This was on the Tavis Smiley show on PBS Monday night. Smiley said, &#8216;Your candidate, John Edwards, now out of the race. So what do you do now?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>SARANDON: I\u2019m going to back Obama, but I hope &#8212; I think that he as a symbol has really excited people, and he\u2019s definitely confusing to everyone who really hates America for hating, you know, Muslims, because a name like Obama and a black, they\u2019re probably going to go, &#8216;Oh, wait a minute, what?\u2019 It\u2019s kind of like, you know, when you\u2019re out on the line for, you know, freedom to have an abortion, and you\u2019re incredibly pregnant, they just can\u2019t quite figure out &#8212; so I think he definitely has convinced people that he stands for change and for hope, and I &#8212; I &#8212; you know, I can\u2019t wait to see what he stands for.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Did you hear that? May I repeat this? She said, &#8216;He definitely has convinced people he stands for change and stands for hope, I can\u2019t wait to see what he stands for.\u2019 She doesn\u2019t even know! And she\u2019s for him! She doesn\u2019t even know what he\u2019s for other than change and hope, and she\u2019s for him. I think she\u2019s probably been listening to the Obama commercials on my program. <\/p>\n<p>(playing of Obama spoof) <\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: All right. I have a little sound bite here. I\u2019m very, very, very uncomfortable playing this sound bite, but it must be done, ladies and gentlemen, Stevie the Boy Wonder, a black cat, by the way, could cross my path any time. I love Stevie the Boy Wonder\u2019s music. I just&#8230; (interruption) It is. The Songs in The Key of Life album, which is why it\u2019s so difficult to play this sound bite. This is last night at the NAALCP Image Awards. That\u2019s the National Association for the Advancement of (Liberal) Colored People. Stevie the Boy Wonder was awarded the Hall of Fame award at the NAALCP Image Awards, and this is a portion of his acceptance speech.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/01125115.Par.89380.ImageFile.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"277\" class=\"alignright\"\/>WONDER: There\u2019s a man named Barack Obama (applause) who shows you that there is no reason for you to have to be a gang member or do drugs or whatever that is (applause), and there\u2019s a woman named Hillary Clinton, who clearly should say to every single woman: &#8216;There\u2019s no need for abuse by any man to any woman in the world, and you can &#8212; you don\u2019t have to accept that.\u2019 I say to all of you, without question: It is time for change, and we can not only change history, but we can help to determine everyone\u2019s destiny to the good. I say to all of you, &#8216;Yes, we most definitely can.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Oh, no. This is painful! This is painful. In the first place, you can\u2019t change &#8216;history,\u2019 because history is what was. It has been. What has been has been. What is, is is. What hasn\u2019t been, hasn\u2019t been. History is so yesterday anyway. Mrs. Clinton&#8230; (interruption) I\u2019m not going to touch the Obama business on the drugs business. I\u2019m not going to touch that, but Hillary Clinton says to &#8216;every single woman there is no need for abuse by any man or any woman in the world, and you don\u2019t have to accept it\u2019? Clearly&#8230; Maybe I\u2019m wrong. Mr. Krehley, you\u2019re a good objective guy. You\u2019re a broadcast engineer. Would you say in terms of abuse that Mrs. Clinton has accepted it or not accepted it? (interruption) She\u2019s accepted it. Yes, absolutely. I mean, if Hillary Clinton has demonstrated anything, it is be abused and exact a price for it. She has totally accepted it. She\u2019s marketed it. She has used it. Mr. Wonder&#8230; Ugh, I hate doing this. I just hate this. I hate people being wrong. I want to help \u2019em. She\u2019s the most cheated on woman in the world, and she knew it for how many years! Twenty-five? <\/p>\n<p>Even today, Mr. Wonder, people joke about who President Clinton is &#8216;dating\u2019 while he\u2019s married to her. Even today, Mr. Wonder, reporters ask Mrs. Clinton how she will deal with further scandals involving her husband. That is a past that continues to exist in the right now and will exist in the future. It will not change. And she knows it and is accepting it. And Chris Matthews (before threatened with being kneecapped) said that\u2019s the reason she\u2019s a candidate, because she was cheated on by her husband. Jeez oh man! This has been painful. This has been painful. Look, I was a struggling young disc jockey back in the early days of my what was to become sterling broadcast career playing Stevie Wonder tunes. Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I\u2019m Yours. Suspicion. (sigh) This wounds me to the heart, to have to do this. But, see? I don\u2019t shy away from the tough stuff. I could have seen this sound bite and said, &#8216;Cookie, don\u2019t tell anybody you gave it to me.
