RUSH: I want to go back to September 20th for this sound bite.<\/a> It will be followed up with one from Professor Dershowitz talking about the investigation and once again my characterization of just how serious the establishment is to get the Trumpster.<\/p>\n

RUSH ARCHIVE: It\u2019s an effort to destroy Trump and his business, to wipe him out and anybody associated with him, as the biggest lesson outsiders could be taught: Don\u2019t try this again. This predawn raid picking the lock of Manafort\u2019s house and now Manafort, “Release what you found. I got nothing to hide. I didn\u2019t do anything.” I don\u2019t doubt for a minute, whatever this is, I know it\u2019s an effort to destroy Trump, but I don\u2019t mean just destroy him reputationally. They are going to try to wipe him out, folks. That\u2019s what this all is. And everybody associated with him.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So, you see, that was — I thought that back in 2017<\/a>, almost a year ago. And then when I learned about all of these cases being passed off to the New York SDNY and the Manhattan DA, and they got immunity granted to the Trump Organization CFO. So here\u2019s Professor Dershowitz this morning on Fox & Friends. And the question: “If I\u2019m an independent businessman who has ever thought about running, I\u2019m not gonna do it. I\u2019m not gonna run, because, as you said, they can look through all your things. They can find something on anybody. Why would anybody do this, Professor?”<\/p>\n

DERSHOWITZ: The biggest crime you can commit in America today is to have been associated with Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

DUFFY: (giggling)<\/p>\n

DERSHOWITZ: If you\u2019re associated with Donald Trump, they\u2019re gonna Manafort you. They\u2019re gonna Cohen you. They\u2019re gonna do all of these things to you, and they\u2019re gonna look hard and they\u2019re gonna search and they\u2019re gonna stretch. The only people who are gonna run for office now are gonna be independently wealthy people who don\u2019t have to rely on their businesses or people who come from backgrounds where there is no vulnerability at all. All businessman are gonna be deterred from running for office because they know it\u2019s gonna result in a kind of legal colonoscopy. It\u2019s the Al Capone approach. “If we can\u2019t get him on the grounds that we\u2019d really like to get him on let\u2019s go after him on taxes. Let\u2019s go after him on business.” It\u2019s targeting people, and if they can target President Trump, they can target you. They can target anyone.<\/p>\n
