RUSH: Now, the left is also scared to death of next potential nomination. And let\u2019s just say this. They\u2019re scared to death of the future of Ruth “Buzzi” Ginsburg. Justice Ginsburg has been in poor health. Justice Ginsburg is over 80. And you don\u2019t need my word to tell you, to convince you that they\u2019re scared to death.<\/p>\n

You know, let\u2019s talk about Obama and Hillary, how brilliant they are. Really? This is how bright they are. This is how strategically bright and formidable they are. If they had known what they were doing, they would have cajoled Ruth “Buzzi” Ginsburg into retiring while Obama was prexy so that he could name her appointment and have that seat guaranteed for the Democrats for the next 40 years.<\/p>\n

\"\"But they calculated there was no way Hillary could lose. It didn\u2019t even occur to them that Donald Trump would win. It never occurred to them that a Republican might have a chance to appoint the next couple of justices, or three. They assumed that would be their exclusive right. And so they didn\u2019t make any suggestion to Ruth “Buzzi” Ginsburg that she retire.<\/p>\n

Now where are they? Now a situation in all of their brilliance, in all of their strategic tactician brilliance, they never conceived of this. So I do think we need to redefine “smart” because these people ain\u2019t it. They are said to be the best and brightest and so smart we can\u2019t even keep up with them. But it\u2019s the other way around. They\u2019re so arrogant and self-focused that they have no room for intelligence, and certainly not any intellectual growth \u2019cause they already know everything.<\/p>\n

So now the left realizes this gigantic tactical error. And I have a story — (laughing) — this made me laugh. There is a swirling controversy over this. The story is in Politico magazine. Now, Ruth “Buzzi” Ginsburg is 83. She\u2019s been in poor health off and on for a number of years, bless her heart. And she\u2019s hung in there because, you know, she doesn\u2019t want Trump naming her replacement. She just doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

The headline of this story, Politico magazine, it\u2019s by somebody named Ben Schreckinger: “I Did Ruth Bader Ginsburg\u2019s Workout. It Nearly Broke Me. Pumping iron with RBG\u2019s personal trainer is no joke<\/a>.”<\/p>\n

Are you kidding me? We have a 27-year-old strapping young — well, I don\u2019t know how much you can describe a leftist journalist as strapping, but by comparison I guess you could. A 27-year-old, 28-year-old journalist claiming that Ruth “Buzzi” Ginsburg\u2019s workout nearly destroyed him.<\/p>\n

“In the early hours of Nov. 9, as stock markets began to rally on the news of Donald Trump\u2019s upset win, there was another dramatic spike afoot. Interest in the bone density and cholesterol levels of an 83-year-old woman from Flatbush, New York, was also soaring.<\/p>\n

“Many people wanted to know whether two-time cancer survivor Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the oldest and perhaps the most liberal justice on the Supreme Court, had enough gas in the tank to outlast the Trump presidency, or whether Trump would get a chance to fundamentally alter the balance of the court by replacing her –” Oh, that\u2019s another thing. I should have mentioned this to Vice President Pence.<\/a><\/p>\n

They better not fall into this balance of the court business. That\u2019s irrelevant. That\u2019s another liberal construct. “Wait a minute. You can\u2019t nominate a conservative to replace Ruth ‘Buzzi\u2019 Ginsburg. That would upset the balance.” There is no balance of the court. The only balance in the law is the scales of justice. That\u2019s what I mean. There\u2019s no political balance on the court. This needs to be nuked and done away with ASAP.<\/p>\n

And every conservative out there had better learn real quick, don\u2019t fall for this business of be concerned with the balance of the court. There shouldn\u2019t even be that characterization.<\/p>\n

At any rate, many people wanted to know whether two-time cancer survivor Ruth “Buzzi” Ginsburg had enough gas in the tank to outlast a Trump presidency or whether Trump would get a chance to name her replacement.<\/p>\n

“As it turns out, the answer to that question lies largely in the hands of a staffer in the clerk\u2019s office of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Asked earlier this month about the most important person in her life,” Ginsburg said, “My personal trainer.”<\/p>\n

\"\"She\u2019s a 83. The most important person in her life is her personal trainer. Are we buying this? Hello? Do we buy this? My grandfather was one once 83, didn\u2019t have a personal trainer, so I didn\u2019t have a chance to ask him. (interruption) She\u2019s 85 now? Well, what\u2019s the date of this story? Yeah, this story\u2019s 2017! They tweeted this thing out yesterday. This just goes to show you how scared to death — they\u2019re assuring everybody that this woman\u2019s workout is one that a 27-year-old journalist can\u2019t even keep up with.<\/p>\n

Are we buying this? Do we believe this? Here\u2019s the tweet. “Our 27-year-old reporter did Justice Ginsburg\u2019s workout. It nearly broke him.” And apparently the next headline, “Right-Wing Twitter Is Angry Over a Ruth Bader Ginsburg Workout Video.<\/p>\n

“Far-right Twitter keeps getting angry over a video of a reporter doing Ruth Bader Ginsburg\u2019s workout — After the news outlet reposted the story on Twitter just hours before President Donald Trump chose the replacement for Kennedy, right-wing Twitter exploded, and was convinced the workout was easy.”<\/p>\n

I mean, this just shows you, ladies and gentlemen, the degree of panic, that they\u2019re out there assuring leftist radicals, “Don\u2019t worry about Ruth, don\u2019t worry about Justice Ginsburg. We had a 27-year-old reporter assigned to her and he can\u2019t even keep up with her workout.” So she\u2019s 85 years old. I think they\u2019re worried to death and I think they\u2019re privately cursing Obama and Hillary for not having figured this out.<\/p>\n

\"\"My Uncle Steve is 91 years old<\/a>, still practices law, plays tennis every day. Does not have a personal trainer, and if he did, probably wouldn\u2019t tell me that the most important thing in his life is his personal trainer. I\u2019m guessing! I shouldn\u2019t speak for him, but I\u2019ve never heard him talk about his personal trainer. He lives in St. Louis. He plays tennis every day, three or four times a week at least. He does. And I don\u2019t mean, you know, shuffleboard tennis. This is the real thing. He\u2019s a former federal judge, Eastern District of Missouri. His son, Steven Jr., now sits on that bench.<\/p>\n

But they\u2019re scared to death. By the way, if you saw my Uncle Steve, you wouldn\u2019t guess anything over 65. I am not kidding you. Grandfather lived to be 108, Steve\u2019s father. And I don\u2019t know anybody — in fact, I don\u2019t know anybody in our family that even has a personal trainer, now that I stop and think about it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
