RUSH: Donald Trump\u2019s outraged, and again, it\u2019s audio sound bite number 24 this afternoon, CNBC Power Lunch, they played a preview clip. I guess there\u2019s an interview tomorrow morning on Squawk Box, Joe Kernen interviewed Trump, and they played an excerpt, and in the excerpt Trump goes after the director of the Federal Reserve, because the Fed is raising interest rates, which ticks Trump off.<\/p>\n

Trump does not want his economy slowed down. His economy\u2019s going great guns. We\u2019re headed to 4% GDP, the Federal Reserve, “Oh, no, no, no, no, no, we gotta slow it down, we gotta make sure there\u2019s no inflation.” So they raise interest rates. You\u2019re not supposed to attack the Fed chairman in public, you see. Not while the Russians are meddling in elections and while Mueller\u2019s investigating, you\u2019re not supposed to do this. And Trump apparently did.<\/p>\n
THE PRESIDENT: I put a very good man in the Fed. I don\u2019t necessarily agree with it because he\u2019s raising interest rates, I\u2019m not saying that I agree with it. And I don\u2019t necessarily agree with it. I must tell you, I don\u2019t. I\u2019m not thrilled. But at the same time, I\u2019m letting them do what they feel is best. I\u2019m just saying the same thing that I would have said as a private citizen. So somebody would say, “Oh, maybe you shouldn\u2019t say that as the president.” I couldn\u2019t care less what they say. I don\u2019t like all of this work that we\u2019re putting into the economy and then I see rates going up.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Damn right. They\u2019re putting a lot of work, they\u2019re overcoming a lot of obstacles, primarily the Democrat Party and primarily the Washington establishment and they\u2019re creating a growing American economy again. Here comes the Fed raising interest rates to slow it down and he\u2019s ticked off and he\u2019s acknowledged, “I guess you\u2019re not supposed to do this in public when you\u2019re president, but I would do it in private if I wasn\u2019t president and I am president, and I don\u2019t like it!”<\/p>\n
So now there\u2019s gonna be a meltdown over this. That Trump doesn\u2019t know how to behave. And he\u2019s gonna cause turmoil and chaos in the markets. It\u2019s unprecedented, don\u2019t you know, \u2019cause the Russians are meddling, and Mueller\u2019s investigating. Here comes Trump destabilizing the Federal Reserve by daring to criticize what the gods of interest rates there are doing. How dare he! But remember the Russians meddled.
