RUSH: Gary in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, you\u2019re next, sir, on the EIB Network. Great to have you with us.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you for taking my call, Rush. I just wanted to know if you were following the fiasco that\u2019s going on in Florida with regards to the Democratic primary, because I was under the impression that this was the party that wanted every vote to count and didn\u2019t want to disenfranchise voters.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but there\u2019s a larger issue than that. That\u2019s not really true. These are the people that wouldn\u2019t even count, or tried not to count, the absentee ballots of overseas military personnel in the Florida 2000 aftermath. I\u2019m sure you remember that, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, yes. Yes, I do.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What the Democrats are putting on display is that all this supposed stuff that they are: free speech, open-minded, tolerant — is all BS. These people are socialists, and they want to control as much as everybody\u2019s lives as they can. Now, this Florida business is interesting on two fronts. Bill Nelson, I hate to say this, one of our senators —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — yours and mine, has actually filed suit against the DNC.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Over this. What\u2019s happened is, for those of you who don\u2019t know, the Florida Democrat Party has announced they\u2019re going to move up their primary to January 29th, which is earlier than the Democrat National Committee wants it to be. And Florida says, ‘Look, we\u2019re a key state, we want to have a say in this.\u2019 So what the Democrat National Committee said, ‘If you don\u2019t move that date back to something later than January 29th, we\u2019re not going to give you any delegate votes at the convention.\u2019 Now, on the surface, Gary, this appears to be a huge internal squabble. But here\u2019s the dirty little secret. Have you checked presidential preference polls in this state in the last couple weeks?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I haven\u2019t.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I have, because it is my job. And guess who has like a 30- to 33-point lead over all of her challengers in this state?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I would guess Mrs. Bill Clinton.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Mrs. Bill Clinton is correct. Now, the DNC has said, since Florida has moved its primary up, you can\u2019t campaign there. We are not going to allow our candidates to campaign there. Well, guess what? Mrs. Clinton doesn\u2019t need to campaign here. She\u2019s got a 33 point lead. The people that need to campaign here are Barack Obama, and the Breck Girl, and whoever else in that bunch thinks they have a chance, but they can\u2019t. This is also a factor. Mrs. Clinton doesn\u2019t have to come in and spend any money in Florida. If her opponents can\u2019t come in here and campaign, what has she got to worry about? This is a name recognition situation for her down here in Florida, and so she\u2019s got the state wrapped up. So while on the surface it appears that Florida Democrats are in a battle with the DNC, in reality it\u2019s Mrs. Clinton putting Florida in her back pocket without a campaign here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, yeah, I appreciate your insight on that, Rush, and thank you very much for taking my call.<\/p>\n
