RUSH: We\u2019re going to move on now to Operation Chaos and the current status of the operation as it affects the Democrat Party. Los Angeles Times today: ‘Howard Dean Says Superdelegates are Free Agents.\u2019 This is a huge development in Operation Chaos. ‘Citing Democratic rules, national committee Chairman Howard Dean on Tuesday said that the superdelegates who are poised to select the party\u2019s presidential nominee are free to back whomever they wish at the end of the primaries, regardless of who leads in the popular vote or pledged delegates. ‘They should use whatever yardstick they want,\u2019 Dean said in an interview at party headquarters. ‘That\u2019s what the rules provide for.\u2019 … He also said superdelegates were free to weigh the disputed primary results in Florida and Michigan,\u2019 also announced today, by the way, they are going to seek the Florida delegation. Well, that ought to shake up the Obama campaign. It will please the Hillary campaign. <\/p>\n

In a related story, New York Times today: ”Democrats\u2019 Turmoil Tests Party\u2019s Low-Key Leader\u2019 — The turmoil in the Democratic presidential race has presented a sharp test of Howard Dean\u2019s low-profile approach to leading the Democratic National Committee, bringing calls from many Democrats for him to take a more aggressive role in defusing,\u2019 the chaos that\u2019s happening here. ‘In an interview, Mr. Dean said he was taking steps to pave the way to a smooth convention. … ‘I\u2019m making calls all the time to people,\u2019 he said. ‘I\u2019ve spoken to a great number of leaders who are not aligned.” Can anybody name for me the chairman of the Republican National Committee? That\u2019s low-key. Operation Chaos rolling right on. Ruth Marcus today, Washington Post: ‘Too Soon To Stop This Movie.\u2019 Woman, pro-Hillary, resents people telling her she needs to get out of this. ‘The unyielding arithmetic of the Democrats\u2019 delegate selection rules makes Hillary Clinton\u2019s prospects of winning the nomination dim — and that\u2019s the rosy scenario. The prolonged primary contest, with candidates and aides bickering like cranky toddlers partway through a long, hot car ride, is bad for the Democratic Party. Still, Clinton shouldn\u2019t drop out. Not yet, anyway. The party adopted procedures for picking the nominee that no one expected would matter. Now, having worked hard and played by those rules, to employ a Clintonian phrase, Clinton is under pressure to quit before the game is over. Why should she? Clinton trails Barack Obama by at least 133 delegates. At a comparable point in the 1984 race, Gary Hart was more than 600 delegates behind Walter Mondale. At this stage in 1980, Ted Kennedy lagged Jimmy Carter by nearly 1,000 delegates.\u2019 <\/p>\n

And neither Hart nor Teddy Kennedy pulled out then. See, the two guys didn\u2019t pull out. The Democrats weren\u2019t telling the guys to pull out and quit, and they were way far behind the leaders back then, further behind than Hillary is now. ‘The clamor for Clinton\u2019s departure stems from Democrats\u2019 well-founded fear that they will manage to blow what should have been an easy win. Even if the campaigns were playing nice, continuing the fight imposes political costs. The way it\u2019s going, McCain\u2019s admakers need only follow the candidates with video cameras, then splice in the relevant footage once the nominee is chosen.\u2019 It would be great if McCain was going to do that, but I don\u2019t think he\u2019s gonna allow that. (doing McCain impression) ‘That\u2019s right. That\u2019s right, Limbaugh, we are going to run an honorable campaign, meaningful, honorable campaign reform, led by me and my team. I don\u2019t care if it disappoints you or anybody else on the far right. We\u2019re still going to do an honorable campaign. And I\u2019m going to appear on Letterman as often as I have to to make him like me, cuz everybody should like me.\u2019 <\/p>\n

‘The Order Sons of Italy in America has called on the Rev. Jeremiah Wright to apologize for remarks he made in an article published in the church\u2019s November\/December 2007 Trumpet Newsmagazine. Wright wrote in a eulogy for the late scholar Asa Hilliard–‘ and we told you about this last week, ‘– ‘(Jesus\u2019) enemies had their opinion about Him. The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses…\u2019 So the organization here headed up — the Sons of Italy — headed up by Philip Piccigallo, said, ‘We were in a quandary. We did not want to become immersed in a political media circus, and we did not want to appear to be siding with anyone, but we could not stand idly by. As the story was being discussed or managed or reviewed in various ways, the Italian American aspect of it was omitted. Clearly, (Wright\u2019s remarks) were aimed at Italian-Americans,\u2019 their garlic noses. Well, see, that\u2019s the thing. I think to you in the Sons of Italy, you need to understand where Reverend Wright\u2019s coming from. All of us who are of European heritage, we need to take a step back. We need to understand the roots of black liberation theology and we need to understand their rage, and because of the original sin in this country of slavery, we need to allow for these people to say whatever they want, whenever they want because we can\u2019t by any way, shape, manner, or form relate to their experiences, the oppressed and so forth. That\u2019s what we\u2019re being told. <\/p>\n

If we are to believe the polling data — and I think the polling data is highly suspect, by the way, because of the Wilder Effect and perhaps even the reverse Wilder Effect. There is a reverse Wilder Effect possible here, too. I\u2019ll explain both of those in a second. The polling data says that the Wright business, all those sermons and speaking of those, Obama is out there talking about, ‘Well, you take sound bites here from 30 years or 20 years of work or whatever and you loop \u2019em on television, of course you can present him out of context.\u2019 Hey, Barack baby, there was no great work done to find those sermons. They were on the DVDs produced by the reverend\u2019s church. The reverend\u2019s church wanted that stuff seen. That\u2019s what they put on the DVDs. Nobody went and dubbed anything over. At any rate, the polls say that Reverend Wright has not hurt Obama at all. He\u2019s gaining ground in Pennsylvania. Now, here\u2019s the Wilder Effect, and it\u2019s named for Doug Wilder, who ran for governor of Virginia. It\u2019s also sometimes called the Bradley Effect for Tom Bradley in Los Angeles. <\/p>\n

Basically, what it is is white people lie to pollsters. When the pollsters show up or call you on the phone and ask you if you\u2019re going to vote for whoever in a campaign, if one of the candidates is black, black candidates tend to get a higher percentage of support from white people in a poll, they tell the pollsters, ‘Yeah, I\u2019m voting for the black guy,\u2019 because they don\u2019t want the pollster to think they\u2019re racist. The reverse Wilder Effect has been discovered. Sometimes when pollsters get hold of black people, black people will not say they\u2019re voting for the black guy because they don\u2019t want the pollster to think that the only thing that matters to them is racial solidarity. I\u2019ve got the story here deep in the Chaos Stack. I\u2019m going to have to paraphrase it. Basically what it is is they\u2019ve done surveys: When live human beings from polling companies call blacks, there is the reverse Wilder Effect. They will not say they\u2019re going to vote for the black guy or the black candidate in an actual representative way. But if it is a machine that does the call, a robocall, if it\u2019s obviously a machine, the polling people get different results from the same sample. The point is that black people who were called by a machine from polling company are more honest talking to the machine than a human being. I read the story, and I said, ‘Well, the solution to this is like we\u2019re solving everything in this country. We\u2019re Balkanizing ourselves. Only women can represent women; only blacks can represent blacks; everybody has to hate whites; only Asians can represent Asians. So let\u2019s have the polling companies hire some black people to call black people, if it\u2019s what it takes to get the truth. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: From the San Francisco Chronicle, Phillip Matier, Andrew Ross, ”Bill Clinton\u2019s Tirade Stunned Some Delegates\u2019 — The Bill Clinton who met privately with California\u2019s superdelegates at last weekend\u2019s state convention was a far cry from the congenial former president who afterward publicly urged fellow Democrats to ‘chill out\u2019. What happened was, everything was going fine, and then a former Bill Richardson delegate, Rachel Binah, who now supports Hillary, told Bill ‘how ‘sorry\u2019 she was to have heard former Clinton campaign manager James Carville call Richardson a ‘Judas\u2019 for backing Obama. It was as if someone pulled the pin from a grenade. ‘Five times to my face (Richardson) said that he would never do that,” and apparently Clinton just blew up, just lost it. He\u2019s doing that more and more in this campaign, and more and more people are seeing this. <\/p>\n

Does the name Jerry Zeifman ring a bell? Jerry Zeifman — (interruption) yes, during the Clinton impeachment. Jerry Zeifman was a head honcho during the Nixon Watergate period hearings. He was the guy who hired Hillary Clinton on that committee. He\u2019s also the guy who fired her. He supervised her when she worked in the Watergate investigation. He says, ‘Hillary\u2019s history of lies and unethical behavior goes back farther — and goes much deeper — than anyone realizes. Jerry Zeifman, a lifelong Democrat, supervised the work of 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. He fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation — one of only three people who earned that dubious distinction in Zeifman\u2019s 17-year career. Why? ‘Because she was a liar,\u2019 Zeifman said in an interview last week. ‘She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.\u2019 … The actions of Hillary and her cohorts went directly against the judgment of top Democrats, up to and including then-House Majority Leader Tip O\u2019Neill, that Nixon clearly had the right to counsel.\u2019 She tried to see to it Nixon didn\u2019t get a lawyer in all of this. <\/p>\n

‘Zeifman says that Hillary … was determined to gain enough votes on the Judiciary Committee to change House rules and deny counsel to Nixon. And in order to pull this off, Zeifman says Hillary wrote a fraudulent legal brief, and confiscated public documents to hide her deception.\u2019 Now, this is Dan Calabrese at NorthStarWriters.com. William O. Douglas had been brought up when he was on the Supreme Court, and he was granted the right to a lawyer. It\u2019s fundamental in our judicial system. ”Hillary then removed all the Douglas files to the offices where she was located, which at that time was secured and inaccessible to the public,\u2019 Zeifman said. Hillary then proceeded to write a legal brief arguing there was no precedent for the right to representation by counsel during an impeachment proceeding — as if the Douglas case had never occurred.\u2019 She just stole the documents, then wrote a fraudulent brief, and she tried to hide the evidence. ‘The brief was so fraudulent and ridiculous, Zeifman believes Hillary would have been disbarred if she had submitted it to a judge.\u2019 I don\u2019t know if this is going to get wide play, but if it does, it could finish her off. Really only they can finish themselves off, and they\u2019re in the process of doing it. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m here in Michigan, and our Democrat primary\u2019s already passed. In any case, it doesn\u2019t count anyway. So I was calling to get my marching orders from the supreme commander of Operation Chaos on what I and other Americans like me should do to help out.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, in Michigan, I realize, you\u2019re in the reserves.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We may need you down the road. I don\u2019t know what you could do, but you know the husband of Debbie Stabenow has been caught buying a prostitute for 150 bucks. Have you heard that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I have not.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yep, Debbie Stabenow\u2019s husband, Athans, whatever, the guy running liberal talk radio.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Really.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Paid 150 bucks for a hooker. Of course, she\u2019s issued a statement disapproving of this. But there might be an opportunity here for chaos in Michigan on that regard. I\u2019ll have to think about that. Look, I appreciate your desire. A lot of people, a lot of people want to be part of Operation Chaos.
