CALLER: Mega Rush dittos from Minnesota, the land of 10,000 liberals.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much. My condolences for that, too.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughter) Look I wanted to share and air my frustration over an incident that happened here. I know it\u2019s not new to you, but I need it to be addressed and somehow corrected. An alumni from Forest Lake High School had requested his group called Veterans for Freedom to appear at his high school, his alumni, and he\u2019d already confirmed this with the principal, Steve Massey, a week prior. This group of young men from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was supposed to talk with 150 social studies students.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, you get the idea.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, I know the story.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, good.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The school said, ‘Nope.\u2019 Whoever, one school leader said, ‘Nah, this is not educational. This is going to be disruptive. There\u2019s no value here in having war vets coming to our school.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. This is so upsetting. My father-in-law is to get five medals tomorrow. He was a prisoner of war, and he served our country in World War II. Our US representative, Michele Bachmann, will be there to present him his medals that he had earned — and here\u2019s a man who didn\u2019t even know he received them or earned them, nor did he care. He just cared about serving his country. That\u2019s what bothers me so much.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s the American left. You ought to be bothered, but at the same time, this is who they are, and they\u2019re on display and they\u2019re demonstrating it. From Oakland, California to Minnesota, from coast to coast, all across the fruited plain, the left is showing us who they really are. But it\u2019s going to have to be exploited.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And tell us, how do you think this should happen?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, normally it would happen in the context of… The greatest vehicle in the world for it is right before our very eyes. It\u2019s called a presidential campaign. (gasp!) <\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: But we have a party who\u2019s not interested in exploiting the weaknesses of Democrats other than on, you know, traditional liberal ideology context like high tax, big spending liberals, that sort of stuff. But pointing this kind of thing out escapes them. If they notice it, they don\u2019t see any value in it or they don\u2019t have the guts for it. I don\u2019t know which. You know why you\u2019re frustrated?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Why?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Above and beyond the substance of the story, the real problem here that I think a lot of people are experiencing on our side of the aisle, Kate, where\u2019s the leadership? McCain\u2019s not. Nobody\u2019s out there leading a movement. Nobody\u2019s leading on our side. The Democrats are at least vying for that. I mean, they\u2019ve got two people that want to be leaders. They\u2019re both incompetent and unqualified, but one of them is going to end up being it, and that\u2019s what they want to do. They want to lead the country to a certain direction, and it\u2019s not a good one for us.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Ohhh.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So, you know, you\u2019re sitting up there, and you\u2019re in a bubble. Because all this happens, and the school does what it does, it gets a report in the news, but then it dies — other than when you hear it on programs like this and others.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you. Hey, as always, Rush, you are right. You need to go ahead and move up to 99%. Rush, we are so screwed. Operation Chaos is working too well. Real quickly, before I get to my point, the presidential primaries for Indiana here, which is in May, has never meant anything, but I\u2019m getting a little bit queasy. We have had three straight days of Clintons here and two more to come. Operation Chaos is working too well, but there\u2019s a very serious side effect. With all the press, America is being injected with a virus of liberalism. Here\u2019s my point.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that virus has been injected long ago, and it\u2019s continuing to fester out there. It\u2019s every day in Drive-By Media, whether the Clintons are in Indiana or not.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I\u2019ll tell you what, within this mosh pit of Dittoheads out here, I thought we were somewhat bulletproof, all right, but in your own audience, you had two callers that I know are affected. One was yesterday, one this so-called entrepreneur from Cleveland, and one from northeast Indiana were looking for handouts from you yesterday. The Cleveland caller wanted money for college tuition, the other looking for Operation Chaos gear. This is sickening. Rush, I mean you\u2019re so rich, why don\u2019t you just go ahead and pay off the national debt, finance universal health care, you know, I mean I\u2019m getting sick of it. I owe the government money. I\u2019m getting sick of — I\u2019m sitting right here looking at a Social Security office straight across street from where I work, and the parking lot is packed. I am getting so sick and tired of the government — <\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m not kidding you, I\u2019m getting sick and tired —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I can hear it. I know. I\u2019m trying to envision a packed parking lot at the office of the Social Security Administration. I mean, I love that picture. But you weren\u2019t the only one. Because I got a lot of e-mails from people mad at that guy yesterday who asked me to give him tuition for his three girls to go to college.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s sickening. I\u2019m getting tired of people looking for handouts. You know, if you can\u2019t afford health insurance, get a better job where you can afford health insurance. You know, hey, my daughter is graduating from college this May, I\u2019ve had to foot that bill. She\u2019s getting married at the end of May. All right? Is she going to have a big wedding? No, I can\u2019t afford it, but, you know what, live within your means. I got one credit card and that one credit card is used for emergencies in case I gotta fly somewhere, and you can\u2019t rent a car without one, and that\u2019s for no other reason, and people need to live within their means. You know, college is not a right, okay? It\u2019s a privilege. Everybody that thinks the government needs to pay for your college, needs pay for your health care, you know, this is America.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I hear you. I hear you. Look, this is what the battle is about. This is why so many of us are frustrated with the Republican Party right now. This whole circumstance is a sitting duck. The opportunity is just so golden here. To beat your opponent, you have to contrast yourself, speaking politically here. McCain is not doing that, he\u2019s trying to blur the lines, he\u2019s trying to be a more honorable liberal and moderate than they are, more integrity than they have. It\u2019s frustrating as all get out. Yeah, I was a little surprised by that guy yesterday starting out, ‘Rush, hey, I need some money from you, college education for my daughter.\u2019 I said, ‘Whoa.\u2019 I asked him how much he needed, he hadn\u2019t even thought about it. I said, ‘Well, what\u2019s it cost these days?\u2019 I was teetering on the verge of ripping into the guy, but I was just in too good a mood yesterday. I don\u2019t know. Plus, folks, I\u2019m a nice guy, and I felt the guy\u2019s pain and so forth, and I knew you\u2019d be mad anyway, so mission accomplished, regardless how I dealt with it. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
