RUSH: Morgan in Apple Valley, California, I\u2019m glad you waited. Nice to have you on the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. I do not think that Obama\u2019s rhetoric is empty. I am of the opinion that he is skillfully using soaring rhetoric to make desire a fact; desire becomes policy position. I don\u2019t hear people say, ‘I agree with his policies and positions.\u2019 I hear, ‘I believe in Obama.\u2019<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And rather than write his rhetoric off as empty, I would like to see someone do a thesis-level analysis of Obama\u2019s rhetoric from a historical perspective. Obama\u2019s rhetoric frightens me. I see it as an abusive exploitation of the human religious sentiment in the service of progressivism, political religion, and you have stated before that progressivism, liberalism is a religion, and I believe that Obama is just their newest priest.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I agree with you a hundred percent on that, it\u2019s very well said. When I say he\u2019s saying nothing, I don\u2019t mean to be insulting here. You made the point a different way. People are not saying, ‘I agree with Obama,\u2019 because they don\u2019t know what he\u2019s saying. If you ask, ‘Obama, what\u2019s he for?\u2019 They\u2019ll say it doesn\u2019t matter, and they won\u2019t be able to tell you what he\u2019s for. They\u2019ll be able to give you platitudes, ‘Well, he\u2019s for America. Well, he\u2019s for fairness. Well, he\u2019s for justice.\u2019<\/p>\n

CALLER: His soaring rhetoric will bring them to him and once he has them, he will be able to lead them where he wishes them to go. This has a historical precedent.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What are we going to be able to do about it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Expose it! Analyze it! Lay it side by side with historical precedents.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, but do you think the Democrats are going to listen to me on this?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. No Democrat ever listens to you. <\/p>\n

RUSH: No, they listen, but they\u2019re not — <\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush, Democrats won\u2019t! Sane people will!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, but the point is, he\u2019s going to get Democrat votes. The Democrats do listen, but they\u2019re inclined to do the exact opposite of what I say. If I really wanted to torpedo McCain, I would endorse him because that would send the independents and liberals that are going to vote for him running away faster than anything. What people don\u2019t realize is, I\u2019m doing McCain the biggest favor that could be done for him by staying out of this. If I endorsed him thoroughly, with passion, that would end the independents and moderates, because they so despise me and they so hate me. For example, where did I see this? Oh. Some guy, a columnist in the New York Post, talked to — do you know what Tina Fey is?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Not really.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, Tina Fey used to be one of the writers at Saturday Night Live and she did the Weekend Update news. She now is the creator\/producer\/writer of the NBC comedy show 30 Rock. This guy in the New York Post yesterday was quoting her saying, ‘Yeah, I\u2019m telling everybody I\u2019m voting Obama, but I\u2019m really voting McCain.\u2019 Now, she\u2019s telling people she\u2019s voting Obama because with the liberals that\u2019s going to make her sound good, look good, voting for the black guy, but she says she\u2019s secretly going to vote for McCain. Now, if I really wanted to torpedo McCain, I would endorse him because if I do, and if I become the biggest champion and supporter of John McCain there is in this country, the Tina Feys of the world are going to punt. They\u2019re going to think, ‘Wait a minute, what\u2019s happened here? What did McCain do to get Limbaugh\u2019s endorsement?\u2019 That\u2019s the way Democrats listen to me is my point.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Logical insane people listen to you, and there are enough logical insane Democrats that will hopefully wake up and understand that Obama\u2019s rhetoric has a historical precedent —<\/p>\n

RUSH: They don\u2019t care about anything but winning. Like I said earlier, the fact that he says nothing while saying it well, that\u2019s half of why they like him. They\u2019re so sick and tired of a president they don\u2019t think can put two sentences together in a way that makes sense. I can\u2019t tell you the number of liberal Democrats I\u2019ve run into, and their sole reason for hating Bush is they don\u2019t think he can talk. And they think he\u2019s stupid, which of course he isn\u2019t. But they think he is because of the way he speaks publicly. So here you\u2019ve got Obama, regardless what he\u2019s saying, he speaks much better in public than Hillary does. He speaks much better in public than even old Bill did.<\/p>\n

CALLER: We know who Hillary is. We know where she\u2019s been. We know what we stand for. Obama is impossible to pin down. And that\u2019s scary.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019m not intimidated by that. When the time comes, all you\u2019re going to need to know about Obama is, he\u2019s a liberal. And then you just need to define what liberals are going to do to the country, and I\u2019ll incorporate your well-reasoned thoughts. In fact, you know what you\u2019re really saying is, if there are any mind-numbed robots out there, they are Obama supporters.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They don\u2019t care what he\u2019s saying. They don\u2019t care whether it makes sense or not. <\/p>\n

CALLER: He\u2019s like the pied piper —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Exactly. Exactly what I\u2019m accused of being is what Obama is.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But his sweet tune has got to be analyzed.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you think, Morgan, he\u2019s seriously going to win the Democrat nomination?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know from here. I really don\u2019t know. But he might. <\/p>\n

RUSH: He may win it, but he\u2019s not going to be the nominee.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Interesting.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. It\u2019s the Clintons we\u2019re talking about here, Morgan, the Clintons.<\/p>\n

CALLER: May I make a personal note? You inspire me —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — because of your ability to have overcome what you have been through and get on with your life, and I listen to you mostly for that reason.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you very much. I sincerely appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You inspire me.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much, Morgan. I appreciate it. By the way, Morgan, one of my all-time, top-ten female names. <\/p>\n
