RUSH: John in Dallas, you\u2019re next, sir, on EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Howdy, sir. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine, sir, thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: First-time caller, mega dittos to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Been listening for over 20 years.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s great. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Listen, your media comment earlier in the show about, you know, people being upset at fuel prices, food prices, things like that, and turning to the government for help, and essentially I feel the same way, except I\u2019m turning to them for help to get out of what they\u2019re doing. You know, and clean up the mess that they\u2019ve made to cause this crisis.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s exactly right. That\u2019s exactly right. That has been the message of today\u2019s sermon.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly. Because, as an example, basically always owned my own small business, and we\u2019ve been blessed in a lot of ways, and we have some acreage here in the area. We grow hay and, you know, putting animals out and stuff. But anyway, over the last five years, to fertilize that ten acres with weed killers cost me just shy under $300. But this past year, because of ethanol and the demand for those crops and the spike in fertilizer and everything else to go after that, that price has over doubled. It cost me this year over $600 to do the same thing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, now, you\u2019re not blaming Big Oil or you\u2019re not blaming the fertilizer company. You\u2019re blaming the government?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: A smart guy on the phones here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. You know, if we could get them… I mean, it\u2019s almost as if every politician ought to have a course in economics before they go to Washington, you know, or actually go out there and hands-on in a tutelage.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I agree. That would never happen, but it\u2019s a great way to illustrate the point. I mean, here are these guys on that committee yesterday lecturing Big Oil. Big Oil… You may hate oil companies, but there\u2019s no reason for you to. You may hate \u2019em. You\u2019ve been forced to hate \u2019em. But they\u2019re the ones putting gasoline in your tank and these little two-bit nerds on that committee lecturing these guys wouldn\u2019t know the first thing about raising or drilling or producing any oil if their lives depended on it. They just sit up there as experts. They\u2019re screwing everything up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
