vote twice this entire election.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I must ask you here, Tina: What\u2019s wrong with McCain? What did McCain do now to make you mad?<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know what? He\u2019s a wolf in sleep\u2019s clothing. He\u2019s going to allow the Republicans — he\u2019s not — he\u2019s just going to have the Republicans sit there with their jaws dropped and watch what he\u2019s doing to turn this country into a socialist little global warming whatever that he wants to do, and nobody\u2019s going to stand up and fight. And if we have Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton, maybe these wimpy little Republicans that keep sending these little things in the mail to send them money — which I used to send a lot of money. Now I\u2019m sending absolutely nothing with a stamp, so it costs them a stamp.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know that Tina was rambling here, but she\u2019s got a really, really good point, and it is something to consider, and I\u2019ve mentioned this once before. Let\u2019s say it\u2019s McCain-Obama, but forget McCain-Obama right now. Let\u2019s say the worst-case scenario is true. Let\u2019s say the Democrats have a 70-seat majority in the House and an eight-to-12; worst-case scenario, 12-seat majority in the Senate. Even drop it back to 50-seat majority in the House, seven-seat majority in the Senate. Does it really matter who the president is? Like McCain has said he is going to veto every piece of legislation that has earmarks in it. Okay. He vetoes it and they override it. He can appoint the absolute most fabulous judges in the world. They\u2019re not going to stand a chance. He could propose tax cuts down the line, making the Bush tax cuts permanent. Democrats can stop him. So the point that she\u2019s raising here is for the conservative movement now — and we\u2019re conservatives first and we believe that conservatism is the best way, and maybe the only way to defend and preserve the traditions and institutions that have defined this country\u2019s greatness. So what\u2019s actually better: a huge Democrat congressional and Senate majority with a McCain presidency, or an Obama presidency? In the case of a McCain presidency where McCain is going to have to cross the aisle and get things done with Democrats because they are the majority, we could have a circumstance where the Republicans in the House and the Senate cannot oppose McCain because he\u2019s the standard-bearer of the party, and when you\u2019re a Republican, elected official, you just don\u2019t go against your president. Some of this happened during the Bush years, and in the last seven years of the Bush administration. It is something to consider. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: We go to Charlotte, North Carolina. This is Renee. Renee, thank you for waiting, and welcome to the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. This is Renee. I\u2019m in Charlotte, North Carolina, and I\u2019m a first-time caller, and I\u2019m also a Democrat. I am a loyal Barack Obama fan, and I also am a disabled vet. And I just wanted to tell you that, you know, when I first started listening to your show, and I heard you — this Operation Chaos stuff going on, I used to get upset with you. But as time went on, I sat back and I started listening to John McCain and I start laughing with you all, I said we, in the Democratic Party, we really aren\u2019t going to have to do too much at all with candidates like John McCain because he keeps flip-flopping his position like a fish out of water. And all we have to do is just sit back and let Barack take the nomination. And I just got tickled at that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So, if I understand you right, Renee, you\u2019re big Democrat, you support Obama, but you\u2019re saying no matter how much success I\u2019ve had with Operation Chaos, I\u2019m still stuck with McCain at the end of the day?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, my gosh.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s what you\u2019re saying?<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you actually may have a point there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I started laughing instead of getting mad and I sat back and said let me just listen to you —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me tell you something, Renee, I want to warn you here, you don\u2019t want to get too overconfident about your guy\u2019s chance to win here, and I\u2019ll tell you why.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Why is that? <\/p>\n

RUSH: Because after Obama defeats Hillary for the Democrat nomination, he still has one opponent to go to secure that nomination, and that\u2019s McCain, because the presidential race, John McCain versus Barack Obama, is going to be a race for Democrat voters.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: McCain\u2019s going to go out there and try to get as many Democrats as he can, and he\u2019s going to do it with this global warming issue. He\u2019s going to try to out-liberal Obama on global warming and a couple other things. He\u2019s going to try to say to Democrats he\u2019s far more experienced than Obama, which is true, so the Democrat vote is not uniformly going to go to the Democrat candidate because the Republicans have a guy who wants a lot of it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know, as I begin to listen to John McCain and just listen to him talk, and I know he\u2019s a war hero, and he\u2019s, you know, all of this, but I\u2019m thinking that the John McCain that we see today was not the John McCain of yesterday. He\u2019s almost, you know, sometimes I wonder if he\u2019s got some kind of dementia setting in, because he\u2019ll say something and then he\u2019ll say, I never said that and he —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, now, now. Renee, there\u2019s no need to do this. I understand you\u2019re tempted to do it because your guy is such an intellectual empty suit.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) <\/p>\n

RUSH: So you\u2019ve gotta fight back. It\u2019s sort of like the Reverend Jeremiah Wright comes up and so you guys on Obama\u2019s side have to go out and find some preacher who McCain\u2019s never been in his church, says some things that are misunderstood, then amplified way out of context, and the whole point is McCain\u2019s gotta distance himself from these preachers to whom these churches he\u2019s never been in, and so what they\u2019re trying to do is nullify the negative impact on Obama of Reverend Wright. It\u2019s a nice try, but it isn\u2019t going to work. I\u2019m telling you, Obama\u2019s biggest challenge in this campaign is going to be getting Democrat votes because that\u2019s who Senator McCain is targeting as well. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: A lot of women today. How do you explain that Snerdley? Carolyn in Warren, Michigan. Welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi. I\u2019m pretty nervous. I\u2019d like to articulate my point well. I think there\u2019s a situation that can happen that everybody can win. Now, you talked a couple weeks ago and you waxed very eloquently about the way that Hillary should take this, the way the Democrats are treating her. She\u2019s worked her whole life towards this, and the party\u2019s disenfranchising a lot of the women. Also with this not counting the votes in Florida and Michigan —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — on the other hand, let\u2019s face it, Hillary\u2019s a liberal, and that author you were talking about, even last week was saying maybe a good strategy for him would be to pick a Democrat. What better Democrat than Hillary Clinton? Just move a little bit more to the left, she move a little bit more to the right. They could market this, she could —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I just want to make sure I understand this, Carolyn. Are you suggesting that McCain, in order pick up disaffected feminist votes, women angry because Mrs. Clinton has once again been kicked aside for the young dweeb, that McCain choose Mrs. Clinton -as his vice presidential running mate?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Sure. And on the other hand, Hillary can say, ‘I\u2019ve seen the light, after being Democrat all these years–‘<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t know. I\u2019d have to run that by David Brooks and Bill Kristol and get their approval on this. They might find it attractive.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Talk about change, forget Obama. This is real change. Imagine them up on the stage there with Bill and Hillary and McCain, all holding hands up in the air, even get old Bill — get old —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, the only thing, McCain would have to have a locked-down contract with these people, you know, and Hillary would have to promise to stop talking about assassination, a couple other things, too. I don\u2019t know what good\u2019s a Clinton contract, but you still gotta go for it. I don\u2019t know. Put that in the hopper, Carolyn, Hillary Clinton as McCain\u2019s vice presidential nominee. Some will find it appealing. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Lucille in Tarzana, California, hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi. I\u2019m so discouraged about everything, all the bad things that are going on and being said about the Democrats, and then McCain, we need some positive things to hear about McCain. He\u2019s all we have, and I don\u2019t know how to try to sell him without you giving me some ideas of some good, positive things about him. He certainly is not my idea of an ideal candidate, but, as I said, he\u2019s all we have.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you want some help, some assistance in positive aspects of Senator McCain in order to, quote, unquote, sell him to people that you know who may be doubting him?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know. It\u2019s not easy.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, no, that\u2019s not —<\/p>\n

CALLER: But he\u2019s all we have.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, I know. Well, let\u2019s see. Uhhhh&hellip;<\/p>\n

CALLER: Sorry to make it so difficult.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You could say that McCain is for the war. I mean, he wants to win the war, he\u2019s a big — he\u2019s a big —<\/p>\n

CALLER: True.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know he\u2019s strong on national defense and national security.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank goodness for that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Except for global warming.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let\u2019s see. You know, the story of what happened to him in that prison cell is — I don\u2019t know if you know the details of this. Jeffrey Lord at the AmericanSpectator.com today has written a great piece. We should link to that at the American Spectator today, because it goes into great detail about the true brutality and evil that the North Vietnamese were in the way they dealt and the way they treated McCain for the five years that he was prisoner of war. He also says that he\u2019s for lower taxes and reining in government spending. But the problem is that he opposed the tax cuts that he\u2019s now — so we don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. Yes. Yes, I do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But, there\u2019s always character and leadership.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s good.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s good to use.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He\u2019s got a pretty wife.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s true, too.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And she\u2019s an Anheuser-Busch distributor, and that ain\u2019t bad.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing) <\/p>\n

RUSH: He loves America.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Sounds good.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And you can\u2019t say that about some of Obama\u2019s people.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, my goodness, no, you cannot.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You really can\u2019t say that about some of Obama\u2019s people.<\/p>\n

CALLER: True.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn.<\/p>\n

CALLER: His wife.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let\u2019s see, what else? Well, that\u2019s a good start.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, it is.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We\u2019ll work on it. You put those in the hopper. What kind of people are you having trouble convincing out there, Lucille?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you know, it\u2019s a Democrat state, and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, you know where Needles is, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Needles is going to secede. I\u2019m not kidding. I\u2019ve got the story, Needles, California is fed up, they want to move to either Arizona or Nevada. They\u2019re fed up. Arizona and Nevada are growing. Needles is fading away. They closed the hospital, the state closed the hospital there, or reduced its capacity or something. The mayor, everybody in Needles is fed up. They want to secede from the state of California.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Not a bad idea.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I mean, your governor out there — I also have a story in the Stack here, the highest paid employees in the state are government employees, and they want to hire more. It\u2019s so unfortunate what\u2019s happened to California \u2019cause I love it so much. I really do. Anyway, Lucille, I have to take a quick break, okay?<\/p>\n
