RUSH: This is Kathy in Wichita. Kathy, thanks for waiting. You\u2019re up next on the EIB Network. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Fine. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, I just wanted to say, I really am insulted by the media\u2019s response to how Hillary is crying. I mean, who cares? It just seems like they just give her a pass at everything, you know, when she was asked, you know, by Chris Matthews about the illegal immigrant thing, remember, they were supposed to send her softball questions? We\u2019re supposed to be soft with her and we\u2019re supposed to be all loving with her and gentle with her, but it just doesn\u2019t seem like they want to deal with real issues. Even this morning on NBC, they brought up past presidents that were crying, and it was just — to us, we just all started laughing. Because it\u2019s like, who cares? What are the issues? I have no idea what Obama believes. I don\u2019t even know what Hillary\u2019s standing for, because all they do is say they want to have a change, so anyway, I just —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, in Hillary\u2019s case it\u2019s all about her power. It\u2019s all about her and Bill getting back in the White House, and saying whatever she has to, to do that. But you have an interesting perception here on the press reaction to her crying. Because it was the Drive-Bys, when she cried and when she lost it in that debate on Saturday night, it was the Drive-Bys, and particularly those on cable news at night, which started mocking her and started making fun of her and started suggesting that this was the end, then the polling came out, and she was down, 5, 10, 12 points to Obama, and they had buried her and they were running around saying, ‘It\u2019s over,\u2019 and they were doing stories about how she will get out of the race now; the era of Clinton is over. Then all of a sudden the actual votes are counted and she wins by two or three points, and then the Drive-Bys were trying to figure out what went wrong. The first thing they did was examine their polling. And, by the way, I predicted this yesterday, a little bit of a sidebar here. I said that they\u2019re going to have to get to the bottom of this, find out what happened here on the Democrat side because this was one of the biggest blows that anybody in polling has ever made, since they\u2019ve been doing this. It was outrageously wrong, and they\u2019re going to have to find out what happened. So they\u2019ve done a couple days of investigation now, and guess what? There was nothing wrong. There was nothing wrong. We\u2019ll have that Stack coming up in just a second. So, anyway, she wins, Kathy, and yesterday I explained to the country why women went to her on the Democrat side in droves. So today, the Drive-Bys are now in gear, and they\u2019re sympathetic to her. Oh, they have done a 180! Prior to the actual vote. In New Hampshire, they were burying her, and they were being mean, and that is one of the things that drove women to her net ballot box on Tuesday. Now, they\u2019re still not talking about issues but they\u2019re talking about the tears and how it worked and how marvelous it is. They\u2019re just…<\/p>\n

CALLER: They\u2019re blowing it out of proportion, I think. Isn\u2019t it a liberal state anyway?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, it\u2019s more liberal than it used to be. It\u2019s certainly not the national bellwether that it used to be. The New Hampshire primary used to be a pretty good indication who was going to win, both parties\u2019 nomination. It\u2019s not that so much anymore. In their mind, they\u2019re not making too big a deal about it because they were so wrong. See, to the Drive-Bys everything is about them. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm. Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You can disagree, folks, but this is the most… These people give more awards to each other. They have more television shows analyzing their work and how they do it than any industry on earth, including Hollywood.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, there\u2019s no truth anymore, like with the global warming. I mean, nobody questions it, and, you know, you\u2019re just sitting there on the side. My husband works for an evil oil company. It\u2019s, like, crazy. You know, it\u2019s like we could have really cheap gas out there if people would call their senators, and China is even drilling off of our coast in Florida. So it\u2019s crazy. There\u2019s no such thing as truth anymore.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, because they\u2019re all advocates, and this happens when they lost their monopoly in 1988. They\u2019ve chosen sides, and they\u2019re being compliant about it. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s something else. You said earlier he didn\u2019t know what Obama stands for, what he\u2019s saying. Did you hear his concession speech what he came in second? <\/p>\n

CALLER: All I hear is they wanted change, they wanted change, they wanted change.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no. He talked about ridding the country of the ‘tyranny\u2019 of oil. Now, people have got to understand, Obama may be inspirational. He may be young, and he may have this mellifluous voice that\u2019s profoundly charismatic.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It appeals to Oprah women.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But when you listen to what he\u2019s saying, he\u2019s every bit as liberal as anybody the Democrats have ever nominated. The tyranny of oil? Rid the country of the tyranny of oil? Mrs. Clinton has essentially said the same thing, she\u2019s going to take their profits. But right now this personality contest is exactly that. It\u2019s not about issues. They don\u2019t care. The liberals are not running for anything. You\u2019re wanting the Drive-Bys to expose issues on the Democrats? It ain\u2019t going to happen because they already have the fixed assumption that whatever issues Hillary or Obama want, they\u2019re far superior to our side\u2019s. They don\u2019t have to be explained. Everybody knows it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: She\u2019s mad at Chris Matthews for asking too hard a question at the debate.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, that was Russert.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Russert? Was it?<\/p>\n

RUSH: That was Russert that asked her about the driver\u2019s licenses for illegals in New York.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. And so we can\u2019t ask her — we only have to ask her soft things to make her look soft, because, I don\u2019t know, I think back to Vince Foster, and I didn\u2019t ever see her once crying over her husband\u2019s affairs with different women like Lewinsky and stuff here. So these are things I would have cried over, and I would have — you know, I think a strong woman would have just divorced that man a long time ago. You know, so, I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, she couldn\u2019t divorce him. She wouldn\u2019t be anywhere without his last name. You know, hello feminism. She tried the Hillary ‘Rodham\u2019 Clinton, it didn\u2019t work. She\u2019s back to Hillary Clinton. Some still use the Rodham, but she\u2019s asked them to officially dump it; she\u2019s Hillary Clinton now. She wouldn\u2019t be where she is were it not for her last name. That\u2019s a dirty little secret that everybody knows. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was totally flabbergasted. What does she think being president is going to be? It\u2019s going to be a cakewalk compared to campaigning. <\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: This runaway media is just ridiculous about it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because the media has got to explain to itself how they blew it. It\u2019s about them. They\u2019ve got egg on their face. What was it that caused them to miss this? That\u2019s why they\u2019re focusing on the crying and the tears. They\u2019re focusing on how magical it was and how fooled they were and how wonderfully it worked, and all of that. It is what it is because the media are who they were. I, frankly, figured your comment about, ‘If she thinks campaigning is tough, what about…?\u2019 Folks, this was calculated, now. I mean, even Jesse Jackson, Jr., is out making the observation you just did. Wait a minute. She didn\u2019t cry after Katrina! She didn\u2019t cry during Bill\u2019s philandering. She didn\u2019t cry during any of these other things. She didn\u2019t cry over soldiers being killed in Iraq. She didn\u2019t cry over that. What\u2019s she crying over now?
