RUSH: We\u2019ll go to Sandy, Utah. This is Terry. It\u2019s great to have you here, sir. Welcome to the EIB Network.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mr. Limbaugh, the great one.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: A very difficult call for me to make, but one that I felt was absolutely necessary. I am the Terry from Sandy, Utah, that at the beginning of Operation Chaos called you up and chastised you and said some very, very bad things about you over the phone. I, sir, would like to apologize for one major reason. All of us people that doubted you were wrong, the Democratic Party is in absolute chaos. They\u2019re in total disarray, and the bitterness I think is going to carry through, and we, as Republicans I believe at this point have a chance to win, and the —<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, maybe.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Maybe. I agree with the ‘maybe,\u2019 but I must put this one thing in there. It\u2019s the most important part.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I mean, do we win, if we win? That\u2019s my point.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, what I wanted to say is you, single-handedly, have brought us there, and I really do believe that. I see this chaos in their party, and I don\u2019t think it would have happened had you not had Operation Chaos.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, it takes a big man to do what you\u2019ve just done. There were many people like you who called and, in various ways, chastised me for this. I think their fear was that this was going to revive Mrs. Clinton\u2019s campaign to the point that she would get the nomination, and —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — that that would be disastrous because she could win, and, ‘Oh, no! Limbaugh would be responsible.\u2019 I never doubted that even if she got the nomination, she could be beat.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you are certainly right, and there was a bit of fear there, because I didn\u2019t want to have to move my family all the way to Canada. It just wouldn\u2019t work out. I like it here in the United States too well.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019m happy that you\u2019ve seen the light on this, and that you\u2019re out of Purgatory. I can imagine the guilt that you have been living with since your realization here that you were wrong when chastising me, but I graciously accept. It\u2019s very nice of you to call and say.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, sir. Having listened to you since 1988, all the time, I appreciate that, and my humble apologies.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir, very much. I appreciate it. That\u2019s Terry in Sandy, Utah. Of course the obvious reaction — after, of course, graciously acknowledging the apology and the assorted and similar comments — is he then said he\u2019d been listening since 1988. Why doubt me? We\u2019re coming up on 20 years here on August 1st. I think, ladies and gentlemen, I have proved myself. Maybe not beyond a doubt in all cases, but certainly I should be given the benefit of it at this point. I think it\u2019s instructive that those of us on the conservative side, because of betrayals in the past (and recent betrayals), many conservatives are simply waiting for those that they respect and follow and so forth to screw up, to betray them, to fall off and fade away, creating havoc in the process. This is something that I have yet to do, and I won\u2019t do because I\u2019m not out for anything that would enable me or force me to have to cave and compromise on things.<\/p>\n

Now, since we\u2019re talking about all of this, one of the interesting things that took place over the weekend — it was happening even before Mrs. Clinton\u2019s assassination comment on Friday afternoon — Bill Clinton, who now for the first time clearly sees that his day in the sun as somebody that matters in the Democrat Party is seriously threatened, so he was out there working hard doing everything he could to persuade, to convince, to intimidate the Obama people to put Hillary on the ticket as his veep. I never could see this happening. People were saying that, ‘Rush, it may not be Barack\u2019s choice. The powers that be in the Democrat Party, in order for unity, may just force him to take her,\u2019 and I can see them putting a foot down and saying no. Can you imagine the scene at the Democrat National Convention on Thursday night where everybody, Obama is making an acceptance speech — and Clinton, Hillary gets to deliver her acceptance speech before Obama does — and then after everybody comes out and the balloons are falling, there is Obama and Michelle (My Belle) and Hillary and Bill; all four raised hands, locked in unity? There\u2019s no way Obama\u2019s team is going to allow Bill Clinton on that stage at the Democrat National Convention on his night, and there\u2019s no way that he\u2019s going to have Bill and Hillary Clinton lurking around his administration. <\/p>\n

Whoever is behind Obama — and I believe something, somebody — you know, the academic left, somebody — is sponsoring the Obama candidacy. Somebody has designed it; somebody has set it up. He\u2019s the vessel for other people. They\u2019ve got somebody here who\u2019s unassailable because he\u2019s the first black presidential candidate so we can\u2019t talk about all these things. We can\u2019t talk about his race, can\u2019t talk about his grandmother, his mother, his father; can\u2019t talk about his middle name, his name period; can\u2019t talk about where he went to school, can\u2019t talk about his wife, can\u2019t talk about his liberalism, can\u2019t talk about anything. That\u2019s why they\u2019ve nominated this guy or gotten behind this guy, so he\u2019s insulated from the normal political criticisms, and he\u2019s just the vessel. This guy doesn\u2019t know diddly-squat. When he gets to the White House, if he does, somebody\u2019s going to be in there running this show. He\u2019s gonna get rolled by all these experienced Democrats in the Congress. Don\u2019t think that those guys are in there for unity either.
