RUSH: So let me just tell you what the details are. I said that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was visiting a business her policies have destroyed. She visited a restaurant that she used to work at in New York City on Monday on its final day in business.<\/p>\n

It closed because of mandatory minimum wage increases. Ocasio-Cortez former employer, the coffee shop in Union Square shut down after a 28-year run due to high rent and an ever increasing minimum wage that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez strongly supports. (imitating Cortez) “I went to the restaurant I used to work. It\u2019s closing its doors. It\u2019s so sad, so sad.” Just a blithering, just… See? How do you not notice this?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Glad to have you. You\u2019re a lifer.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. Here\u2019s why I\u2019m calling. Okay, for all the Democrats who are so anxious to get to the polls in November —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

\"\"CALLER: — I want them to remember one thing. The three million jobs that have been created since Trump took over, there\u2019s a lot of Democrats that got hired. And just to break it down simply \u2019cause I don\u2019t know if there\u2019s a Democrat who ever paid attention in a economics class, let\u2019s say you have a mortgage for 900 bucks a month, you bought in for $900. And you get your first statement, and all of a sudden the bank says you owe $1,200 a month. Well, you\u2019ve got a choice. You can either move out or you\u2019re gonna have to cut somewhere else in your household budget to cover that 300 bucks.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. So to you Democrats who don\u2019t understand this, okay, you got this Ocasio babe going out and saying, “Hey, we just want to raise the corporate tax to 28%.” Well, think about that. That\u2019s a 33% increase over 21%. Now, these companies have all bought in to 21%. They gave people bonuses, they\u2019ve —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019ve already lost 80% of Democrats because 52% of them are getting a government check and none of it matters.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. But, anyway, my point is this. These companies have bought in. Now, if the Democrats get in and they want to change the taxes, okay, get it to 28%, they gotta go back to the drawing board. And they\u2019re gonna have to make cuts. And I can tell you the first place they go is labor. I live about 12 miles away from one of the steel plants that just got reopened since Mr. Trump took over.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hm-hm.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My son did a very nice article about this plant. And I will tell you, those steelworkers down there who were Democrats, they love Mr. Trump. Because they told my son that he was the first president who did anything for \u2019em in 40 years.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, now, wait this is a good point. You remind me of something. Salena Zito, who lives in Pittsburgh, and has written a book about people like your son and others in Pennsylvania and Ohio and some of these other so-called Rust Belt states in the Northeast and the upper Midwest, she is in contact with \u2019em constantly, she stays in touch with people that she interviewed during the campaign, and she says there\u2019s not a one of them that\u2019s gonna leave Trump over any of this investigation stuff, none of it, because of the very thing you just said.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But the question is, how many of \u2019em are gonna vote again in 2018? How many of \u2019em are gonna be aware that they have to show up again, because even though Trump isn\u2019t on the ballot, people that are gonna enable him to remain capable of continuing are gonna be on the ballot, how many of \u2019em are gonna — we don\u2019t know this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, here\u2019s the thing and here\u2019s the way I look at it. Okay. You know these steelworkers, what lever they\u2019re gonna pull. But I\u2019m gonna appeal to older Democrats — grandfathers, grandmothers who have been lifelong Democrats who know, okay, this is not the party you grew up in. And I\u2019m gonna bet that they\u2019re gonna say, “Hey, listen. This guy, okay. Yeah, he\u2019s got his faults.” But I gotta tell you something, this economy is good for my son, it\u2019s good for my grandchildren, it\u2019s good for my daughter and her children —<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>RUSH: I don\u2019t mean to interrupt here, but I don\u2019t disagree with this. If Trump were on the ballot, he\u2019d get reelected. I don\u2019t think the Democrats can beat Trump. But the Democrats are not looking it as though they have to. Trump isn\u2019t on the ballot. I had Trump on the program about 22 days ago. And he told me that he\u2019s not sure that support for him is going to transfer to votes in the midterm elections<\/a>. Meaning he doesn\u2019t know if he\u2019s gonna have coattails in the midterms.<\/p>\n

Then there are theories being bandied about that Trump actually doesn\u2019t care, that if the Democrats win, that it\u2019s only gonna help him get reelected in 2020 because people are gonna see, you know, what a mess the Democrats are gonna make of things. They\u2019ll try to stop Trump and anything he\u2019s doing that makes America great or better, and then they\u2019ll do nothing but subpoena everybody and start investigating everybody and everything in the Trump administration, committee after committee after committee.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t believe that that\u2019s what anybody actually wants to happen, but some are telling us that\u2019s Trump objective, that will help him actually win reelection in 2020. We\u2019ll just have to see. I don\u2019t doubt that people like your son and others who voted for Trump in 2016 would vote for him again.<\/p>\n

The Drive-Bys want us to believe that the numbers are dwindling, that some people who voted for Trump are just fed up, like the guy that called us from Stuart, Florida, are just fed up \u2019cause he keeps nitpicking with people he ought to be ignoring, he keeps tweeting when he ought not, and he just ought to shut up! You know, just stop being bugged by every little thing.<\/p>\n

The Drive-Bys want us to believe there are a lot of Trump voters that are still gonna vote for him, but they\u2019re geting fed up and so forth. Salena Zito says that is not happening. But the midterms, to me, are, you know, everybody says the next election is the most important in our lives. You know, I\u2019m past saying that, \u2019cause you could say it about any number of elections. Just telling you what the alternatives are.<\/p>\n

If the Democrats win the House, you know, Pelosi\u2019s running around trying to quiet everybody down from talking impeachment. But, folks, don\u2019t be fooled. That\u2019s what all this is about. It\u2019s all about impeaching Trump. It\u2019s all about using every tool they have to get rid of him. Impeaching him, even if they don\u2019t get the votes to convict him in the Senate, they still want him impeached for no other reason than make up for the fact that Clinton was. There\u2019s still a bunch of Democrats bugged by that. They want Trump impeached just because the Republicans impeached Clinton.<\/p>\n

But mostly it\u2019s about getting rid of him. Mostly it\u2019s about destroying Trump\u2019s public support. So after the elections, if the Democrats win the House in 2018, every day is going to be like Watergate. It\u2019s gonna be nothing but investigations. Once the new Democrat House is sworn in in January of 2019, it\u2019s gonna be every committee that they have is gonna be investigating some aspect of the Trump administration and Trump cabinet officials and Trump White House staff. They\u2019re gonna be subpoenaing people left and right.<\/p>\n

\"\"You\u2019re gonna have battles between the executive branch and legislative branch for oversight. They\u2019re gonna do everything they can to shut down the Trump administration. They\u2019re gonna do everything they can every day to criminalize every aspect of Trump\u2019s political life. Every policy, every statement is going to be treated as a crime, and they\u2019re going to be investigating Trump and his staff and his cabinet on that basis. That\u2019s all it\u2019s gonna be. And the media is gonna be carrying all of it 24\/7 with glee and happiness. It\u2019s all you\u2019re gonna see. They can\u2019t wait.<\/p>\n

Somebody has to pay for beating Hillary Clinton. Somebody has to pay for taking what they just knew was a guaranteed Democrat victory in 2016. Somebody has to pay, and not just Trump. I mean, a lot of people are gonna pay for it, \u2019cause this is never gonna be allowed to happen again. Anyway, that\u2019s the future, if the Democrats win. And impeachment\u2019s just a part of that. Basically rolling up the government and essentially shutting it down except for the things Democrats want money spend on.<\/p>\n
