CALLER: Hi, Rush. Yesterday you mentioned about opponents such as Obama going against the Clinton machine.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And it occurred to me that the Chicago machine is also very formidable. I was always under the impression that they were the ones responsible for getting JFK into the White House.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, that and West Virginia. Don\u2019t forget the West Virginia machine when it comes to JFK. Nobody talks about that because of the Daley machine in Chicago, but West Virginia waited \u2019til the last minute, too. They had a little bit of a surprise for people where JFK was concerned. But you are right. The Daley machine in Chicago… you know, Obama\u2019s not this innocent little wallflower that\u2019s floated into politics here and is being assaulted by the Democrat establishment. He\u2019s got his own machine, and he\u2019s played some dirty pool to get where he is. He\u2019s destroyed some people to get where he\u2019s gotten, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. I think it was Ryan, the congressman, who pretty much had that Senate seat before some kind of —<\/p>\n

RUSH: It wasn\u2019t just Ryan. <\/p>\n

CALLER: — dirty stuff was pulled on him.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There was some woman, I\u2019m drawing a mental block. When he ran for the state senate, there was some woman he ran all over to get her seat. I forget the details of it — and, of course, nobody said, ‘How on earth would he do what he did to this poor woman?\u2019 Nobody said that. Well, somebody might have said it, but it didn\u2019t have any impact. Yeah, it was this Ryan guy, whose divorce files were secret.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There were some sort of rumors and stories about, you know, crazy, wild sex life, kids involved, this sort of thing, and Ryan tried to keep the file secret and the judge made him release it, and that launched Obama. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It was a scandal, not ‘brilliant ideas,\u2019 not ‘great policy.\u2019 He\u2019s got his own land deal scandal, too, that ABC News is finally going to start looking into. So he\u2019s not one of these clean and pure as the wind-driven snow newcomers that doesn\u2019t have any baggage — and, you know, Clinton, Inc., will find it, at the right time. Are you still there?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. (chuckles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Your theory is that the Chicago machine will have some surprises for Clinton, Inc.?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Well, it\u2019s going to be fun. (laughs) <\/p>\n

CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m sure the Clinton machine thinks that they own the Chicago machine. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: The woman\u2019s name in Illinois that Obama dispatched was Alice Palmer, and when he defeated Alice Palmer in the state senate in Illinois, it won Obama instant attention and alliance with the longtime president of the Senate, Emil Jones. So he\u2019s got a lot of experience taking out female senators — and it was brutal. As I say, he\u2019s not this wallflower that\u2019s waltzing in here. Nobody that gets elected to the United States Senate is an outsider, and they\u2019re not these clean-and-pure-as-the-wind-driven-snow people that are uncorrupted by any of this. This is big business. Like any other business, you ride to the top in a certain way. It is rare that the milkman would be elected to the United States Senate or that the local mechanic would be elected your congressman. It can happen in the House of Representatives a little bit easier than it can, for example, in the Senate, but Obama\u2019s not some waif walking in with pure innocence here ready to clean up the so-called mess. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, this is going to come as quite a shock to many of you, particularly those of you on the Democrat side, and particularly many of you independents who have an impression of Barack Obama that is false. That impression is largely that he is clean and pure as the wind-driven snow. He\u2019s new. He\u2019s an outsider. He\u2019s lofty, messianic, untainted by scandal; not into any of this for himself. He cares nothing about power. He wants only what\u2019s good for America — and, of course, he intends to end the tyranny of oil. But how did Obama come on scene, ladies and gentlemen? (interruption) No, hope had nothing to do with it. No. It wasn\u2019t ‘hope,\u2019 and it wasn\u2019t ‘change.\u2019 It wasn\u2019t anything as ethereal as that. It was good old-fashioned, brass knuckle politics. ‘Obama had returned to Chicago…\u2019 and this, by the way, Kyle-Anne Shiver in the AmericanThinker.com. ‘Obama had returned to Chicago and practiced civil rights law for 3 years, when he spied an opportunity to run for the state senate. A longtime, widely revered matron of the civil rights movement named Alice Palmer had held the seat for a number of years, but she announced that she wanted to run for Congress. So, Obama seized the opportunity and proclaimed his intention to run for Alice\u2019s open seat.\u2019 <\/p>\n

So far, so fine. ‘Well, Alice lost the congressional race and decided that she wanted to hang onto that hard-won state senate seat. Most of the community leaders tried to persuade Obama to withdraw and wait his turn; he was a newcomer after all,\u2019 and she was a matron and an icon of the civil rights movement; widely revered. ‘Instead Obama performed his first real act of political jujitsu. He sent his aides to the courthouse to carefully examine all of Alice Palmer\u2019s signatures to see if enough could be disallowed to knock her off the ballot altogether. And indeed, some of Alice\u2019s signatures were fake. The aides also found enough other fake signatures on opponents\u2019 ballot initiatives to knock them off the ballot as well. By the time Barack Obama walked handily into his state senate seat, everyone there knew him as ‘the man who knocked off Alice Palmer.\u2019 Quite a feat indeed for the newcomer, the young whippersnapper with the odd name,\u2019 who practices hope. Now… (interruption) Well, it wasn\u2019t… (interruption) I don\u2019t think it\u2019s disenfranchisement. Why do you think it\u2019s disenfranchisement? Because it\u2019s black voters now they whose signatures were invalidated? The point is… (interruption) Here\u2019s the point of the matter. You might be out there saying, ‘Rush, the woman had a bunch of fake signatures! She shouldn\u2019t have been qualified.\u2019 Ah, yes, but this is the Democrat Party. Fake this and fake that is common. You had here a young upstart who wanted to get rid of an icon, wanted to get rid of a civil rights icon. He dispatched a bunch of goons to dig up whatever they could find to disqualify her. <\/p>\n

My only point here is, this is a guy well steeped in politics as usual. He is not some angelic figure that has come floating from the heavens on two wings, with ‘hope\u2019 and revival and renewal and repair and all of that. Now, another thing that you might want to consider about this, we\u2019re talking Chicago, talking Illinois. As we all know, the dead can vote there a number of times, and have been known to do so. So, this is Illinois. This is Chicago. Who are we outsiders to question signatures? Somebody alive had to sign those documents. One thing: The dead people can vote, but they can\u2019t sign. This we know. So the bottom line is, here goes Obama, and he got where he is through good old-fashioned dirty politics, as usual, and this is probably going to stun a number of people. Speaking of civil rights, have you heard what happened to Kelly Tilghman? (interruption) What? I don\u2019t know where the American… (interruption) No, this story is widely known. A lot of people have written about this. That\u2019s the point. The story is widely known. It\u2019s just not talked about because it doesn\u2019t fit the image that Obama is putting forth. Remember, who started these puff pieces of Obama and the image that he\u2019s got? Your memories aren\u2019t this short. Let\u2019s go back to last spring. Remember all these Washington Post, New York Times puff pieces on Obama? We\u2019re all scratching our heads, ‘What is this? What, are they trying to sabotage Mrs. Clinton? What is this? Obama?\u2019<\/p>\n

No, no, no, no. This has been a well-crafted image. The story of Alice Palmer has been out there all over this place. It doesn\u2019t fit the narrative of the Drive-By Media. I mean, how could they report this after the image they created of the guy? Remember, the Drive-Bys are as important for what they don\u2019t report as they are for what they do.<\/p>\n
