CALLER: Hey, Rush. It\u2019s an honor to speak with you.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I\u2019m a 31-year-old — technically a Millennial — female. I\u2019ve been a Trump supporter from the beginning. But, anyway, we were at the Masters on Tuesday for a practice round, and it was amazing. At one point, we\u2019re acknowledging the beauty and the history and we laughed to each other; we said, “You know who else has been here? Rush Limbaugh.”<\/p>\n
RUSH: (laughing) Aren\u2019t you sweet.<\/p>\n
CALLER: We had a great time. They really know what they\u2019re doing there.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Aren\u2019t you sweet. I gotta tell you a little story. You\u2019ll understand this. About three weeks ago, I went up and played golf at a local golf course and my caddie said, “Man, this is a big day. This is a big day. Tom Brady is here, Michael Bloomberg is here, a couple of other players — and, to top it all off, you\u2019ve shown up!”<\/p>\n
CALLER: (chuckling)<\/p>\n
RUSH: (chuckling) “You\u2019re here.” He was very nice, just like you. Of all the people you could cite at the Masters, “Rush Limbaugh\u2019s been here.” Was it your first time there?<\/p>\n
CALLER: It was. I had been putting in for about five years and finally got tickets. I was able to take my dad. He got to take his dad. We saw Hogan\u2019s Bridge, Amen Corner, we had our pimento-cheese sandwich. We were able to watch from the driving range, and my husband, Dave, said, “I wonder if that fairway was as steep as Rush was talking about.” So we hiked up that; we got our picture at the circle. We just had a great time.<\/p>\n
RUSH: What did you think? When you walked up 18, what\u2019d you think of it?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah, that was definitely a hike, for sure.<\/p>\n
RUSH: It\u2019s much steeper than television makes it look.<\/p>\n
CALLER: We agreed, for sure. We had a great time, and we hope to do it again.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Do you and your husband play golf?<\/p>\n
CALLER: We dabble, yes. (chuckles)<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay. So you imagine… You\u2019re walking the course and you imagine yourself playing on it. You get to 18; you imagine your second shot. You know, amateurs are told, “You gotta allow for the uphill. You need an extra two clubs for this, depending on the…” We never hear about that — it is even a factor — for those pros. They\u2019ve got one —<\/p>\n
CALLER: Mine would probably roll back to the tee (giggling) on that hill.<\/p>\n
RUSH: It\u2019s steep. It\u2019s just one of the things that television can\u2019t show. Just because of 2D, two dimensional, it cannot tell you how steep it all is.<\/p>\n
CALLER: For sure.<\/p>\n
RUSH: That\u2019s great that you got to go, because it\u2019s hallowed ground. The place is hallowed, revered ground. You were just there for one day, the practice round?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Correct, just on Tuesday for that one day, were thinking about Arnie and, you know, Tiger, and we got to see Phil Mickelson, and they just… It was just a great, great day. We followed —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, I\u2019m glad you got to do that. It is a big deal.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Highly recommended.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019m blown away by that. I really, really appreciate that. Thank you, Katie. That\u2019s just… I\u2019m used, you know, to being thought about and thought of. But I never would think that you\u2019d go to Augusta and you\u2019re walking the grounds and you think of me. (laughing) That blows me away. Anyway, I\u2019m glad you called. Thanks so much. She wanted to walk up 18 because of what I\u2019ve said about it. I remember the first time I was there.<\/p>\n
I was there. Steve Jones had qualified for the Masters, having won the U.S. Open before. I forget the year. He\u2019s a good buddy of then-Phoenix Suns coach Paul Westphal. We got there I guess it was… We got there on Friday, and the first thing I did, I went to Amen Corner. I walked down there and then back up 18. I could not believe that uphill. It does not… I know I\u2019m repeating myself here. It\u2019s steep. I mean, it\u2019s the kind of thing that cardiologists might be standing out there if you\u2019re 70 years old and walking up that hill. You know, have the paddles ready for you, depending on temperature and everything? It\u2019s that steep.<\/p>\n
