CALLER: Hi, Rush. How you doing?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just saw something on television the other day about Obama\u2019s speech telling us we\u2019re eating too much?<\/p>\n

RUSH: He said —<\/p>\n

CALLER: We\u2019re always told we drive too much. Now we eat <\/emphasize>too much?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I don\u2019t have the quote. We have the actual sound bite from yesterday. It\u2019s absurd. It\u2019s outrageous! Look, it\u2019s right out of a college planner textbook. He starts out by saying (paraphrased), ‘Look, we\u2019re 3% of the world\u2019s population; we use 25% of the world\u2019s energy. The days where we can just drive where we want to drive and eat more than we have to, eat all we want; and keep our thermostats at 72 degrees; those days are over. The rest of the world doesn\u2019t look at us favorably like that,\u2019 and doing that is not leadership. This is Jimmy Carter 2!<\/p>\n

CALLER: I can\u2019t believe it. Even prisoners get a second helping if they want one. It\u2019s unreal.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m telling you, he just told the American people: You are going to have to start doing with less, and I\u2019m going to be the one that sees to it that you do. Now, the last time the Democrats had a candidate like that, his name was Jimmy Carter. We were in such misery, we had a ‘Misery Index\u2019 to tell us, and Jimmy Carter, he —<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m old enough to remember him.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. Well, see, his party lost in a 49-state landslide. I\u2019m telling you, he\u2019s an empty suit, Josephine. All this talk about how ‘brilliant\u2019 Obama is? He\u2019s an empty suit! Those speeches of his on his teleprompter are written, his policy ideas are straight out of every Northeastern, Ivy League, liberal classroom and every liberal professor who\u2019s tried to inculcate a young mind.
