RUSH: Here\u2019s Michelle Obama yesterday at a rally in Pennsylvania talking about elitism.<\/p>\n

MICHELLE OBAMA: There\u2019s a lot of people talking about elitism and all of that. But let me tell you who me and Barack are so that you are not confused. Yeah, I went to Princeton and Harvard. But the lens through which I see the world is the lens that I grew up with. I am the product of a working-class upbringing. I grew up on the south side of Chicago in a working-class community. I want people to know when they look at me, to be clear that they see what an investment in public education can look like.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, come on, give me a break, Michelle (My Belle). For crying out loud, you\u2019re out there encouraging people not to do what you did! She\u2019s out there, she\u2019s talking to poor women in Ohio and in Pennsylvania telling them, like Reverend Wright tells them, to avoid middle-classness. And now she\u2019s out there trying to portray herself as the middle class. She\u2019s not elite, no. She\u2019s public education: Harvard, Princeton, wherever she went, $300,000 working at a hospital after her husband gets a gig in the Senate. These people are so phony, pure elitists. Does she sound a little angry there, by the way? I think she sounded a little angry. These Democrats, they\u2019re either fully enraged or they\u2019re just on the precipice of it. ‘But I want people to know when they look at me to be clear that they see what an investment in public education can look like.\u2019 Is Princeton public education? It\u2019s not. She had student loans, of course, because they\u2019ve been complaining about how long it took to pay them off. Anyway, this, again, a confusing message from a nearly angry Michelle (My Belle) Obama, saying look at me and see what an investment in public education can do, I\u2019m just middle class, while she\u2019s telling everybody else not to do what she has done.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: About the last caller, the last caller from Pocatello, Idaho<\/a>, basically said that he and his family go to church to be uplifted, which is the case for most people. I mean, some people are just putting in time and making an appearance, but most people go to be uplifted. At the beginning of the next hour, I\u2019m going to replay The Battle Hymn of the Republic sung by the US Army Chorus today at the White House welcoming ceremony for Pope Benedict XVI. I guarantee you\u2019re going to be uplifted when you hear this. People go to church and people seek God to be uplifted. Barack Obama, however, thinks these people go to church because they\u2019re clinging and their lives are in such rotten shape and they\u2019re so horrible. But maybe Obama was speaking from personal experience when talking about these small town people, because, after all, what kind of uplifting do you think happens in Obama\u2019s church? You know, Obama\u2019s friends and Obama\u2019s family, they\u2019re already bitter. They\u2019re already angry, and they go to church, and they listen to Reverend Wright, and they walk out of there feeling even worse. <\/p>\n

They go in these churches and Reverend Wright speaks and they walk out of there and they\u2019re depressed as they can be and they\u2019re mad and they\u2019re loaded for bear, and what Obama did was just project his own experience. You go to Obama\u2019s church, I guarantee you you\u2019re going to walk out of there being ticked off like you haven\u2019t been ticked off before. You\u2019re going to go to hear Jeremiah Wright\u2019s sermon, and you\u2019re going to walk out of it, ‘Damn it, I knew it, I thought we were making progress, but I just found out we\u2019re getting screwed again. We\u2019re getting screwed in ways we don\u2019t even know it. We\u2019re getting screwed where we can\u2019t even feel it. We\u2019re getting screwed every which way. We\u2019re moving backwards, this is horrible,\u2019 blah, blah, blah. They walk out of there mad as hell. Maybe Obama does, too. So maybe Obama is just projecting that when all people go to church, they come out of there ticked off. Obama is trying to battle this notion that he\u2019s an elitist, and so is his lovely and gracious wife Michelle (My Belle). Obama in Washington, Pennsylvania, yesterday, at a town hall meeting with veterans.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: I am amused about this notion of elitist, given that, you know, when you\u2019re raised by a single mom, or you\u2019re on food stamps for a while when you were growing up, you went to school on scholarship, that\u2019s when you know we\u2019re in political silly season.
