RUSH: Yesterday when we had the split in the Democrat Party between the Kennedy factions endorsing Obama and Hillary left wandering, it was like the Hatfields and the McCoys, Democrat dynasties clash as Obama claims JFK\u2019s mantle. It was especially fitting as an analogy, as a comparison, because in the Democrat Party what\u2019s going on right now is an Uncivil War, and it\u2019s all based on race. This party is at war with itself over race, and of course the Hatfields and McCoys, their little rivalry started in the Civil War. The Hatfield-McCoy feud, 1878 to 1891 is an account of American lore that has become a metaphor for bitterly feuding rival parties in general. It involved two warring families of the West Virginia-Kentucky backcountry along the Tug Fork River off the Big Sandy River. So the Hatfields and McCoys, that\u2019s a great way to analogize what\u2019s going on with the Democrats today. <\/p>\n

Let\u2019s go to the audio sound bites. Last night on PBS, the Tavis Smiley show — by the way, this is a See, I Told You So. Yesterday I mentioned that Hillary\u2019s firewall is going to go out and get the Hispanic votes, and she\u2019s going to play the race card again, she\u2019s going to say, ‘Look, you Hispanics, you need to vote for me, because look what happened in South Carolina, all those blacks are hanging in together for Obama.\u2019 So apparently Obama is going to use Ted Kennedy, Mr. Amnesty, to go after Hispanic voters that Hillary is targeting next in the Democrat Uncivil War. Tavis Smiley says to Senator Kennedy, ‘Look, the argument that Hillary Clinton\u2019s been making, experience, Barack Obama not much, not even a full term as Senator, so how did you rank and how did you rate experience in making your choice?\u2019<\/p>\n

KENNEDY: Well, I think he has the experience and the judgment. For example, and I\u2019ve worked with him on the floor of the United States Senate on the immigration reform. Barack Obama was there trying to hammer out a responsible immigration bill that would deal with the challenges that we face, but also would have the kind of respect for the Hispanic community that I think that we needed.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. So exactly what I said yesterday, exactly what I said, Hillary is going to go and use the firewall of the Hispanic vote and so Senator Kennedy is now going to go out and combat Mrs. Clinton for Obama on the Hispanic vote. By the way, let\u2019s go to sound bite 12. This is Al Sharpton telling Bill Clinton it\u2019s time to shut up. This is on The View yesterday, the cohost Sherri Shepherd said, ‘We\u2019re hearing so much about race from Hillary and Bill Clinton and Obama,\u2019 and then she adds this.<\/p>\n

SHEPHERD: Do you think race is going to play an important part in this election?<\/p>\n

SHARPTON: The question is, is race, in terms of solutions, going to play a part. I think that we are hearing race charges, race-tinged rhetoric. No one knows how you\u2019re going to close the race gap in employment, the race gap in health care. And, you know, I\u2019ve agreed and disagreed when President Clinton was president. I think that it\u2019s time for him to just be quiet. I think it\u2019s time for him to stop, as one of the most outspoken people in America, there\u2019s a time to shut up. And I think that time has come.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughter) You have to love this. It ain\u2019t going to mean anything at the end of the day, but you still have to love this, to see this happening. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
