RUSH: Louisville, Kentucky, J.T., welcome to the EIB Network, sir. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir. I heard the caller that called yesterday, I believe it was, brought up the antique law about not being able to switch after December and still be able to vote, but I registered in 2001 as an independent, sir, and am waiting for orders from you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you\u2019re not encumbered in Kentucky by that law that said you had to be registered to vote by December 31st because you\u2019re an independent?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir. I\u2019m fairly young, I just turned 31, and it just seemed fair to me, that come election time, I should be able to have a voice in both sides, so I registered independent, and I know it\u2019s a little early. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, let me ask you a question here, because I haven\u2019t looked — Kentucky is not \u2019til May 20th, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir, that\u2019s correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, so that\u2019s way on down the pike here. This is about six or seven weeks away, and can independents vote in Democrat and Republican primaries?<\/p>\n

CALLER: From what I understand, I have been told from everyone I\u2019ve asked that I can because I want to be a part of what\u2019s going on.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And you want to be a part of Operation Chaos?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: See, another volunteer. Nobody gets drafted into Operation Chaos. We have another volunteer here, ladies and gentlemen. This is easy, J.T. You simply, as a registered independent, by May 20th, I\u2019m telling you, it will still be necessary to vote Mrs. Clinton in the Kentucky primary.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Highgate, Vermont, this is Claude. Claude, nice to have you with us.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Dittos, Rush, pleasure to be speaking with you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: When I heard Pat Leahy, our illustrious Senator, get into the fray the other day it reminded me of something that happened during one of his elections a few years ago, when a man named Fred Tuttle, the man with the plan, you may have heard him.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah, everybody\u2019s heard of Fred Tuttle, a man with a plan, sure. (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it actually happened in that situation was the Republicans had a primary, and the Democrats had no primary. We had a legitimate businessman who would have given Senator Leahy a decent run for his money, and Fred Tuttle, who was kind of a joke candidate, and all the Democrats thought they were so quaint and cute, and they went over to the Republican — in the Republican primary, and they voted for Fred Tuttle and eliminated the true candidate. And as soon as Mr. Tuttle won, he endorsed Mr. Leahy, and the rest is history. And so it was a double standard. If anybody\u2019s giving you grief for what Operation Chaos is doing because in Vermont, they just thought it was so funny that they would co-opt the Republican primary and put this Fred Tuttle, who, I think his main platform was sending all pollution into outer space. He became the Republican nominee to run against Senator Leahy. Leahy never had a problem with that co-opting of —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I remember that, because Fred Tuttle, the man with the plan, was the forerunner of today\u2019s Democrats.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Put all the pollution in a spaceship and launch it into outer space.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I get your point. This is the thing, the Democrats chose our nominee, for crying out loud, this year!<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, Democrats and independents crossing over and voting Republican because they wanted McCain. They thought McCain would be the easiest of all these people to beat, for a whole host of reasons. I\u2019m not worried about this. I never have been worried about any of the critics suggesting that what I\u2019m doing is un-American, it\u2019s challenging the dignity of the American electoral system. It\u2019s all bunk. You know, the Democrats cannot stand getting a taste of their own medicine. And just to remind you people, one of the reasons for Operation Chaos was purely strategic, in addition to the results that we had hoped for, and that it is doubtless now we have achieved, one of the reasons was because our party will simply not do this. Our party is not going to engage the Democrats. Our party is not going to contrast themselves with the Democrats, and they\u2019re certainly not going to point out any of the ideological problems and weaknesses, the threat posed to the country by liberalism and the Democrat Party. Somebody gotta do it, and I\u2019m not doing it for the Republican Party, by the way, I\u2019m doing it because they\u2019re not, but I\u2019m doing it for you, I\u2019m doing it for the country. You know, I\u2019m an American first; I\u2019m a conservative second, and a Republican third.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Joe in Athens, Georgia, welcome to the EIB Network. Hello, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello, sir. I\u2019m a faithful follower of the Maha Rushie and a highly trained El Rushbo Gen Y listener, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Appreciate that, sir. Nice to have you here on the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you. I have a quick comment and question or OC, or Operation Chaos.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes?<\/p>\n

CALLER: The beauty is, even when Obama gets more votes than states, Hillary can point out that this is the reason why the delegates, she should get — you know, vote in the convention for, because it\u2019s illegitimate since the crossovers would be counted in the Democratic primaries and whatnot.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. No, no, no, no. She can\u2019t say that because she\u2019s benefiting from the crossovers.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. But that\u2019s what I mean, that\u2019s the beauty of it. It\u2019s going to keep it so close that that\u2019s going to be a reason why she can go.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. That\u2019s what Operation Chaos is.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely. My question is the pundits, the Fred Barnes\u2019s, Anderson Coopers and whatnot, you know, two or three months ago were touting your defeat and that you have no more influence.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Now it seems the topic is yours, the OC, Operation Chaos. So in your wisdom, do you think it\u2019s been you all along?<\/p>\n

RUSH: That happens two or three times every election cycle. All these people you mention would love for me to have no influence, but they know that I have it, and so there\u2019s nothing more they can do than try to make people think I\u2019ve lost it, but we always smack \u2019em down when they try.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
