RUSH: Ellen in Chattanooga. You\u2019re next. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey Rush. Big orange dittos from the Volunteer State.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was calling to see if by any chance you caught the Tim Russert program yesterday where he interviewed Bill Cosby on his new book: Come On People: On the Path from Victims to Victors.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, I\u2019ve got a couple of sound bites here from Cosby on that show. He\u2019s having a tough row.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You mean promoting the book it\u2019s been a tough road?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, no, not promoting the book, he\u2019s going to find an audience for a book. He\u2019s having a tough row to hoe in his message from the people to whom he\u2019s aiming the message.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s true. And that\u2019s why I called. I was wondering, do you think that there is a Democrat candidate who\u2019s kind of launching him forward, for instance, on Tim Russert\u2019s show, orchestrating it to maybe use this fight for black America as part of their platform on the home front?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I have no idea about that. Cosby\u2019s been saying this long before this year\u2019s campaign got going.<\/p>\n

CALLER: True. It just seemed unusual.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s not a Democrat candidate out there that would say this stuff, Ellen.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you\u2019re probably right. That\u2019s why I was just curious. It seemed like an interesting interview for Tim to all of a sudden do, so I just wondered if somebody else was pushing him out there and we\u2019re going to try and fight the cause with them.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You think this doesn\u2019t fit what Russert would normally do?<\/p>\n

CALLER: The way he introduced the program just seemed like it was an out-of-the-ordinary interview, and so that\u2019s why I wondered if somebody was pushing it forward.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, no, I don\u2019t think there\u2019s any conspiracy going on here. Cosby\u2019s been talking about this stuff for a long, long time. There\u2019s a book out. Russert was probably looking for a change of pace from the usual political stuff. What Cosby\u2019s basically doing, and the two bites — I don\u2019t have time to play them right now — so I\u2019ll hold \u2019em over for tomorrow. But he basically describes 40 years of liberalism in a nutshell: trying to make abnormal behavior normal; trying to justify abnormal behavior by refusing to be judgmental against it, no standards. I can\u2019t imagine that any Democrat presidential candidate would want to share a stage with Bill Cosby right now.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
