RUSH: So I was sitting here today immersed in show prep, and when I\u2019m immersed in show prep, I\u2019m focused, and I don\u2019t hear distractions. I have to be distracted a second time in order to be shocked out of my focus. Snerdley walked in waving this piece of paper, and he\u2019s fuming! I said, “What is it?” So he handed me… He didn\u2019t say anything. Just kept fuming! And then walked out. And what it is: It\u2019s a column in the New York Times today, and it\u2019s by a leftist…<\/p>\n

\"\"You know, I really am beginning to think these people, whether they be columnists or reporters, journalists, whatever… I don\u2019t think they\u2019re very educated. It\u2019s not even a question of IQ. I just… I think they stopped learning so long ago, and their education has… Knowledge has been replaced by their political ideology and events that happen are only seen pushing or hurting the political agenda. And if an event hurts the political agenda, they ignore it or lie about it or recast it.<\/p>\n

If it, in their warped mind, advances their political agenda, then they run with it from the standpoint of the politics of it. And this is about Hurricane Michael. I have warned everybody that these people politicize everything, and, in the process, they end up corrupting everything. And so they\u2019ve got it in their heads that there\u2019s climate change happening out there, that man is causing it, primarily Americans, primarily American success, American progress, primary cause, and so that\u2019s it.<\/p>\n

Once they come to that belief, then everything that they think they need to push that agenda, to make people believe it, will be reported in that way. And so the headline to this Nicholas Kristof column: “The \u2018Greatest Hoax\u2019 Strikes Florida” and the subhead is, “Denying climate change doesn\u2019t stop its devastating effects — As Hurricane Michael rips through homes and communities, we send our sympathies to all those in its path, but let\u2019s also review what some leading Florida residents have said about climate change.”<\/p>\n

Not “about hurricanes” and not “about preparation,” and not “about warnings.” No, no, no! After the hurricane\u2019s gone through, let\u2019s review what some leading Florida residents have said about climate change. Quote: “‘One of the most preposterous hoaxes in the history of the planet,\u2019 scoffed Rush Limbaugh of Palm Beach.” Not “of the EIB Network,” not “right-wing radio talk show host supreme.” No! “Scoffed Rush Limbaugh of Palm Beach.”<\/p>\n

“Gov. Rick Scott\u2019s administration went so far as to bar some agencies from even using the term ‘climate change,\u2019 according to the Florida Center for Investigative Reporting,” and, of course, Scott denies this. It\u2019s absolutely absurd! It\u2019s only the Democrats that compel speech and limit speech. It\u2019s the Democrats that tell you how you have to talk and things you can\u2019t say. They\u2019re the ones that run around and say you can\u2019t call terrorism “terrorism,” and they\u2019re the ones that run around claiming that everything must be attached to climate change when it is a weather event.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Anyway, I said to Snerdley, don\u2019t get so upset by this. This is nothing. This is… I\u2019m actually flattered to be mentioned in the piece here. But Snerdley was mad because he doesn\u2019t know what to do when confronted with abject ignorance like this. How do you fight abject ignorance and prejudice and so forth? And you don\u2019t. You defeat it. You don\u2019t try to reason with it because it\u2019s impossible. You defeat it. I\u2019ve got a chart here. It doesn\u2019t go well on radio, but it demonstrates that since 1900…<\/p>\n

You can find, with all the charted hurricanes since 1900, you can find no significant trend in either the frequency or the intensity of major hurricanes striking Florida. There simply is no evidence that climate change, man-made, even exists, and there certainly is no evidence that it has anything to do with hurricanes, either the number of them or the intensity. But that doesn\u2019t matter \u2019cause the New York Times and the rest of the Drive-Bys are off and running \u2019cause they are hell-bent in getting people to realize…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>You say, “Why? What is the purpose?” Because this promotes Big Government. It promotes the notion of gigantic, autocratic, tyrannical government control over everything. Once you, the American citizen, are blamed and can be blamed for everything that\u2019s wrong, then you can be controlled to make sure that you start doing things right and don\u2019t keep doing things wrong. That\u2019s what they want. In the process, they don\u2019t even know what they\u2019re talking about.<\/p>\n

This guy doesn\u2019t know hurricanes from thunderstorms. He doesn\u2019t know cloud tops from cloud temperatures. It doesn\u2019t matter. I want to thank Mr. Snerdley for being so sensitive and so concerned about it, but I want to assure that you these kinds of things no longer bother me, other than the fact… I do get concerned that there\u2019s so much genuine ignorance existing now in positions that influence the thinking of other people. I mean, feminist studies at universities I firmly believe has destroyed the futures of way too many women.<\/p>\n

It has just distorted life. It\u2019s distorted gender differences. It has distorted the concept of happiness, victimology. It has distorted the whole concept of America, the greatest place to live and grow up and seek opportunity in the world. And feminism is just one of many elements of liberalism that is doing the same thing to its other constituency groups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
