RUSH: Over on PMSNBC, a show called Deadline, former Justice Department spokesman Matt Miller — who was he a spokesman for? I\u2019ll tell you, a spokesman for Holder.<\/p>\n

And Matt Miller, former Justice Department spokesman, PR guy for Eric Holder, said that people should take to the streets over Trump removing Jeff Sessions and appointing Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general. So this guy Matt Miller was Holder\u2019s spokesman when Holder was the AG. That gives us a window into the mind-set of a bunch of people on the left.<\/p>\n

“Matt Miller said the timing of this,” meaning get rid of Sessions,\u00a0“is so suspect because we\u2019re so close to the end of the Mueller investigation. Whitaker coming in right now might be at the critical time to stop the key steps that need to happen, indictments or referral to Congress from taking place. I really do think this is a national emergency. I don\u2019t think you can overstate the gravity of the situation. And it\u2019s incumbent upon everyone in public life to respond to this like it\u2019s an emergency.”<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The attorney general\u2019s being fired, being asked to leave. It is perfectly constitutional. And yet the left is running around talking about a constitutional crisis. They still believe that Robert Mueller has evidence that Trump colluded with Russia. And they think that Trump is getting rid of Sessions so that Trump can put somebody in there that is gonna shut this down, so that the truth about Trump stealing the election doesn\u2019t come out. That is what they believe.<\/p>\n

Mr. Miller said, “This isn\u2019t like all of Trump\u2019s other attempts to interfere with the investigation. He\u2019s reached over and found the one person among dozens of political appointees at the Justice Department who has a preordained hostility, publicly stated hostility to the investigation.” That would be Whitaker, who is the interim attorney general. It\u2019s simply a lie. And the media is gonna repeat that until they think it will convince the public that they\u2019re true.<\/p>\n

Whitaker has repeatedly stood up for Mueller\u2019s integrity. But they\u2019re out there saying this guy — now, he did question the scope of the investigation and the way it was put together because there\u2019s no crime! The Mueller investigation is bogus on a whole lot of levels. But they don\u2019t want it shut down \u2019cause they think Mueller\u2019s on the verge of finally get rid of Trump.<\/p>\n

They think Mueller is really dignified. He could have done this before the midterms and he could have really nailed the Republican Party. But Mueller is a dignified, he\u2019s a true blue great American. He did not want to impact the outcome of an election, but he\u2019s got to — They do think that Mueller has got what they haven\u2019t been able to find. And they think Trump\u2019s gonna shut it down. They think Trump getting rid of Sessions means that it\u2019s only a matter of time before Mueller is fired or shut down.<\/p>\n

John Brennan, CIA director for Obama, warns that there is a constitutional crisis coming very, very soon because of this.\u00a0 He also was on PMSNBC.\u00a0 He said “the firing of Attorney General Jeff Sessions Wednesday shows the United States may be facing a constitutional crisis ‘very soon.'”\u00a0 You know what the constitutional crisis has been?\u00a0 The constitutional crisis has been the ongoing, approaching now two-year effort at the highest levels of the Department of Justice and the FBI to meddle in the 2016 election.<\/p>\n

Not the Russians, but James Comey and Peter Strzok and Andrew McCabe and all the rest of those people!\u00a0 Lisa Page, all of the spies they embedded in the Trump campaign. Hillary Clinton paying for the dossier that was then treated as legitimate intel when it wasn\u2019t, to go get a FISA warrant to spy to the Trump campaign!\u00a0 That\u2019s meddling in the 2016 election.\u00a0 That\u2019s trying to keep Trump from winning it.\u00a0 That\u2019s trying to make sure that Hillary won the damn thing.<\/p>\n

\"\"And then after Trump won, the operation continued in an effort to overthrow Trump and get him thrown out of office \u2019cause they refuse to accept the result of the election.\u00a0 That\u2019s the meddling that\u2019s gone on.\u00a0 The constitutional crisis has been this ongoing, silent coup that is still underway for two years to destroy the candidacy and then the transition and then the presidency of Donald Trump.\u00a0 That\u2019s where the Constitution has been threatened.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s where the Constitution has been in crisis.\u00a0 Firing the attorney general is a constitutional crisis?\u00a0 Let me tell you something.\u00a0 Donald Trump would be stupid not to get a wartime team to be able to help him out \u2019cause they have made no bones what they have planned.\u00a0 Have you heard what was…? There was somebody on the train with Jerry Nadler.\u00a0 He runs one of the committees in the House.<\/p>\n

They run together, in my mind.\u00a0 But he\u2019s got maybe judiciary.\u00a0 What\u2019s his face, Adam Schiff —\u00a0 Pencil Neck — has the Intelligence Committee and replaces Devin Nunes as the chairman.\u00a0 But Nadler was on the phone on the train; he was overheard<\/a>.\u00a0 They\u2019re gonna investigate Kavanaugh all over again. They\u2019re gonna go out and find even more women. They\u2019re gonna investigate and impeach Trump.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re gonna just never stop. The next two years are nothing but never ending investigations.\u00a0 And Jerry Nadler, head of a committee, was overheard talking about this.\u00a0 Trump would be silly not to get prepared for this. (interruption) Judiciary!\u00a0 Judiciary. That\u2019s what it is, the Judiciary Committee.\u00a0 Jerry Nadler from New York.\u00a0 I mean, they\u2019re telegraph what they\u2019re gonna do.\u00a0 Then you\u2019ve got Maxine Waters out there wherever the hell she is promising much the same.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 You know about Jeff Sessions, it\u2019s funny.\u00a0 You remember Eric Holder?\u00a0 Yeah, how about during the confirmation? How about during the confirmation of Sessions as attorney general? Do you remember all those Democrats telling us that Sessions should not be confirmed because he is a racist? Remember all of the mocking of Sessions because his middle name is Beauregard? I think even Maude Behar was laughing at Sessions because his name was Beauregard.<\/p>\n

She would say, “We all know what somebody with the middle name ‘Beauregard\u2019 is, don\u2019t we?\u00a0 Ha-ha-ha.”\u00a0 Jefferson Beauregard Sessions!\u00a0 They were making mock jokes about how this guy may well just still be a slave owner — and if he isn\u2019t, he must admire them. He\u2019s a racist. Now all of a sudden, it\u2019s a constitutional crisis if this guy is let go.\u00a0 Now, Holder\u2019s spokesman wants people to riot in the streets because Trump removes him?<\/p>\n

I mean, even by the left\u2019s hypocritical standards this is pretty nuts.<\/p>\n

RUSH: \u00a0It\u2019s great to have you, and my condolences, you got that new Pritzker guy as your mayor. \u00a0You people never get a break there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: \u00a0No. No. It\u2019s horrible.<\/p>\n

RUSH: \u00a0Not mayor. \u00a0Governor.<\/p>\n

CALLER: \u00a0Governor. \u00a0Governor. Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: \u00a0Right. Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: \u00a0Who keeps driving on. \u00a0 So my question is, do you think with Sessions out there\u2019s a chance that President Trump would ask Trey Gowdy to be his next attorney general?<\/p>\n

\"\"RUSH: \u00a0 I\u2019ve heard a different rumor. \u00a0 I don\u2019t think it would be Gowdy only because I don\u2019t know how — I\u2019m trying to search my memory bank. \u00a0There\u2019s something gnawing, something telling me that Gowdy has got some problems with Trump, but I can\u2019t remember why I think that.<\/p>\n

But the rumor I\u2019ve heard — you ready for this? Lindsey Graham for attorney general to be replaced by Nikki Haley as the senator in South Carolina. \u00a0That\u2019s a popular rumor that I have — and I have no compunction about spreading the rumor. I have no idea if it\u2019s true or not, but that\u2019s the only rumor I\u2019ve heard about who the next AG might be.<\/p>\n

CALLER: \u00a0Excellent.<\/p>\n

RUSH: \u00a0You like that one?<\/p>\n

CALLER: \u00a0I do. I do. \u00a0But, I mean, I just think with him being embattled, you know, and needing somebody who knows how to fight a war, I would say Trey Gowdy would be the best.<\/p>\n

RUSH: \u00a0Why do you think that? \u00a0Now, there\u2019s no wrong answer, I\u2019m just curious. \u00a0Why do you think that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: \u00a0Well, because he\u2019s got the prosecutor background and he has the ability to know the Constitution and the law, and he\u2019s —<\/p>\n

RUSH: \u00a0Right. But what have you seen him do? \u00a0You\u2019ve seen him chair Republican — he chaired the Benghazi committee. \u00a0Did he impress you there? Did he get results?<\/p>\n

CALLER: \u00a0He impressed me there. \u00a0He couldn\u2019t get results because, you know, there\u2019s so much gridlock in Washington, in my opinion, anyway. \u00a0So with not a lot of help he did an awful lot.<\/p>\n

RUSH: \u00a0Well, I\u2019ll see what I can find out about that. \u00a0I know that there\u2019s been talk about him as being a potential great attorney general for the reasons that you cite, being a prosecutor. \u00a0Apparently he was unstoppable as a prosecutor. Apparently he loves it. And supposedly he has been thinking about returning to it. But I\u2019ve not heard his name bandied. \u00a0By the way, I don\u2019t know what to think of the Lindsey Graham and Nikki Haley thing. Of all people, I\u2019ve never seen Senator Graham as attorney general. Not saying I couldn\u2019t or can\u2019t. \u00a0It just hadn\u2019t popped up until I heard the rumor. And I always — you know, the Peter principle too. People do great where they are and, “Oh, man we gotta promote \u2019em.” And you end up leaving a void.<\/p>\n

Senator Graham has been doing great work in there as a senator since he, uh, since he began to walk the path alone. You know, I hate to mention this, but since the passing of Senator McCain, Senator Graham has been a much more fervent supporter of President Trump. \u00a0I\u2019m not saying he never has been, but he was deferential to Senator McCain for a while, but since McCain\u2019s passing, Senator Graham has been — well, he\u2019s been excellent. And I would hate to lose that kind of energy and willingness to use it in the Senate.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
