RUSH: We go to Philadelphia. Carl, I\u2019m glad you called, sir. You are up next.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, Rush, Rush, Rush, Rush, Rush. This Operation Chaos that you have is really ridiculous, and it\u2019s stupid, and it\u2019s what we call in sports, ‘unsportsmanlike conduct.\u2019 Now, Rush, when the Democrats win the election — I\u2019m a Senator Obama supporter; I campaigned with him, when he wins the election — in November, you are going to be partially responsible. You and all these other idiot Republicans who decide to switch over. You are going to be 10% responsible for putting him in the White House, so the more you keep this up, the more it\u2019s putting us closer and closer to the White House. I appreciate you doing this.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I was going to say, Carl, you call up here and you start ripping me, saying that I\u2019m being a bad sport and it\u2019s ridiculous and it\u2019s stupid, unsportsmanlike — and now you say you hope I keep doing it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. I hope you keep doing it, because what you\u2019re doing is you\u2019re edging us closer and closer to the White House, because we all know —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me tell you something. If you want us to keep doing it, Carl, you don\u2019t call the people doing it idiots. You have just insulted the people doing this that are going to put you in the White House. You\u2019ve just called \u2019em idiots. You better take it back.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The Republicans that you have switching [sic] over… Look, if I\u2019m a Democrat. I\u2019m voting for my man. I ain\u2019t switching over. And so all these people that are switching over are, Rush, when Hillary or Barack is in the White House, we gonna call and thank y\u2019all, because y\u2019all are really helping the cause. You should stop this, Rush, really. This is really, really out of bounds. It is really, really stupid, and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re not making sense, Carl. I want you to know, you\u2019re not making sense. If this is going to help you, you should not be telling me to stop it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We don\u2019t really need for y\u2019all to do this because we can beat McCain.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I was going to ask you, how in the world is Operation Chaos going to guarantee the election of Obama?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Because people eventually are going to get tired of y\u2019all coming on the radio bashing Obama. You, Hannity, Beck, all you guys are bashing Obama. The American people — y\u2019all have already put disinformation out about Jeremiah Wright, and you\u2019re still pounding on him. What you shoulda done is let the people, let the people make that decision.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We are.<\/p>\n

CALLER: The American people are going to get tired of hearing this stuff over and over. There are other issues bigger to be talking about.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second. Wait a second. You\u2019re just telling me that you\u2019re really bugged by Jeremiah Wright, and you know it can hurt Obama?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I\u2019m not saying that. I\u2019m saying that the American people are going to get tired of y\u2019all talking about this.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You are attempting the usual intimidate-the-host tricks, but I\u2019ve seen all these tricks. You call here and you say, ‘Stop doing what you\u2019re doing. It\u2019s going to get us elected. Oh, really I want you to keep doing what you\u2019re doing because –‘<\/p>\n

CALLER: All I\u2019m saying is, Rush —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You call people idiots. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I know. I gotta go, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re all over the ballpark here. Jeremiah Wright is Jeremiah Wright. I didn\u2019t put the words in his mouth.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, I only got 30 seconds because I\u2019m out here campaigning. What\u2019s going to happen, Rush —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — the American people are gonna get tired of you and Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck. Ya\u2019ll keep bashing Obama because there\u2019s more issues to be talking about: the economy, oil. People want to talk about the gas crisis, SUV —<\/p>\n

RUSH: We haven\u2019t played any Jeremiah Wright sound bites since last week, but we\u2019re going to keep talking about Obama because Obama will wreck the economy, Carl, and so will Hillary Clinton. Any liberal Democrat who has a liberal Democrat Congress will be in position to wreck the economy. That\u2019s serious stuff. I don\u2019t want that to happen.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, I wish you would stop the Operation Chaos. It\u2019s ridiculous.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re confusing me.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Please stop the Operation Chaos. Please stop and talk about the economy. Talk about why I have to put $70 in my SUV every three days. Talk about other issues, because other issues are more important to the American people. This Jeremiah Wright and all the other people —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hey.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — talking about Operation Chaos is not (unintelligible). People are eventually going to get tired of you and Hannity and Glenn Beck and all you guys bashing Obama.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You are a testament, Carl, to the effectiveness of Operation Chaos, and I can\u2019t thank you enough.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Watch what I tell you, Rush. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you\u2019re telling me how it\u2019s working by asking me to stop it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, in about two weeks, people are going to get tired of y\u2019all bashing Obama. Obama came up with a great speech, most eloquent speech in US history. He clarified and he defended everything that y\u2019all have been talking about —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Carl?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — y\u2019all are still bashing him — <\/p>\n

RUSH: Carl?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — I mean, y\u2019all did y\u2019all\u2019s job, y\u2019all —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Carl.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — put the information out there. Let the American people — <\/p>\n

RUSH: Carl?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — make their decision.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The criticism of Obama hasn\u2019t even really begun. Wait \u2019til he gets the nomination and the presidential campaign, the actual general election unfolds and the criticism of Obama starts. This is nothing compared to what\u2019s ahead, and the same thing is headed for Senator McCain. It\u2019s the nature of our politics. Now you\u2019re putting all this gasoline money in your SUV. I want you to think about something: gasoline prices did not start skyrocketing until Democrats took over the Congress in November of 2006.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Thanks. I just wanted to make a quick comment. I think Carl from Philadelphia must be affected by global warming, but if I were a betting man — which I know it\u2019s illegal so I\u2019m not — that sure sounded like Charles Barkley to me.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, you\u2019re the third or fourth person that I had mention that to me. I checked some e-mails, ‘That Carl sounded just like Charles Barkley.\u2019 Barkley would use his real name if he called here. I know he probably did sound like Barkley, but he would use his real name.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know. You never know what happens with global warming. You were just reading the Stack. I have a feeling it was him.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) By the way, you reminded me of something here, Tom, and I appreciate it.
