RUSH: And welcome back, folks. Great to be back after a four-day, long weekend. It begins one of my all-time favorite times of the year, but I have to tell you, I don\u2019t know; maybe I\u2019m getting older, I don\u2019t know what it is, but it never used to irritate me. Now it\u2019s starting to irritate me. You know what irritates me is that nothing\u2019s normal.<\/p>\n

For four days, nothing has been normal. No normal deliveries. For people like me who don\u2019t take vacations and don\u2019t take time off, when everybody else is, it\u2019s really frustrating. That\u2019s all I\u2019m saying. But I\u2019m not gonna bleed on you today, folks, because I\u2019m not in a bad mood. Well, I\u2019m not in a real bad mood. I\u2019m glad to be back. This is back to normal. Everything\u2019s now back to normal, including we had a full weekend of media suppression, news suppression, all kinds of things happening out there that you need to know about but you may not know because it has not been widely reported.<\/p>\n

\"\"In addition, everything that we predicted that would happen at the border when the caravan got here indeed happened. All this time we have been led to believe, we\u2019ve been told, we\u2019ve been lied to, and we\u2019ve all known it, that these are just the greatest salt-of-the-earth people in this hemisphere. They\u2019re just fleeing poverty, and they\u2019re fleeing thirst, and they\u2019re fleeing hunger, and they\u2019re fleeing war, and they just want a better life, it\u2019s so unfortunate. Why can\u2019t you let them in?<\/p>\n

And what happened when they got to the border? They were told very politely, \u201cOh, you want asylum? You\u2019re gonna have to wait until we file your claims.\u201d Well, they weren\u2019t gonna have anything to do with waiting and they stormed the border, which is what they were gonna do from the get-go. There never was any waiting for asylum. There never was any getting in line. There never was any “Let\u2019s do what it takes to become a citizen.” This was all about storming the border.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a criminal element throughout these caravans, and it remains a left-wing movement designed to destabilize the United States, to put pressure on the Trump administration to aid the American Democrat Party. It is exactly what we said it was. It\u2019s exactly what we\u2019ve all known that it was gonna be. And, thankfully, for at least the time being they\u2019ve been repelled.<\/p>\n

But now you note how history repeats. When the first controversy over asylum seekers arose, what was it that the Drive-By Media told us? Why, they told us that Trump was separating mothers from their children, the Trump administration and Trump personally was ordering families to be separated. And you know how many people believed. It was totally bogus. I\u2019ll tell you, I\u2019m losing my patience with this. I have to tell you. I got people sitting on the dump button here. I\u2019ve expanded the delay, \u2019cause I can\u2019t tell you how close I am to profanity in my anger over all this.<\/p>\n

It just keeps repeating. We were told that Trump is separating families, mothers from their babies, and stupid, idiot Americans believe it! Like 42% of the American people literally think that the Russians tampered with ballots in the 2016 election, after two years of hearing nonstop media lies about collusion. Well, now, guess what happened? The Border Patrol tear gassed young mothers and their children. And there\u2019s a photo that ran in the upper half of the front page of practically every newspaper in America today of a mother and her two kids running for their lives, trying to escape the mean and evil United States Border Patrol and its tear gas.<\/p>\n

And it\u2019s all made up! Tear gas was used to repel a bunch of people illegally storming the border who were warned that that kind of thing was gonna happen. But, no. The Drive-By Media\u2019s reporting it just like they did back in the first set of lies that families were being separated.<\/p>\n

\"\"You know, I don\u2019t know how many times that I and a whole lot of people have explained what this family separation was, how it is the law, how it\u2019s been the law created by the ACLU and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, how it happened during the Obama administration and how there was not a single tear, not a single tear, no crying or wailing when it happened during the Obama administration.<\/p>\n

Let me explain to you exactly what\u2019s going on with all this. And to sit here and have to go through it again with now the tear gassing of young mothers and their children, we\u2019ve got history repeating itself, and it\u2019s designed to misinform the American public and cement the idea that Republicans, not just Trump, folks, that the Republicans are these mean-spirited, racist bigots who don\u2019t want anybody in America who doesn\u2019t look like them.<\/p>\n

It is God-awful shameful, what is being done.<\/p>\n

I want to grab sound bite number 5. This is a montage we put together. The Drive-By Media pushing an amnesty agenda, a pro-illegal immigrant agenda. And this is the Drive-Bys, little montage of the Drive-By Media reporting on the tear gas and young mothers and their children as they desperately seek a better life from their war-torn native countries. Listen to this.<\/p>\n

SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: Trouble at the border.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Stop the tape! They are not seeking asylum, and they have proved it! Recue that. I\u2019m sorry. When I hear these people lie and misrepresent things, it\u2019s getting tougher and tougher to sit here and let it go by. They are not seeking asylum. This is a media creation. If they were seeking asylum, they would wait when they got here and were told what the rules are. \u201cYou want asylum? Fine. You\u2019re gonna have to wait until your application is processed. That means you\u2019re gonna be detained over here and your children are gonna be detained over there.\u201d<\/p>\n

When they are told that, what do they do? Do they go get in line and wait and follow through on their desire for asylum? No. They start throwing rocks and they storm the border! These people are not here to seek asylum. I mean, if they could, they would, because after you get it, then you disappear into the interior of the country and you never go back for your hearing before an administrative judge. But that\u2019s not what this is about and we predicted this from the moment we first heard about these caravans moving toward the southern border. Anyway, here\u2019s the bite, the montage in toto.<\/p>\n

SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: Trouble at the border. U.S. agents fire tear gas at hundreds of migrants trying to rush into this country illegally.<\/p>\n

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Border Patrol used tear gas to try and stop them. And this photo, shared around the world, shows a family running from the fumes.<\/p>\n

WILLIE GEIST: Photos of children running from tear gas featured on the front pages of newspapers across the country.<\/p>\n

NORAH O\u2019DONNELL: Tear gas being fired at some of these migrants trying to cross the border, including women and children, seen choking from the tear gas. Should border agents be able to use tear gas in self-defense?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. They should just stand there and allow themselves to be overrun. And anybody who wants to come in, if they want to throw rocks, let \u2019em throw rocks. If they\u2019ve got a criminal element that\u2019s armed, let me them fire on Border Patrol. Border Patrol is to sit there and wave as these people rush past them.<\/p>\n

\"\"Well, if that\u2019s not the case, then what\u2019s Border Patrol supposed to do? Supposed to stop them. It\u2019s illegal to get into the country this way. Is the Border Patrol supposed to just stand aside and let them in because the Democrat Party needs new voters, the Democrat Party wants to try to cause problems for the Republican Party? Is that what the Border Patrol is supposed to do?<\/p>\n

‘Cause I gotta tell you something, folks. This was happening five years ago when the Obama administration was in power, and you know what happened? Border Patrol tear gassed women and children and others trying to get across the border at exactly the same spot. Do you remember hearing about that news? No, you don\u2019t, because it wasn\u2019t reported in very many places. I have it here in my Stack. I went back to the archives and got it.<\/p>\n

Obama administration Border Patrol used tear gas and pepper spray near the very same spot almost exactly five years ago. It was a group of 100 illegal aliens trying to storm the border. They were throwing rocks. They were throwing bottles. That incident never made the network news. Because there was no way they were ever gonna portray Obama as being behind.<\/p>\n

In fact, if they had reported it, it would have been the rogue Border Patrol, and Obama wouldn\u2019t have known anything about it until he saw it on the news, just like he didn\u2019t know anything about Hillary Clinton\u2019s illegal email server that he had been using until he saw it on the news.<\/p>\n

Now the president is threatening a permanent shutdown of the border. Bring it on! Hell, yes! The president\u2019s also threatening a partial government shutdown until Congress acts on this and allocates some money for the border wall. And on cue, here come a bunch of Republicans, “I don\u2019t think we should shut down the government. It\u2019s a very dangerous thing to shut down the government.” And some Republicans are saying, “You know what? I can\u2019t handle this.” Ben Sasse of Nebraska\u2019s just totally gone. He\u2019s just become a full-fledged Never Trumper. Joni Ernst from Iowa, “I don\u2019t think we should shut down, even a partial shutdown.”<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: We had a call I was gonna take first. We either had a disconnection or the caller got panicked and hung up. He was gonna ask me, “Is Trump going to have to fight tooth and nail for everything? Is it ever gonna end?” I\u2019ll tell you, in answering that, let me go to another call. We\u2019ve got Larry here in Deer Park, New York. Larry, are you there? You ready to hit the air?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, I am. Mega Christmas dittos, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you. Great to have you here, Larry. You say here that I shouldn\u2019t be disheartened. Larry, I\u2019m not disheartened. If anything, I\u2019m mad or angry. But I\u2019m not disheartened. Do I sound disheartened out there?<\/p>\n

CALLER: It kind of sounded like that to me. I just think that more of us are aware of what\u2019s going on. More of us are aware of the fake news. We woke up this morning and we saw the setup, smoke bombs and it was so obvious that that was a setup with the family running away; and it was all over, you know, social media this morning if you —<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — know where to look, if you stay away from the liberals.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Well, I know you say that, but then 42 — wait a minute, Lar — 42% of the American people think Russia tampered with ballots. You can\u2019t get more fake news than that, and they believe that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, and that\u2019s 30% of the hard-core liberals, and then some —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — Millennials in the middle.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. In the Democrats, the number\u2019s over 50. That\u2019s 42% of the American people. In the Democrat percentage or quintile of the sample it\u2019s like 60% of Democrats think it. Not 30.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It is a shame. It\u2019s incredible that the fake news has so much power still.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me tell you something. You have a point, though. You have a point. You talk about social media, people get up and you see this phony tear gas story and they got the wrong impression of it and see through it. The social media people, Facebook is in deep trouble. Facebook is losing subscribers like mad. It just isn\u2019t being reported. Facebook is in deep doo-doo. And the same thing with Twitter! The news media uses Twitter as a balancing factor in stories. It\u2019s one of the strangest things.<\/p>\n

The news media will do a story on whatever the subject is, and then go to Twitter to find out what people are saying on the opposite side of the story or to support it, as though what happens on Twitter is relevant. So by virtue of the media reporting, “And Twitter users say” and then how many stories do you see where they reprint four or five tweets from people you never heard of? It makes it look like Twitter is a dominant factor.<\/p>\n

More and more people are leaving Twitter because it\u2019s a sewer! When Twitter was new, it was fun; you had people of like-minded things sharing interesting things back and forth. But it\u2019s becoming a political sewer because the left has totally corrupted it. Now conservatives are being banned, disconnected, told to go to hell. And both these outfits are in trouble. They\u2019re in trouble to the point that they may not need to be investigated for monopolistic practices, although it probably should happen.<\/p>\n

\"\"CALLER: Oh, Rush, how are you? This is the highest honor of my life to speak with you. And I\u2019m speaking for my husband as well. Thank you so much, an absolute dream come true for us. Thank you. And Mojo is so nice, your screener. I wanted to say, Rush, I believe and wondering if you think that this whole caravan chaos was possibly timed to arrive in December during the Christmas season so that President Trump and any Republicans behind border control could really now be labeled as cold and heartless and, you know, inhumane and unforgivable. Where the Democrats would be saying, \u201cOh, how could you possibly do this at Christmastime, you can\u2019t turn them away.\u201d Maybe even use the religion angle to lay as much guilt as possible. I just wonder if it was possibly timed and arranged during this time of year to do this.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I wouldn\u2019t discount it. I think the left is constantly strategizing like this. I don\u2019t think anything is coincidental. And I don\u2019t think this caravan is haphazardly, spontaneously existing. I don\u2019t think 5,000 people one day in Honduras decided that it was time to leave, for all of the obvious reasons that we have mentioned. They have to eat. They have to drink. They have to relieve themselves. They cannot walk all of this way, not all of them. The makeup, the criminal element.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also an aspect of this that exists by virtue of people trying to escape the coyotes that charge an arm and a leg. But even if — let\u2019s just play devil\u2019s advocate — even if — and it isn\u2019t — but even if all these caravans are totally legit, the left is still gonna use them as you describe. It will be seen as an opportunity. I think you can expect a continuation.<\/p>\n

That picture I described earlier today of a mom and her two kids escaping tear gas and smoke and all the horrors that the Trump administration personify, that picture has been in probably an 80% of American newspapers today. And it doesn\u2019t to be the result of cooperation. It doesn\u2019t have to be that somebody said, “Okay, we\u2019ve got this picture,\u201d and they call every newspaper in America and say, \u201cRun it on Monday.” They don\u2019t have to do that. They don\u2019t have to.<\/p>\n

All they have to do is have a central clearinghouse that sends it out, properly identifies it with the proper caption of such-and-such mom, two kids escaping the tear gas of the Trump administration, and every liberal editor at every news organization in America is gonna say, “Oh, my God. I hate these Trump people, put \u2019em on the front page.” This kind of stuff continuing during the holiday season? I think you\u2019re exactly right. I think your thinking on this is superb. It\u2019s never gonna stop, this effort to destroy or discredit Donald Trump, this effort to get rid of him is what this is, to ultimately overturn the 2016 election results is never going away.<\/p>\n

Now, I don\u2019t want anybody getting mad at me here. I\u2019ve already had one guy, “Rush, you sound disheartened.\u201d It\u2019s not the case.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
