<\/p>\nRUSH: Well, my point is, folks, that I don\u2019t believe Donald Trump is why Republicans lost the House last night. I think Republicans are why the Republicans lost the House last night. I don\u2019t believe it\u2019s Donald Trump. But we can discuss that. Let\u2019s get to the phones because people have been patiently waiting. I\u2019m gonna start in Charlotte, North Carolina, with John. Welcome, sir. You\u2019re next, and hello.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Hello, Rush. Thank you and Mr. Snerdley for takin\u2019 my call.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You bet.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I was instructed to be brief, and I will try to be so. This morning many people were very, uhhh, dejected based on the results, and much like you have said before, I turned it around. I said, “You can\u2019t go to negative. It costs more energy to be positive.” But this is just setting us up for 2020, where the Dems are gonna get their chance now and, I feel, are gonna fail miserably, and the American people will be able to see that and come back with a real firestorm in 2020. That\u2019s my concept.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, that\u2019s likely. (sigh) It becomes… (chuckles) Well, I was gonna say, “It becomes difficult to predict the future.” It\u2019s impossible, actually. But we can give it a shot, and I know what your thinking is. Your thinking is that the Democrats are gonna be who they are, and they\u2019re gonna follow through on trying to get Trump out of office. They still haven\u2019t accepted that they lost the election. They still haven\u2019t accepted that Trump won. It\u2019s still what\u2019s driving them. Not just in the House; Democrats everywhere.<\/p>\n

But Adam Schiff, for example, is gonna take over the House committee that Nunes is running. I get them confused. But he\u2019s gonna be do nothing… He\u2019s gonna do nothing but investigate Trump on Russia and tax returns. It\u2019s gonna be flying subpoenas all over the place. The only caveat is whoever the speaker is. The smart money says it\u2019s gonna be Pelosi, but I really am gonna be keeping a sharp eye out for some of these new arrivals on the Democrat side, some of these young Millennial types — who, believe me, know more than anything about anybody.<\/p>\n

They know more than anybody knows, and they have no patience. I mean, we\u2019re almost in a Logan\u2019s Run. Remember that movie where everybody over 30 was killed? Well, we\u2019re not quite there, but the attitude here is that old people need to get out of the way and stop slowing things down and screwing things up. Old people simply can\u2019t relate to the present. They can\u2019t… (interruption) Do what? Well, Pelosi…<\/p>\n
The question is being asked, “Will the newcomers be threatened?” Sure. But you can\u2019t threaten Ocasio-Cortez. In fact, she\u2019s got a new way of dealing with questions that she can\u2019t answer. She\u2019s telling people, “You\u2019re not qualified to ask me that. You have no business asking me that!” See, that\u2019s the way she\u2019s gonna deal with the questions like, “How are you gonna pay for this this $40 trillion Medicare for all and everything else?”<\/p>\n
“You\u2019re not qualified to ask me that because you haven\u2019t fixed your own spending problem. Until you fix your own spending, you can\u2019t question me!” That\u2019s how she\u2019s gonna shut it down. The tradition is — and this is both parties, by the way. The newbies are brought in by leadership. (interruption) There\u2019s a mic open somewhere. I\u2019m hearing something from somewhere. (interruption) Thank you. Newbies are brought in, and they\u2019re given the lay of the land. The leadership will say, “Okay. Welcome. It\u2019s great to have you here in the House of Representatives. Do you want to stay?”<\/p>\n
“Yeah, yeah, I really want to.”<\/p>\n
“Fine. You vote the way we tell you. If you vote the way we tell you, then maybe — bide your time, be patient — you\u2019ll get a committee appointment, and then maybe we\u2019ll get you some reelection money. And maybe we\u2019ll try to get behind you here as the whole Democrat Party or Republican Party and help you advance in the House. If you don\u2019t vote the way that we want you to vote, then you\u2019re gonna be a nonperson here.” Luis Gutierrez in his freshman year admitted all of this on 60 Minutes (chuckles) when he was a freshman Democrat.<\/p>\n
He won\u2019t say it publicly anymore.<\/p>\n
But I don\u2019t see this new crop putting up with that. I see them sitting here as Pelosi gives them that lay of the land and firing right back, “Who are you, old woman? You got no business telling us what to do! You think you run this place? It\u2019s your turn to get out of the way. You don\u2019t threaten me.” I\u2019m saying, I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if that happens. But, anyway, there\u2019s simply no way that any element of a Democrat agenda can move forward here without somebody, somewhere caving in on it.<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s got his agenda items. The Democrats are not gonna help Trump do anything. They\u2019re not gonna help him do one thing, unless they cave. (sigh) Now, you know, you roll the dice. We have experience with people caving all the time. We don\u2019t have a history of Trump doing it. So let\u2019s assume that there\u2019s gridlock, which is the natural state in divided government — and, by the way, this is exactly as designed. The founders of our government wanted it to do as little as possible.<\/p>\n
And the reason for all of these checks and balances was to make sure that government moved at a snail\u2019s pace in getting bigger. The founders distrusted government. That\u2019s why the Bill of Rights and the Constitution limits government, puts limits on what government can do. Well, the left doesn\u2019t like that. They think the Constitution\u2019s outdated, needs to be rewritten, and things the government can do need to be specified. So they\u2019re not gonna help any element of the Trump agenda unless the Trump agenda is exactly what they want.<\/p>\n
Pick an issue. If the Democrats get amnesty? If Trump says, “Fine. I\u2019ll give you whatever you want,” no wall, whatever, then of course they\u2019ll go along with that. But if Trump bucks them on anything, nothing is gonna get done. That is to Trump\u2019s benefit for 2020. So I happen to think that because of last night Trump… (chuckles) It\u2019s kind of risky thing to say at this point, but it may well be that Trump got reelected last night, if the Democrats play to type.<\/p>\n
If they do nothing but investigate, start having multiple subpoenas flying around, if they do nothing but investigate the entire Trump administration, cabinet appointments, everything that they\u2019re upset about. But, remember, the Democrats believe that every one of their voters despises and hates Donald Trump, and they think to get reelected themselves they have to destroy Trump. So that\u2019s gonna be their objective. But Trump\u2019s agenda — very important parts of it — can move forward in the Senate, such as judicial appointments, cabinet appointments.<\/p>\n
There is nothing the House of Representatives can do to stop Trump and judges. There\u2019s nothing Pelosi or anybody in the House can do to stop Trump and his appointments to the cabinet. If they try for impeachment? Fine, let \u2019em do it. But there\u2019s never gonna be… I don\u2019t care how these races in the Senate go — and, by the way, Jon Tester has just been proclaimed the winner in Montana; so that\u2019s disappointing. Oh, and guess what? I just got a note. “They just found 500,000 votes in Phoenix. Just happened to find 500,000 votes in Phoenix.”<\/p>\n
That\u2019s the race between Sinema and Martha McSally that even this morning only 75% of the votes had been counted. So that one was hanging around out there. Nelson is calling for a recount in Florida. Rick Scott, the Republican. Come on, let\u2019s just move forward. There\u2019s no need for a recount. The odds are, if everybody plays to type, that the Democrats are going to make it impossible for anything else that would be beneficial to the people of this country from happening. No additional tax cuts, no additional things that would spur the economy.<\/p>\n

I think Trump will be able to say in his reelection campaign, be able to draw a comparison, “Look at the first two years when I had a Republican Congress and look at all that we got down and go down the list, rat tat tat tat tat tat. And now look at what\u2019s happened the past two years. And I\u2019ve tried to work with them, you heard me say that I was willing to work with them, I was willing to compromise with \u2019em, I\u2019m willing to cross the aisle, but they had no interest. We\u2019ve been brought to a standstill.” That\u2019s if everybody plays to type.<\/p>\n
But much of this we\u2019re just gonna have to wait for it to happen to see what actually does. It\u2019s fun to prognosticate and predict. I just can\u2019t see the Democrats in the House finding a way to put aside their lustful hatred for Trump, their uncontrollable poisoned outrage for Trump. I can\u2019t see them putting that aside.<\/p>\n
There will be some of them who will advise that that would be the thing to do, but I can\u2019t see them succeeding at that. They just have too much personal hatred for the guy, coupled with their unwillingness even now to accept the election outcome in 2016.<\/p>\n
BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n
RUSH: (interruption) No, Stacey Abrams was not conceding. It was just B-roll. They\u2019re getting ready here for a runoff if they can get that race down to 50% or less. The winner has to get 51% or be a runoff governor in Georgia. (interruption) Just 50% and then there has to be a runoff in — it has to be 50 or 51? Yeah, 50.1% there\u2019s no runoff; right? It\u2019s at 51% now or it was when the program started.<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s see. I want to elaborate a bit on my prediction that these young whippersnappers, Democrats that are gonna be part of the Democrat majority in the House are gonna make a beeline for getting rid of some of these octogenarian types in the leadership like Pelosi and Steny Hoyer. I don\u2019t think even the Democrats have a clue what is coming their way.<\/p>\n
The elderly Democrats, the seasoned professional Democrats that have been in the House and the House leadership for a long time, I don\u2019t think even they understand people like Ocasio-Cortez. I think they look at her and they see a dingbat. They see somebody that doesn\u2019t know what they\u2019re talking about, young, enthusiastic, they\u2019re happy to have her, don\u2019t misunderstand, but she is not seasoned yet.<\/p>\n

They have an no idea. These people are right out of the Obama Saul Alinsky school and what they are is community organizers and the House of Representatives is gonna be their target. There are gonna be young whippersnapper Democrat community organizers in the House trying to community organize it!<\/p>\n
Rather than trying to community organize Chicago or community organize a neighborhood here or there, they are gonna bring organizer — and that has a specific definition to them. Remember when Obama was a community organizer? Rudy at the Republican convention in 2008, “Community organizer, what\u2019s a community organizer?” We saw after a while what that is. It\u2019s somebody that wants to overthrow and transform every democratic tradition from the founding and turn the country into something it wasn\u2019t intended to be using intimidation and bullying and just full-fledged intimidation.<\/p>\n
These young Ocasio-Cortez types, I don\u2019t know how successful they\u2019re gonna be, but I\u2019m just telling you they are gonna start organizing in the House. And it\u2019s not just Republicans that are gonna be their targets. The Republicans really can\u2019t stop them. They\u2019re gonna want the leadership of the House for themselves.<\/p>\n
You wait. They\u2019re gonna try this. I can\u2019t predict to you how it\u2019s actually gonna manifest, what behavior\u2019s gonna be, but I can tell you that I don\u2019t think the Pelosis of the world are prepared for it yet. I can pretty much guarantee she\u2019s not based on the press conference that she\u2019s done.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
