RUSH: Hi Linda, how are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m just wonderful. Thank you so much —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re welcome.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — for educating me in the ways of politics.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And thank you so much for taking my call.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re welcome.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I had a very simple little question I\u2019ve thought of for probably ten years, maybe not that long. I wanted to ask you, and then I told Mr. Snerdley I had one simple question, I decided maybe I should make it as a statement, therefore being a perfectly honest, wonderful human being you are, you would not be forced to have to answer. So I\u2019ve concluded over listening to a few statements that you\u2019ve made over the years that you must practice TM. And you don\u2019t have to answer me if you don\u2019t want to, because you are such a wonderful, gracious gentleman, one of the things —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, now, wait a second, but you are curious. I understand the structure that you have created here, making your statement in observation form, thereby not requiring me to provide an answer, but you still are curious.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m still what?<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re not curious?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I am curious.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You are curious, yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But I didn\u2019t want to put you on the spot because —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you\u2019re not putting me on the spot.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it\u2019s a question that may ostracize you a little bit because it\u2019s looked upon as kind of, you know, something strange to practice, Transcendental Meditation.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Cosmic consciousness? There\u2019s nothing strange about —<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s not, maybe not more so where you\u2019re from than where I\u2019m from. It is not as strange as —<\/p>\n

RUSH: How many times a day do you meditate?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Twice a day for thirty years.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Are you on the road to cosmic consciousness?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I would like to think so, yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because that\u2019s the objective of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir, and I think you\u2019re very much there, too, because you keep bumping into me in my lucid dreams.<\/p>\n

RUSH: A-ha. That helps a lot. So when you are meditating, which is another way to lucid dream —<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, no, lucid dream is when you\u2019re asleep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, you\u2019re talking about when you\u2019re sleeping.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, meditating.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Linda? Linda, I\u2019ve heard that line before. I mean, when I was younger, I used to use that line all the time. You know I had a dream about you? <\/p>\n

CALLER: No, it\u2019s not that kind of dream. A lucid dream is when you observe your dreams.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but I mean I\u2019m still in \u2019em.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. It\u2019s not a pickup line. I\u2019m not trying to pick you up.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I didn\u2019t think you were.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Although, you did make a comment once a couple years ago, my husband and I heard you talking about being at a party and that you wished you could meet some real people. We volunteer. We\u2019re real people. We would love to meet you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, that\u2019s awfully sweet. You\u2019ve got a great memory. I do not practice Transcendental Meditation. I know people who have, and that\u2019s why I know the terminology.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good. Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And I know about the mantras.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Uh-huh.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I have talked about Maharishi University, which is in Iowa.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And I did say, you know, you got a basketball team there, and I said the official cheer is ‘block that vibe,\u2019 rather than —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir. Well, I thought you must have some familiarity with it, or maybe being in such a high state of consciousness as you are in, maybe that was one of the tools you used.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wish it were. I wish I could tell you it was, but it\u2019s not. Even though I\u2019m familiar with it, as I say, I\u2019ve known some people who have done it, but they don\u2019t do it any longer. Anyway, Linda, you\u2019re so sweet.
