RUSH: Here\u2019s Joe in Cincinnati. We\u2019re back there. Joe, great to have you on the program. How you doing, sir?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good to talk to you, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just wanted to make the point that if people thought we were motivated to vote when Trump was elected, we\u2019re even more motivated now, seeing everything that\u2019s being done to this country openly. You know, it just scares us to death. And so far we haven\u2019t had any organized, you know, marchers or anything, because there\u2019s never been a super flash point, but we are definitely motivated to vote in the next election.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I don\u2019t have any doubt that you are, and they don\u2019t have any doubt that the reason you\u2019re motivated is because of what you see on the news every day. The Drive-By Media is using polling data, by the way, to tell everybody that Democrat voters are chomping at the bit, they can\u2019t wait, we wish the election were today, tomorrow, they can\u2019t wait, they\u2019re so motivated, they\u2019re so inspired, so fed up, they\u2019re so ticked off, they\u2019re so mad. They can\u2019t wait to get in there and throw Trump out of office. They can\u2019t wait to get in there and make sure everybody knows how mad they are.<\/p>\n

As far as the media\u2019s concerned, the Republicans are depressed. The Republicans that voted for Trump are slowly starting to realize their mistake, and they\u2019re feeling guilty about it, and they certainly are not nearly as motivated and inspired to protect Trump as they were to elect him because they realized what an ogre he is. This is the image that they project.<\/p>\n

But in the latest polling data, we shared this with you earlier this week, it turns out that in a couple of polls, voter intensity, which is how they measure the so-called motivation, voter intensity is equal. But they\u2019re covering up how intense and desirous Republicans and Trump supporters are to vote.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is Marvin Kalb at the National Press Club\u2019s Monday night live The Kalb Report<\/a> event. He\u2019s a professor at Harvard, and he\u2019s talking with the New York Times White House correspondent Peter Baker about covering the White House under Trump.<\/p>\n

\"\"KALB: I have been told by many of your colleagues how difficult it is to cover President Trump —<\/p>\n

BAKER: Mmmph!<\/p>\n

KALB: — that he simply dominates everything in the environment and therefore you get caught up, on any given day, covering the story that he sort of presents to you.<\/p>\n

BAKER: He is a remarkable force of nature in a way I\u2019ve never seen. So, in that environment, as you say, to kind of escape that vortex and focus on something of our own, you know, ambition, uhhh, is a challenge.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Come on! What kind of dummkopfs do they think we are? These guys, Peter Baker and Marvin Kalb, are actually saying, “There\u2019s all kinds of stuff we want to cover, but we don\u2019t. We can\u2019t! We can\u2019t because Trump is forcing us to cover him. He does so much and he\u2019s in the news so often that we can\u2019t not cover…” It sounds to me like Trump has these guys wrapped around his little finger.<\/p>\n

It sounds to me like Trump is having his way with these people. Now, they\u2019re not writing flattering things, but they\u2019re writing about him and nothing else, and they\u2019re blaming it on him. “He is a remarkable force of nature in a way I\u2019ve never seen.” Yeah, we gotta get rid of this guy. This guy has much more presence, this guy\u2019s got much more pizzazz than any of the dullards in our club have. We\u2019ve gotta get rid of this guy.<\/p>\n

Here, grab… Go back to sound bite No. 12. It is Judith Regan. Judith Regan was the editor of my first two books, The Way Things Ought to Be and See, I Told You So. She\u2019s now publisher and editor. She was on CNN Newsroom late yesterday afternoon with Brooke Baldwin, and she\u2019s complaining that you can\u2019t publish books anymore unless they have something to do with Trump.<\/p>\n

\"\"REGAN: It\u2019s a sad thing for people who don\u2019t publish political books, because the truth is Donald Trump and the subject of Donald Trump has really sucked oxygen out of the publishing business in the last year or two. It\u2019s a very, very difficult for anyone who\u2019s writing a nonfiction book about any other subject to get any attention. Everyone is focusing on Trump all the time. I think Donald Trump should write a book about marketing because he knows how to keep the reality show going. He\u2019s very good at it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right, and this is the guy that\u2019s gonna lose. His party is gonna lose in a wave election in November, and then Trump is gonna get smoked in 2020. This guy who dominates the news. You know, in our personality-driven culture, nobody is sending Trump anywhere. There\u2019s nobody that can compete with him. I\u2019m gonna tell you something else quickly before I have to go to the break. Our last caller made the point that Trump voters are just as motivated, if not more so, as they\u2019ve always been.<\/p>\n

Because they\u2019re fed up and they\u2019re fit to be tied with what they see as the unfair treatment Trump and they are getting. Now, the media\u2019s trying to tell everybody that Trump supporters — and some Trump voters who really didn\u2019t like him but voted for him anyway — are over it. A lot of Trump voters are embarrassed. A lot of Trump voters wish they could do it over. A lot of Trump voters are totally shocked. He\u2019s not at all what they thought they were gonna get.<\/p>\n

They really regret it.<\/p>\n

So they\u2019re trying to paint a picture that the Democrats and the leftists have all this Secretariat kind of energy and stamina and they just can\u2019t wait. They can\u2019t wait! Just like in 2016. Every election, by the way, we get this same narrative. Democrats motivated. Democrats inspired. All up and down the demographic range! Young people, old people, dead people, illegals, doesn\u2019t matter. They can\u2019t wait to vote. On the other side, Republicans are sheepish and hiding their heads in embarrassment. People that voted for Trump don\u2019t want anybody to know it.<\/p>\n

Where the truth is that people that voted for Trump, and they\u2019re still there; he still has his base; it\u2019s still intact; and those who are loosely supportive of Trump, I guarantee you they are the ones fit to be tied on a daily basis by watching this — you know what this is? At its basest, at its most elementary, this is the most unfair treatment of a politician president that people can ever remember. And we live in a culture devoted to fairness, equality.<\/p>\n

And I guarantee you this, whatever you want to call it, the silent majority, the great unwashed, the people who make the country work are sitting out there, and to the extent that they\u2019re still watching the news and to the extent they\u2019re still reading it, they\u2019re so ticked off, you can\u2019t understand it. They hate the media, they despise CNN, the New York Times, and they can\u2019t wait to show them. And their next opportunity is gonna be Election Day in November.<\/p>\n

So don\u2019t fall for this idea that the only people motivated are leftists and Democrats and the only anger out there is leftist and Democrats and the only highly motivated are leftists and Democrats. There is an equal, just as motivated and just as angry, in its own way, force that\u2019s just waiting to counter these leftists. And the media doesn\u2019t think they exist.<\/p>\n

The media is lying to themselves about how you people are all depressed, Trump has disappointed you, he\u2019s just so embarrassing, you can\u2019t even publicly admit anymore that you voted for the guy. They don\u2019t have any idea, like in 2016, they don\u2019t have any idea what\u2019s headed their way.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: By the way, folks, Judith Regan, with all due respect, is not entirely correct. There\u2019s all kinds of books out there that are selling that aren\u2019t about Trump. Take a look at the conservative best-sellers out there. They\u2019re all over the place. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s Judith saying this, but this whole business that the publishing business is whining that your book has to be about Trump or nobody\u2019s gonna buy it, nobody\u2019s gonna publish it, what they\u2019re whining about is their books are not selling!<\/p>\n

Conservative books sell out like crazy. But theirs aren\u2019t. They\u2019re ticked off that they have to write about Trump or include Trump in what they\u2019re doing or else their books don\u2019t sell. Well, their books don\u2019t sell anyway, is the dirty little secret. They\u2019re just ticked off that they don\u2019t have any control over that aspect of the media right now, which happens to be publishing.<\/p>\n

Larger than that, they\u2019re mad that they cannot diminish Trump. They\u2019ve been trying to diminish Trump and relegate him to second-tier status ever since he got in the race. And they\u2019re just livid that they can\u2019t succeed in ruining or damaging or shelving Trump in any way. And they\u2019re getting frustrated as all hell.<\/p>\n

\"\"Because, you see, that doesn\u2019t go with the rest of their narrative. The rest of their narrative is there\u2019s a gigantic blue wave coming. The country can\u2019t wait to get rid of Trump! The country hates Trump! Oh, man, the Democrats are gonna sweep to one of their biggest victories ever. Except at the same time they complain about all the media that they have to cover because it\u2019s Trump and they complain they can\u2019t get their books published because of Trump. And they complain that Trump voters won\u2019t go away.<\/p>\n

The things that they are saying and then complaining about do not go together. A gigantic blue wave with a massive Democrat landslide, you might believe it if Trump\u2019s books didn\u2019t sell, if people weren\u2019t talking about Trump, if Trump weren\u2019t in the media. But that\u2019s not the case. Folks, they\u2019re so out of sorts that they\u2019re cruising for yet another huge comeuppance, and they don\u2019t even see it. I mean, when you\u2019re investing all of your eggs in a porn star hooker, come on.<\/p>\n
