<\/p>\nRUSH: You know, I\u2019m watching the news here, and I\u2019m so happy I\u2019ve turned over a new leaf, at least for a while here. I just need a break. I am not — well, I\u2019m gonna try studiously to avoid being led by the Drive-By Media in terms of what I choose to discuss here and when.<\/p>\n
For example, what\u2019s going on right now. The media all day has been trying to disrupt our relationship with Saudi Arabia. They claim they\u2019ve got evidence that the crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, actually ordered the death of a so-called Washington Post journalist, Jamal Khashoggi. He wasn\u2019t a Washington Post journalist. He was an occasional op-ed writer.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The guy was a Muslim Brotherhood activist. That doesn\u2019t justify him being shot, but they\u2019re lying to you about who the guy is and they\u2019re trying to pressure Trump, \u201cWhy don\u2019t you abandon Saudi Arabia? Why don\u2019t you sever the relationship? The crown prince is one of your good buddies, is a good friend of Jared Kushner and he maybe killed a guy.\u201d So now Pompeo, Secretary of State, is on TV suggesting it\u2019s too important a relationship, we\u2019re not gonna back out of our Saudi Arabian relationship.<\/p>\n
Why even respond to this stuff? Who\u2019s the media? What the hell do they matter in this? The media is trying to say, \u201cWell, there\u2019s a tape, there\u2019s a tape of the last moments of Khashoggi\u2019s life, and Trump won\u2019t even listen to it because Trump doesn\u2019t want to know the truth.\u201d It\u2019s just a never-ending assault. Normally, I would sit here and I would get roiled up into this, but it is what it is, and I don\u2019t know. It\u2019s tiresome just to constantly watch the media every day do everything they can to try to influence Trump into taking action that will be detrimental to himself.<\/p>\n
Along those lines, Carl Bernstein of CNN thinks that the media should start editing Trump press conferences, not air them live, and edit them because somebody has to make sure that Trump doesn\u2019t propagandize the American people and use the media to do it! Carl Bernstein! The media should edit Trump\u2019s press conferences.<\/p>\n
