We’re back for more comparing Mahmoud to Democrats. Now, I understand it’s probably going to irritate a lot of Democrats, because they’re not going to want to hear this. But, remember, I’m not saying any of these things. It’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad saying them, followed by a Democrat who basically said the same thing. Now, what we don’t know here is who’s parroting who, although my guess is that Mahmoud is parroting Democrats. That’s why he kind of gets off track when he got the homosexual question up there at Columbia. All right, here we go. Here is Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accusing the Bush administration of running secret prisons, and kidnapping, and torture, and wiretapping and all that in his speech at the UN.

AHMADINEJAD: Setting up secret prisons, abducting persons, trials, and secret punishments without any regard to due process, extensive tapping of telephone conversations, intercepting private mail, and frequent summons to police and security centers have become commonplace and prevalent.

RUSH: Now, folks, this is exactly what Mahmoud does, and more, but where is he hearing this? Here is Senator Robert Byrd.

BYRD: Unchecked power to spy on our own people, the power to create covert prisons for secret prisoners, the torture of prisoners to extract information from them. That resolution does not authorize running black hole secret prisons in foreign countries to get around US law. That resolution does not give this president, or any president, the powers reserved only for kings and potentates.

RUSH: I ask you, Sheets Byrd there denouncing President Bush just as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad denounced President Bush. You tell me, what’s the difference? There’s literally no difference. See why this lying, folks, is a problem? I don’t think the Democrats even really believe this. They’re just saying this to appeal to the fringe lunatics and their base, and they’re trying to drum up anti-war sentiment and hatred for Bush because they want to destroy his presidency. The danger in doing this is that you got guys like Bin Laden who come out with videos now and then parrot things like this and Ahmadinejad, who comes to the UN to say it. There’s more. Here is Ahmadinejad with a portion of his address at the UN General Assembly yesterday.

AHMADINEJAD: The Palestinian people have been displaced or are under heavy military pressure, economic siege, or are incarcerated under abhorrent conditions. The occupiers are protected and praised, while the innocent Palestinians are subjected to political, military, and propaganda onslaughts. The people of Palestine are deprived of water, electricity, and medicine for the sin of asking for freedom.

RUSH: Jimmy Carter in December of 2006 on Meet the Press.

CARTER: The apartheid that is perpetrated now on the Palestinians in the occupied territories is not based on racism. It’s based on the desire by a minority of Israelis for Palestinian land. And in the acquisition of that land, the occupation, the confiscation, and then the colonization of that land, they are perpetuating an absolute and total division between the Israelis living on Palestinian territory and the right of Palestinians to interrelate with any Israelis who occupy their own land.

RUSH: Okay, can you detect any difference here in who the culprits and the enemy in the Middle East happen to be with Jimmy Carter and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? Here is Ahmadinejad on the war in Iraq.

AHMADINEJAD: Iraq was occupied under the pretext of overthrowing a dictator and the existence of weapons of mass destruction. The Iraqi dictator, who had been supported by the same occupiers, was disposed of, and no weapons of mass destruction were discovered. But the occupation continues under different excuses.

RUSH: We go to July 31st of this year, Charles Rangel on Wolf Blitzer’s show on CNN.

RANGEL: We started the civil war; we knocked off Saddam Hussein; nothing to do with Al-Qaeda; nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction; nothing to do with 9/11.

RUSH: I tell you, folks, if you Democrats listening, if you want to deny, you want to call here and deny to me that Ahmadinejad is getting his talking points from listening to these Democrats, you do it. I want to talk to you. Here’s more. Here’s Ahmadinejad on the domestic situation in the United States.

AHMADINEJAD: Poverty, illiteracy, health care issues, and the gap between the poor and the rich. The situation of poverty and deprivation is very alarming.

RUSH: Teddy Kennedy, December 17th, 2006.

KENNEDY: Thirty-six million Americans that are going to bed hungry every night, 36 million Americans who are going — and 12 million of those are children. We’ve had the total number of people that have fallen back into poverty during this Bush administration, and we have five million more people that are drop [sic] back into poverty.

RUSH: And, of course, if we want to look really hard we can find Democrats who said almost word-for-word in their campaigns for president what Ahmadinejad accused the United States of yesterday. John Edwards comes to mind. I mean, John Edwards is running on the poverty problem, illiteracy, health care issues, they’re all running on that. The gap between the rich and the poor! Do you actually think Ahmadinejad gives a rear end about the gap between the rich and the poor in the United States? You think he’s sitting in Iran as he formulates a strategery to deal with this? ‘Yeah, I’m going to hit ’em on that.’ This guy clearly thinks the Democrats are running the country; he thinks the Drive-By Media is running the country, and he’s parroting what he’s heard them say. He thinks he’s building a bridge, a bond between himself and the American people. Here’s Ahmadinejad at the United Nations General Assembly yesterday on the Bush administration and how it can’t be believed.

AHMADINEJAD: How can the incompetent, who cannot even manage and control themselves, rule humanity and arrange its affairs?

RUSH: Here is Mrs. Clinton August 3rd, 2006.

HILLARY: Because of the administration’s strategic blunders and frankly the record of incompetence in executing, you are presiding over a failed policy. Given your track record, why should we believe your assurances now?

RUSH: She was talking to Defense Secretary Rumsfeld and calling him incompetent, unable to manage and control his impulses and urges in his own department and so forth, exactly what Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said at the UN General Assembly. Finally, this. This is at the UN yesterday. After he delivered his remarks at the General Assembly, he met with reporters. An unidentified Iranian female reporterette asked a question of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and he answered it.

REPORTER: You mentioned that there is no such phenomenon in Iran as homosexuality. Could you please elaborate on that? I know a few myself.

AHMADINEJAD: Seriously, I don’t know of any. As for homosexuality, I don’t know where it is. Give me an address so that we are also aware of what happens in Iran.

RUSH: Damn right he wants an address. Give me an address so we are aware of what happens in Iran. Right!

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: You know, those side-by-sides of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the Democrats, I admit, I love doing it. It’s fun to do, but it also saddens me, ladies and gentlemen, that I have to do it. It saddens me that the state of our education system — elementary, high school, college — is such that many American citizens don’t get this on their own. When they listen to Ahmadinejad, if they do, they do not say, ‘Wow, I’ve heard this before. This guy sounds like a Democrat.’ When I point it out, they say, ‘Yeah, yeah.’ I guess from a professional programming standpoint, it stands me in good stead that I have to do this, but as I say, I’m saddened by it that so many people don’t see it on their own.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I want to get some audio sound bites in here before we go to the break. Still sticking with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Up to number 19 now, Mister Broadcast Engineer. This is a news conference on Capitol Hill yesterday. Harry Reid said this.

REID: As goofy as their leader appears to be based on his speech in [sic–at] Columbia, I still think there are many other powers in Iran that we could be dealing with including this character that spoke at Columbia. But rattling sabers I don’t think is a way to handle diplomacy. I think the best way is to see what we can do to work something out, and that’s what I think the world community is crying for.

RUSH: The world community is crying for working something out? What are we going to work out? The destruction of Israel might be a good start, Dingy Harry. Promise that to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and see how far we get. A little aside here, ladies and gentlemen. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his buddy up there in Syria, Bashar Assad, those guys, in truth, they’re quaking in their boots. Something not being said about the Israeli attack is that it succeeded. The Syrians couldn’t stop it. The Iranians probably couldn’t stop one, either, and they know it. So while these guys appear to be sitting on top of the world over there and running things, don’t for a minute believe that they’re not quaking in their boots on occasion.

When the Israelis can pull off a raid in Syria like they did and get away with it and nobody can stop ’em, nobody even knew they were coming, ha. Dirty little secret is that these two tyrants who are now being portrayed as on top of the world and in total control of their universes are probably full of a lot of bluster. But you have to listen to it nevertheless. Anyway, Dingy Harry wants to sit down and talk with him, this goofy character that went to Columbia and sounded just like a Democrat, say I. Again, last night on Hardball, Chris Matthews talking with the Houston Chronicle’s Julie Mason. Matthews says, ‘What was that last little kick to the midsection about, that incompetent, who’s he talking about?’

MASON: He’s talking about Bush, obviously. And it’s funny, you know, Bush stood up at the UN, you know, and he pointed the moral finger and at least half of them are sitting there thinking, Gitmo, and, you know, it’s an easy mark for Ahmadinejad.

RUSH: This is a Houston Chronicle reporter mocking George Bush and agreeing with Ahmadinejad for doing it, because when he’s up there talking about morality, half the room is thinking, Gitmo? That’s not what half the room was thinking. But look at who the Drive-By Media seems to be in bed with, seems to be so close to they can understand, and that is the part of the world that hates George W. Bush and hates us.

END TRANSCRIPT

*Note: Links to content outside RushLimbaugh.com usually become inactive over time.

RUSH: All right, time to go to the audio sound bites.
