RUSH: On this subject of banning websites and individuals from Twitter and Facebook<\/a>. Take a look at who\u2019s behind it, who\u2019s urging this. You know, this is something that doesn\u2019t often get mentioned. What we hear is that somebody somewhere has decided, in a fit of morality and justice, that certain sites are dangerous and must be limited in their distribution capabilities. And our social media companies must not participate in the wide distribution of such hate-filled, dangerous rhetoric.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Who is urging this to happen? That is to me as much of the story as the actual banning or limiting or what have you. And if you take a look at who\u2019s suggesting this, it\u2019s elected officials, Democrats in the House, Democrats in the Senate, and if you listen closely, you\u2019ll hear people on CNN suggest that some of these sites should be banned from social media.<\/p>\n

And what it boils down to is something that\u2019s really quite simple. They want you to believe that all of this controversy needs to be banned because it\u2019s damaging to our values. I always chuckle at listening to Democrats talking about values. In fact, you know what Rahm Emanuel in Chicago, the mayor, is now saying the big problem there is lack of values? Lack of values.<\/p>\n

Whenever the Republicans have talked about values, what have the Democrats done? They\u2019ve pooh-poohed it. They\u2019ve laughed at it. They\u2019ve mocked it. And they\u2019ve claimed that Republicans are just a bunch of people that don\u2019t want anybody to have any fun!<\/p>\n

Now here\u2019s Rahm Emanuel claiming one of the problems in Chicago with gun violence and mass murder is lack of values? I thought Obama talked about our values all the time. “This is not who we are. This is not our values.” Of course, his values are quite skewed compared to mainstream America. But, you know, really what all this is is just a bunch of people who don\u2019t want to be criticized. It\u2019s a bunch of people who don\u2019t want to be held accountable.<\/p>\n

CNN doesn\u2019t want to be criticized by certain websites or people so they urge Facebook and Twitter so ban them. And then when Facebook and Twitter do ban them, here comes CNN applauding it. And then here come official elected Democrats, “It\u2019s just the tip of the iceberg. This doesn\u2019t even get us close to where we need to be.” And who is it that doesn\u2019t want critics to have a voice? Well, they\u2019re certainly not people that believe in the First Amendment, and they\u2019re certainly not people who are fearless.<\/p>\n

You go through history, folks — it\u2019s all I\u2019m asking you to do — you start reviewing history, go through history and look at the people who have sought to silence their critics, and you\u2019ll find a specific type of leader. And it\u2019s not a leader that believes in constitutional republics or elected democracies in any shape, manner, or form. And that\u2019s who the Democrat Party today is becoming. They are transforming into — you know, people call it fascist. They\u2019re not fascist. This is more Stalinist, the way the social justice warriors and the snowflakes on campus are behaving and the people in Philadelphia attacking Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens, which we\u2019ll get to here in just a moment.<\/p>\n

But Breitbart has a story: “Left-Wing Journalists, Pundits Celebrate After Tech Giants Censor Websites.<\/a>” That\u2019s right. They\u2019re celebrating their critics, they\u2019re celebrating the cancellation and the smearing and the silencing of their critics! They can\u2019t take it. They just can\u2019t take it. They can dish it, but they can\u2019t take it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Proving my point. CNN International just tweeted the following: “Apple and Google Are Still Selling the Infowars App Which Contains Some of the Same Type of Content That They Just Delisted<\/a>.” See, it\u2019s not enough. Now, I have read today that the decision-making at Apple on this was Tim Cook, the CEO, and Eddy Cue — who is the senior vice president in charge of internet services and design and so forth. What Apple did… You know, our podcasts are listed on Apple. Apple has nothing to do with it. They just provide a spot where people can go get it.<\/p>\n

When Apple decides to delist a podcast or site from their podcast list, they\u2019re just saying that you can\u2019t find it coming here. They\u2019re not really banning it. They\u2019re banning it from Apple but they\u2019re just saying, “We\u2019re not gonna be part of the distribution.” But Apple really doesn\u2019t have anything to do with all the podcasts that it hosts. It just provides a way for people to access it. You can get our podcast by going to iTunes or you can get it by going to RushLimbaugh.com<\/a>, and the stories that I\u2019ve read today said that Tim Cook and Eddy Cue specifically…<\/p>\n

They had a meeting about this Sunday, and they said the app doesn\u2019t violate any of their rules. The app does not violate any of their regulations on what an app can or can\u2019t do on an Apple device, an iPhone, an iPod, or an iPad, and people are… I mean, some leftists are livid about it. “What do you mean! You ban their podcast but you leave their app up?” They said, “Look, the app doesn\u2019t violate any of the guidelines we\u2019ve set forth,” which means…<\/p>\n

Well, it means what it means. My point is there are people still not satisfied, still not happy. They want even more, and it\u2019s other media. It\u2019s other media, and it\u2019s other… It\u2019s elected Democrats that are demanding the censorship, and it\u2019s other Democrats and the media demanding that their critics\u2019 voices being silenced. There is a specific type of government and thinking where that happens.
