RUSH: Mrs. Clinton has spoken, ladies and gentlemen. Before we play her sound bite for you… She\u2019s in West Virginia this afternoon. Have you noticed…? You have to understand what you\u2019re watching when you watch this. This is why I am a highly trained broadcast specialist. I\u2019m watching the Drive-By Media today, and I\u2019m reading the closed-captioning as we go. All of these media types are demanding that Hillary drop out of the race now, not for their concern but for their concern for the Democratic Party; and the Drive-Bys are saying get out of the race to save the party. ‘Now, what\u2019s the party got to do with the media?\u2019 I ask rhetorically, of course. It\u2019s remarkable to watch if you understand what you are watching. The media are demanding that Hillary drop out to protect the Democrat Party and ensure Obama\u2019s nomination, and Mrs. Clinton is having none of it.<\/p>\n

HILLARY: This is really about fundamental fairness in recognizing the legitimate votes of two important states — <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes. <\/p>\n

HILLARY: — that Democrats have to try to win in November.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yesssss.<\/p>\n

HILLARY: I think that there are a number of ways to resolve this, but it does need to be resolved, and it needs to be resolved in an equitable way that people will accept. You\u2019ve got to figure out how to seat the delegates from Florida and Michigan that is a reflection of the votes that they cast; because those were legitimate elections, and they do need to have those votes counted.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Absolutely! She is right. I am convinced the Clinton campaign is listening to this program before she goes out to speak. She is exactly right. Howard George Wallace Dean and the Democrat Party, John Kerry and all the rest of these; want to deny these two states\u2019 delegates their right to sit at the convention by not counting the votes in those two states — black votes, Hispanic votes particularly. There are large minority votes in both states. This is the largest disenfranchisement of voters since the 1965 Voting Rights Act, and it is in the Democrat Party — and they don\u2019t want to count those votes because those votes might take the nomination away from Obama. Obama cannot get the nomination unless they don\u2019t count the votes! That\u2019s why we don\u2019t call \u2019em the Democrat-ic Party here because there\u2019s nothing democrat-ic about them. They are the Democrat Party. Here is David in Huntsville, Alabama, nice to have you on the program, sir. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hey.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Mega Yankee transplant dittos from Huntsville, Alabama.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you, sir, very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I made an observation, and I — you may have commented on this, but I have not — while I was tuning in. I think a major reason why the media and Dems are downplaying the effects of Operation Chaos is because on down the road when they\u2019re running their nominee, whoever it turns out to be, and they come up short in the general, they\u2019re going to want to point to the high Democrat registration and say that it must be some type of fraud or wrongdoing on the Republican side for it to come out the way it did. There will be a long, drawn-out legal process like with Algore — especially if it\u2019s Hillary. You know, if anyone thinks they\u2019re entitled, she does.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, David, there might be a grain of truth in this about the Drive-Bys looking down the road wanting an excuse for their loss in November; why not to give Operation Chaos credit. But I really think it is far simpler than that. I think that the reason that the Drive-Bys — and there were many last night: CNN, PMSNBC — went out of their way to even say that the Obama campaign was not analyzing the results right. The Obama campaign is out there saying, ‘Hey, Operation Chaos, Rush Limbaugh, gave Hillary a seven-point bump in Indiana.\u2019 The Drive-Bys spent all night trying to spin this. ‘Aw, no, no, no, no.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s the only mention I\u2019ve heard of it is when it —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but here\u2019s — <\/p>\n

CALLER: — might help Obama.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, but here\u2019s the point. It\u2019s just human nature. They are just jealous. There is not one of those people on one of those networks last night who could possibly have mobilized, influenced voters the way I did. That\u2019s what they think they used to be able to do, and they can\u2019t do it anymore. And they hate it. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Norman, Oklahoma. This is Howard. I\u2019m glad you waited, sir. Welcome to the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you very much, Rush. Validating that you do know these people better than you do yourself, the governor of Oklahoma, the indicted former governor of Oklahoma, Democratic governor David Walters is chairman of the Democratic nominating — you know, the rules committee —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — at the convention.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s true, the Democrat rules committee and that\u2019s something that Mrs. Clinton controls. Mrs. Clinton controls the rules and bylaws committee with at least 50% of its members supporting her. So she might have the inside track getting the ruling she desires on Florida and Michigan. She\u2019s got it wired.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, Governor Walters was on television, interviewed last night, he has already submitted a plan to Howard Dean to have those delegates seated, but he\u2019s going to penalize both states by only allowing them half of their delegates, since they —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, yes. I\u2019m fully aware of that, only going to seat half the delegates. That\u2019s how they\u2019re going to determine fairness.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, that\u2019s the way they\u2019re going to punish them for having their vote early.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, see, let\u2019s set the stage for people and explain what Florida and Michigan is all about. Some of you may be a little confused. The Democrat Party, when they set up their primary schedule, wanted to protect the integrity of the early states, the Hawkeye Cauci, and the New Hampshire primary and some others, and Florida and Michigan said, you know what, we\u2019re tired of going late, we want to go early and be factors here. And the Democrat National Committee said, if you do that, if you violate our rules and our primary schedule, we\u2019re not going to seat your delegates, nobody\u2019s going to count. And they asked the candidates not to campaign there in either of these states. Now, at the time, we figured the fix was in for Hillary on this, because she owned Florida. She was up by 30 in Florida. Now, Barack Obama, when these orders came down from high up, he said, okay, I\u2019m going to be a good soldier, and he pulled himself off the ballot in Michigan. Mrs. Clinton did not. So the Michigan primary happened, the Florida primary happened, and Mrs. Clinton won \u2019em both. But Obama wasn\u2019t even on the ballot there in Michigan. She also won Florida. It was pretty close. I\u2019m not sure what the results in Florida were, but she won them, I think, with Obama on the ballot. <\/p>\n

The Democrat Party and Howard Dean, Howard George Wallace Dean said, you guys, we\u2019re not going to seat your delegates. But the Democrats in both of those states showed up and voted. Minority groups, blacks, Hispanics, women, they showed up and voted. Now, it\u2019s interesting to point out that Mrs. Clinton only got 55% of the vote in Michigan as the only Democrat on the ballot. I think Mike Gravel might have been on the ballot there, too, I\u2019m not sure. But anyway, what we\u2019re down to now is that the Democrats don\u2019t want to seat those delegates in accordance with their rules. Now, I fully understand that the Democrat Party is a private club, it\u2019s an organization, they can set their own rules, and that\u2019s fine and dandy. My only point is that Mrs. Clinton wants the delegations seated. They voted; she wants them to be part of the process, and the Democrat Party does not. Yeah, Clinton won Florida 50-33, 17-point spread. The Democrat Party does not want those delegations seated in full because it would mean Mrs. Clinton would get a majority of delegates in both states, and that would gum up the works. <\/p>\n

The fix is in for Obama. It\u2019s what I\u2019ve been saying all day. The only way Obama can win this is if certain votes in the Democrat primary are not counted. This party is engaged in the greatest disenfranchisement of voters since the Voting Rights Act of 1965. It\u2019s just the way it is. Mrs. Clinton controls the rules and bylaws committee; 50% of its members support her. So that\u2019s why she\u2019s hanging in. I\u2019ve told you for a long time the Clintons are the Clintons, they\u2019re not going to go away.
