RUSH: Okay. Are you ready for this story out of a college in Michigan, Eastern Michigan University? Eastern Michigan University has canceled all productions… (interruption) You\u2019re nodding. (interruption) Have you heard of this in there? (interruption) Oh, you haven\u2019t. Wait \u2019til you hear this. Eastern Michigan University is canceling all production and performance of the Vagina Monologues. Why do you think Eastern Michigan University in eastern Michigan is canceling all production and performances of the Vagina Monologues?<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re thinking it\u2019s morality based, you would be so dead wrong that it would be embarrassing. If you\u2019re thinking it\u2019s because it\u2019s old and everybody\u2019s seen it and it\u2019s not news, you would be dead wrong. No. The reason why Eastern Michigan University has canceled the Vagina Monologues — all production and performances — is because not all women have vaginas anymore. Do not doubt me. I\u2019m not making this up.<\/p>\n

\"\"BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, folks, we\u2019re gonna get to all of it today. We\u2019re gonna get to the caravan. We\u2019re gonna get to Ivanka and her emails<\/a> and the caravan and the judge\u2019s order and all of this. It\u2019s just that, frankly, I\u2019m getting fed up with following the daily narrative of the media, reacting to everything the media does and breathlessly reacting to it or discussing it, because, frankly, there\u2019s much more going on out there than just what the media is reporting, and I alluded to this a bit yesterday.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve got this 24-hour news cycle that has developed now a soap opera formula for the presentation of what everybody calls news every day. But it isn\u2019t. I mean, how long would it really take to tell everybody what happened in any given time frame? What happened the last 24 hours? How long would it take to just report that? You could probably do it in under a half hour. When we were all growing up, the nightly newscasts were a half hour, meaning 18 minutes. I\u2019m not trying to say that they reported everything.<\/p>\n

They, of course, didn\u2019t. What they left out was as important as what they decided to cover. But the point is most of what you see under the banner of news isn\u2019t news. It\u2019s a formulaic discussion, analysis, manipulation, mind control kind of thing. “Mind control,” let me take that back. That\u2019s what happens. I don\u2019t think it\u2019s one of the purposes. It\u2019s just the manipulation of the viewer to keep in tune… Nothing ever gets solved. Instead, after each segment, “That\u2019s good TV.” “That didn\u2019t work on TV. Let\u2019s not get that person back. Maybe we don\u2019t need to do that segment.”<\/p>\n

\"\"The basis is not, “What we can teach people, how can we inform people, how can people end up learning things today?” It\u2019s a whole different criteria. I just I don\u2019t want to be a prisoner to it any longer because there\u2019s all kinds of stuff out there, like this story from Eastern Michigan University. I know you might think I\u2019m making this up, but I am not. “Leaders at [Eastern Michigan University] decided to cancel its production of The Vagina Monologues because it\u2019s discriminatory,” because now “‘not all women have vaginas.\u2019<\/p>\n

“The women\u2019s resource center at Eastern Michigan University put the kibosh on the [Vagina Monologues] since it caters only to women who have the physical anatomy that accompanies the female sex, according to The Ann Arbor News<\/a>. The decision came after the resource center conducted a survey, asking respondents about The Vagina Monologues. Those opposed to the drama said they were concerned about the fact that the production excludes some women, namely those who don\u2019t have vaginas.”<\/p>\n

What in the name of Sam Hill is happening to this culture? Do not these women without vaginas…? Don\u2019t they secretly want one? Isn\u2019t that the point? So why is the Vagina Monologues discriminatory because not all women have vaginas, because even those who don\u2019t, want one or pretend that they have one or think that one\u2019s in there somewhere if it could just be found by a doctor. (interruption) Yeah, that\u2019s true! Even some of them there have gotten rid of one, with the addadictomy procedure that was popularized out in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

I mean… (laughing) I can\u2019t think of an analogy here. This is so stupid!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
