<\/p>\nRUSH: I want you to hear Flake.\u00a0 This is last night in Washington, D.C.\u00a0 The Radio-Television Congressional Correspondents Dinner.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t even know they did one of these things in the fall, but they do.\u00a0 And Flake was there.\u00a0 And he was talking about the virtues and the liberating feeling he gets when he abandons his own party.<\/p>\n

FLAKE:\u00a0 When you peel off from the herd, your equilibrium returns.\u00a0 Food tastes better.\u00a0 You sleep well, your mind is your own again, you cease being captive to some bad impulses, and even worse ideas.\u00a0 It can strain relationships to be sure, and you can find yourself eating alone in the Senate dining room every now and then.\u00a0 But that\u2019s okay.\u00a0 To revise and extend a remark the president himself might recognize, I like people whose minds weren\u2019t captured.\u00a0 How I miss John McCain.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You go out to Arizona and you have Martha McSally, who swore on the McCain Bible, swore on the McCain-Flake Bible.\u00a0 She wouldn\u2019t even do conservative media interviews, so anti-Trump.\u00a0 And she ends up losing to some hippie dippie left-wing Marxist, and everybody\u2019s scratching their heads, why?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
