SHARPE: I heard you guys don\u2019t like black people.<\/p>\nRUSH: Let\u2019s go to the audio sound bites on our African-American guy who asked for reparations from Starbucks because of what happened with a couple of black customers. By the way, if this is not typical, Philadelphia\u2019s police commissioner has apologized to the two men arrested at Starbucks. His name is Richard Ross. He apologized today after he defended the police officers\u2019 actions for arresting two black guys at Starbucks.<\/p>\n
Now, folks, we live in a great country at risk in a dangerous world, and there are really, really big things going on. And I think this is a microcosm of what\u2019s wrong with the country, this touchy-feely, emotional attachment to things. Three hundred plus million people live in our country. We have major, important things that need solutions. And we have now spent a week going over the details of two people, two guys who were not treated the way they thought they should have been treated at a coffee shop.<\/p>\n
And we\u2019re turning ourselves upside down, and we\u2019re deciding whether or not we are a decent country or not because of this. It\u2019s irrelevant! It\u2019s small ball! It\u2019s a distraction! But to the left it\u2019s everything. And now we got the police commissioner apologizing? He\u2019s probably trying to stave off a lawsuit.<\/p>\n
But here\u2019s the setup. This is Monday at an unidentified Starbucks store, a guy we now know to be comedian Bryan Sharpe, filmed himself walking in and asking a barista for a free coffee as reparations for the African-American men being arrested in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n
SHARPE: I heard you guys don\u2019t like black people.<\/p>\n
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BARISTA: Not our store.<\/p>\n
SHARPE: So I wanted to get my Starbucks reparations.<\/p>\n
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BARISTA: Is that a real thing? I mean, I\u2019ll give it to you. I, yeah, I saw that on my Twitter last night, I was like, what the (bleeped).<\/p>\n
SHARPE: Yeah, I need, I need a free coffee.<\/p>\n
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BARISTA: I\u2019ll give you a free coffee.<\/p>\n
UNIDENTIFIED MAN: That\u2019s what I\u2019m\u2026<\/p>\n
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BARISTA (to another barista): Did you hear what happened?<\/p>\n
UNIDENTIFIED MAN: \u2026 talking about! This is justice.<\/p>\n
SHARPE: Where was that, Arizona?<\/p>\n
UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE BARISTA: Philly.<\/p>\n
UNIDENTIFIED MAN: This is justice. This is what I\u2019m talking about.<\/p>\n
RUSH: (laughing) This is justice. This is justice. That whole term has been bastardized and blown to smithereens now to mean all kinds of things it doesn\u2019t. Dawn, are you getting bored in there? No, I wouldn\u2019t blame you if you were.<\/p>\n
This guy\u2019s funny. But the whole idea that we\u2019re taking time here to talk about, okay, so couple guys got arrested at Starbucks, big whoop. We turn it into a week long story, the purpose of which is so the left can trash America, again. And I can understand you being fed up with it. But this is a different angle. This is a guy trolling \u2019em. This is a conservative black comedian named Bryan Sharpe, and he\u2019s throwing it right back down their throats.<\/p>\n
SHARPE:\u00a0 I am sick and tired of liberals using black people and making us look like victims, making us look soft with their liberal dogma.\u00a0 It is disgusting!\u00a0 The other thing I hate about liberals is, if you\u2019re a black man — as I am — in America, they will not hand you a microphone unless you follow the liberal narrative.\u00a0 And I said, “You know what?\u00a0 I bet if I go into Starbucks and I follow a liberal narrative, I\u2019ll make the news,” and, voila! Here I am.<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 He was on The Ingraham Angle on the Fox News Channel last night, and he called it.\u00a0 He said (paraphrased), “I\u2019ll betcha if I go in there and if I play it the right way — the angry black guy — demanding coffee reparations, I\u2019ll bet you they give it to me.” And the barista instantly did and started feeling guilty and started apologizing, even though her store hadn\u2019t done anything, and nothing had happened to this guy.\u00a0 This guy was walking in \u2019cause he\u2019s mad at what happened to the other two guys.\u00a0 So the question, “Are you getting grief for this, Bryan? Friends, liberals saying, ‘How dare you do this?\u00a0 This a serious issue.\u00a0 Now you\u2019re making light of it.\u2019\u00a0 Are they asking you this? ‘How dare you do this?'”<\/p>\n
SHARPE:\u00a0 You\u2019re gonna get enemies, and you have to learn how to use \u2019em.\u00a0 I know how to use them.\u00a0 So I embrace the hate.\u00a0 I embrace it \u2019cause it gets balanced out with love.\u00a0 But all the people that hate? They\u2019re just brainwashed by liberals.\u00a0 That\u2019s all it is.\u00a0 They\u2019re afraid to think for themselves.<\/p>\n
RUSH:\u00a0 Absolutely!\u00a0 His name, again, is Bryan Sharpe, ladies and gentlemen.\u00a0 Now we circle back to ABC\u2019s Good Morning America.\u00a0 Cohost Robin Roberts interviewing the two African-American guys arrested at Starbucks last week — Rashon Nelson and Donte Robinson — and their attorney, Stewart Cohen.\u00a0 Robin Roberts said Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson said he\u2019s met with you.\u00a0 Can you divulge what you talked about?”<\/p>\n
COHEN:\u00a0 We approached Starbucks and suggested that we engage in mediation with a retired federal judge in Philadelphia, and they agreed to that proposal and we are still involved in that process.\u00a0 That process requires confidentiality.<\/p>\n
RUSH:\u00a0 So why are you talking about it, dude?\u00a0 You hear this?\u00a0 They suggested… This guy\u2019s lawyer suggested they engage in mediation with a retired federal judge in Philadelphia.\u00a0 What\u2019s to mediate?\u00a0 Starbucks will give him anything.\u00a0 Starbucks is already bending over and saying, “Have your way with me! Whatever you want.” (interruption) What?\u00a0 Did that upset you in there?\u00a0 Now you… (interruption) It is.\u00a0 It\u2019s frustrating.\u00a0 Mediation with a federal judge over this?\u00a0 Now, this next series of bites (there\u2019s only two more) is gonna prove my point.\u00a0 Robin Roberts says to one of the guys, “What do you want to see happen here, Donte?”<\/p>\n
ROBINSON:\u00a0 I want to make sure that this situation doesn\u2019t happen again.\u00a0 So what I want is for a young man or young men to not be traumatized by this and instead motivated, inspired.<\/p>\n
ROBERTS: (whispering) And what do you want, Rashon?<\/p>\n
NELSON:\u00a0 So, you know, take this opportunity as — as a steppingstone, you know, to really stand up and, you know, show your greatness. And that you are not judged by the color of your skin as our ancestors were or anyone else. Just really taking those actions and putting \u2019em in a place and, you know, help people understand that it\u2019s not just a black people thing. This is a people thing.\u00a0 And that\u2019s exactly what we want to see out of this, and that\u2019s true change.\u00a0 So put action in the place and stop using words.<\/p>\n
RUSH:\u00a0 There you go. (interruption) You\u2019re asking the wrong pers… (interruption) Well, you want to know what it means?\u00a0 “Well, it\u2019s a people thing.\u00a0 That\u2019s exactly what we want to see out of this.\u00a0 And that\u2019s true change.\u00a0 So put action in…?” (interruption) The thing is, Starbucks is engaging all kinds of action.\u00a0 They gave a guy reparations coffee for the rest of his life.\u00a0 The CEO\u2019s willing to meet with a federal judge to be mediated out of business if that\u2019s what it takes.<\/p>\n
(interruption) What do I think they\u2019ll end up with? (interruption) Oh, yeah, they\u2019ll get your own franchise. They\u2019ll get your own franchise and somebody else to run it for \u2019em.\u00a0 The lawyer may get the franchise.\u00a0 These guys get the profits. \u00a0I don\u2019t know.\u00a0 But, yeah, they\u2019ll be offered a franchise.\u00a0 In fact, they\u2019ll probably be offered a franchise at a place that otherwise there wouldn\u2019t be a Starbucks.\u00a0 So he\u2019s gonna take it on their neighborhood. Starbucks can say they\u2019re spreading far and wide, helping out all peoples, so forth.<\/p>\n

Starbucks will apologize however many times required.\u00a0 There\u2019s one more bite to go here, and it is Michael Strahan. He\u2019s got Stephanopoulos.\u00a0 Strahan\u2019s on the show here, too, with Robin Roberts.\u00a0 Stephanopoulos, you will hear him in the answer… Stephanopoulos says, “Who hasn\u2019t spent two minutes waiting in a Starbucks?”\u00a0 These guys, I guess they thought they were waiting too long, raised a ruckus, ended up getting arrested, and Stephanopoulos says, “Who hasn\u2019t spent two minutes waiting in a Starbucks?”<\/p>\n
ROBERTS:\u00a0 This is a moment where there has to be change.\u00a0 You know, Michael?<\/p>\n
STRAHAN: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n
ROBERTS: Come on!<\/p>\n
STRAHAN:\u00a0 Two minutes.\u00a0 I mean, and as you said — he just said in the piece — actions, not just words.\u00a0 And I think that\u2019s what they\u2019re looking for to see it, really.<\/p>\n
ROBERTS: Yeah!<\/p>\n
STRAHAN: A real change.\u00a0 Not just with Starbucks, but I think with —<\/p>\n

RUSH:\u00a0 All right.\u00a0 So that was Stephanopoulos, Strahan and Robin Roberts analyzing what they had just put on the air with the two perps and their lawyer. (interruption) Well, not “perps.”\u00a0 The victims.\u00a0 Okay, the victims.\u00a0 Whatever, the two arrestees.\u00a0 I\u2019m not judging.\u00a0 I\u2019m just trying to tell people who we\u2019re talking about here.\u00a0 Robin Roberts.\u00a0 “This is a moment where there has to be change.”\u00a0 Robin, it\u2019s a coffee shop.\u00a0 Starbucks!\u00a0 It\u2019s a quintessential leftist place.\u00a0 How can this even happen there, Robin?\u00a0 Come on!\u00a0 It\u2019s Starbucks!<\/p>\n

Starbucks! Every one of them is its own little liberal utopian enclave, I thought.\u00a0 Where everybody\u2019s equal, everybody\u2019s free, everybody\u2019s happy. Except everybody has to pay.\u00a0 Liberals are not used to that.\u00a0 But still.\u00a0 Aside from that, everybody\u2019s happy and everybody\u2019s hunky-dory. Everything liberals believe in is supposedly encompassed inside every Starbucks.\u00a0 How can this happen there?\u00a0 You would think this kind of stuff would happen at Chick-fil-A, right?\u00a0 But no.\u00a0 It happens at Starbucks.<\/p>\n
(laughing) Chick-fil-A! They\u2019re opening one in New York, and the left is panicked!\u00a0 New Yorker magazine wants Chick-fil-A denied permission.\u00a0 They look at this as an invasion!\u00a0 Now, Michael Strahan, Hall of Fame football player for the New York Giants, said, “I mean, and as you said — he just said in the piece — actions, not just words.\u00a0 And I think that\u2019s what they\u2019re looking for to see it, really. A real change.\u00a0 Not just with Starbucks, but I think with…” Robin Roberts, moving in to save the day here: “It\u2019s a societal issue.”<\/p>\n
“Society, yeah,” Strahan says.\u00a0 Robin Roberts, “This is… It\u2019s… You just can\u2019t label it on Starbucks.”\u00a0 So no, see?\u00a0 It isn\u2019t Starbucks, even though it is.\u00a0 It\u2019s all of America.\u00a0 They gotta bail Starbucks out.\u00a0 They have to save Starbucks.\u00a0 At Starbucks, this kind of thing should never happen.\u00a0 Nobody in Starbucks should ever be treating minorities this way or even thinking of them this way.
