CALLER: Hi, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m fine, thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019d like to say thank you, Rush, for everything that you\u2019re doing for our party. It makes me proud. You know lately, you start feeling like being a Republican is a bad thing, it\u2019s a bad word, and you can\u2019t tell people that you\u2019re a Republican, they look at you bad, ‘Oh, my God, are you crazy?\u2019 but we listen to you, we turn the station on, and we\u2019re just proud to be Americans. We\u2019re just proud to keep going.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you\u2019re very nice to say that, and I really appreciate it because we do focus on the positive on this program. We try to be optimistic, of good cheer, enjoy life, and have fun. After all, we\u2019re Americans.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. You know, it\u2019s like you can\u2019t say how you feel, especially in Miami, it\u2019s like I don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on. I\u2019m a Cuban American. Even with my own people, everybody is changing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me ask you a question. Why are people who used to be Republicans, let\u2019s say even, you know, friendly Democrats, why do they get so visceral now when you tell them you\u2019re Republican? What do they not like about Republicans?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have no idea.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, there\u2019s got to be something. Is it Bush?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think they hate that we\u2019re right; they hate it. I mean they\u2019re all fictional. They don\u2019t say any facts.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second. I don\u2019t think they think we\u2019re right. They\u2019ve got too much hubris in areas. If you\u2019re actually using the term Republican, and they\u2019re getting mad at Republican, I have my own theories. But what about when you tell them you\u2019re conservative, how is their reaction to that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, no, they don\u2019t have much reaction to that. They just think that I\u2019m prejudiced and — <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, don\u2019t take this stuff personally. These people think they\u2019re the smartest people in the room, and they\u2019re just nothing but a bunch of people reacting to cliches. They don\u2019t know anything. You just need to learn to laugh at them. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, you don\u2019t want to get mad at them. It\u2019s not worth it. Just laugh at them, and they\u2019ll say, ‘Why are you laughing?\u2019 You say, ‘Because I\u2019m amazed at your ignorance. You actually believe Republicans are all these things that you believe.\u2019 And then point out all the race wars going on in the Democrat Party. Point out Mrs. Clinton and Obama getting into arguments about race. You tell \u2019em to look at themselves first before they start making these kinds of charges, and then just keep laughing at them. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
