CALLER: Thank you for taking my call, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ve been listening to you since the White House was under siege back in the early nineties.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate your being here that long, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. Well, I had two questions that I wanted to address with you. One very brief, one a little more comprehensive. I\u2019d like to start with mainly the health care. As a health insurance broker, small businessman, I might add, I\u2019ve done a lot of research into the market. I talk to people all the time, and what the government is essentially planning to do, or Hillary is, is to, ‘I\u2019m going to regulate it better than the people who are already regulating it now,\u2019 when government has never regulated anything better. And attached to that, why aren\u2019t those questions being asked in the presidential race as opposed to who\u2019s doing what in Iowa and how much money they\u2019re raising?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, there\u2019s a simple answer to the question. In the case of the Drive-By Media, there is no doubt that the federal government should be in charge of as much of your life and your business and mine as possible. So when Hillary Clinton, if I\u2019m understanding you right, if Hillary Clinton and Obama are offering competing plans as run by the government, nobody\u2019s asking the question, ‘Well, wait a minute, you guys have never run a health care business, you guys have never done anything, why in the world are you more qualified than people in the private sector?\u2019 They\u2019re not going to ask that question because you gotta understand how liberals think. The private sector is corrupt, the government\u2019s angelic.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Huh. I mean I guess based off of what they expect people like me to believe that?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, they don\u2019t expect you to believe it. They expect your customers to believe it. They think that most — and your employees. They think most people are dumb and foolable and so forth and can be made to hate you because you\u2019re the boss and love government because they are going to protect your customers and employees from evil people like you. That\u2019s the gambit.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. But unfortunately, the truth of the matter is, I\u2019d just like to add, that folks like me, the brokers, the agents out there, are always a phone call away if there\u2019s ever an issue, versus you ever try to get on the phone with Medicare? Hope you\u2019ve got at least a few minutes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, I keep making this point. If you don\u2019t like going to DMV, imagine if the only place you can go to resolve a health care problem is some government agency. Anybody who\u2019s ever had an experience with a large bureaucracy — and, by the way, if Mrs. Clinton\u2019s elected and she gets her arms totally around this, and the only place you can go is government, folks, take a look at Canada, take a look at Great Britain. When that\u2019s the only place you can go, the people working there have no incentive to make you happy, they have no incentive to speed things up, they\u2019re government workers on a G pay scale, and it\u2019s not going to matter, and they\u2019re going to work at their own pace, and it\u2019s just the way it is. It\u2019s a mystery to me why people think — well, it\u2019s not a mystery. I understand it. It\u2019s just something we have to combat. People think the government is beneficent, benevolent, that it is angelic, it has only the best of intentions for its people, and the private sector is where the average consumer gets screwed. It is people like Mrs. Clinton and Barack Obama who spread that image and make that notion each and every day. It\u2019s just an offshoot of the class envy thing. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
