CALLER: Good afternoon, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: First-time caller. As I told your screener, I was a little offended by the words of Howard Dean because I\u2019m equal — sorry — They\u2019re equivalent to what Obama said out in San Francisco, elitist, and I think that the Republican — <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you know something here? Let\u2019s go back and grab audio sound bite number five, because that\u2019s what\u2019s Rob\u2019s referring to here. Now, I\u2019ll have to listen to it again here with you, Rob; but as I listened to it the first time, I didn\u2019t think that Howard Dean was trying to insult them. Did you think he was trying to insult you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. Yes, I did.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think he insulted you without knowing he was. Let\u2019s listen to it again. This is Dean last night at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner in Indianapolis.<\/p>\n

DEAN: We need you to knock on your neighbor\u2019s door. You can overcome anything that Bill O\u2019Reilly and Rush Limbaugh said if you show up. I want you to think about this, I want you to think about this for a minute. If you\u2019re in Texas, Mississippi, or Tennessee, and you\u2019re a hardworking guy and drive a pickup truck, maybe the gun rack in the back, you vote Republican, unless you\u2019re a member of a union. And why is that? Because if you\u2019re a member of a union you still believe the things that those hardworking folks in those states believe, but you have a guy talking to you every month about why it\u2019s important to vote for a Democrat.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. So, Rob, you may be right. He\u2019s insulting southern Republicans with the gun rack-in-the-back-of-the-pickup truck comment. Exactly right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And it is no different than Obama, in essence; Obama\u2019s San Francisco speech about the bitter clingers. Dean just referred to them here, too, with different terminology, and that\u2019s your point, correct?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. And my suggestion for Operation Chaos is to use his comments and Obama\u2019s back-to-back in a political ad, and play it here in the South.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, one second here. Operation Chaos is not in charge of political ads for the Republican Party.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. Okay.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, we could get these sound bites and play them back-to-back as a means of inspiring Operation Chaos voters primarily in North Carolina, I think.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. Maybe in Indiana and North Carolina you\u2019re saying we could use the Battle of the Bulge tactic. (laughs)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Explain that to the audience.<\/p>\n

CALLER: This would be a large surge, basically equivalent to General Petraeus\u2019 tactics in Iraq. Just get a bunch of voters in pickup trucks and with gun racks in the back and show up at the voting polls and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Gotta be careful on this, Rob. <\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: I understand the desire here to have fun with this, but we gotta make sure the people show up are actually voters. Remember, now. The Democrats, both states (but particularly Indiana) are on the prowl, and they are attempting to intimidate Republican crossover voters participating in Operation Chaos. But I like your thinking. Replicate the Battle of the Bulge here as the day of Operation Chaos draws near tomorrow in Indiana and North Carolina. <\/p>\n

Here\u2019s Jerry in Gulfport, Mississippi. Hello, Jerry, nice to have you here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush, I gotta say, I love your show, it\u2019s very educational. I think all Democrats should listen to it. At least it\u2019s fair, you state facts and not opinions like MSNBC and CNN.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I do have some opinions, though, and I do state opinion.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Not as often as they do. As a Democrat, I gotta say I\u2019m sickened by our party. Our head idiot, Howard Dean, thinks Obama is electable. Well, he\u2019s not electable. This whole process has been fair. It hasn\u2019t been fair. This election — look, South Carolina held their primary early, just like Michigan and Florida, but South Carolina counted. I don\u2019t understand that. Hillary Clinton\u2019s got more votes right now than Obama does. How is he ahead? It\u2019s crazy.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, she doesn\u2019t have more votes. He has more pledged delegates.<\/p>\n

CALLER: What does that have — but what does that have to do with being elected? I\u2019ve always understood you get more votes, you\u2019re elected.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, but he has more pledged delegate votes. The popular vote, depending how you count it, it\u2019s nip and tuck. It\u2019s really too close to call. But you\u2019re a Democrat. You understand the superdelegates are the ones that are going to make this decision, and they\u2019ve always been the ones who are gonna make the decision.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Don\u2019t get me started on the superdelegates.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, superdelegates are going to end up committing the equivalent of political murder here once they decide who they want to win. Why can\u2019t Obama win? I got 25 seconds. Why do you think he can\u2019t win?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Reverend Wright. I won\u2019t vote for him because of Reverend Wright.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no, no, no. The New York Times does a poll that says nobody cares about Reverend Wright, AP has a story said that Obama\u2019s actually rebounded from Reverend Wright, is doing well because of the way he handled Reverend Wright.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They\u2019re out of touch with reality —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, but it\u2019s the New York Times.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — because when it comes down to people\u2019s votes — I live here in Mississippi, I own a business, and I see a lot of people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: There are a lot of Democrats that won\u2019t vote for him.<\/p>\n
